Only 1 rule.
No c&p posts a mile long, they’re just boring & no one reads them.
Keep it short, sweet, & to the point.

Peace & Love ❤️🇬🇧❤️

Oh and troll hunting is a no no. Just reported to MN, I also told MN that cardinalsin is LIGHT HEARTED and NORMAL.

time4chocolate · 11/09/2018 23:53

Blimey, is there anything you can’t find on the internetGrin

Looks like May is on her way out ……..

bellinisurge · 12/09/2018 07:02

Seems like Remain supporters have started staying in the Arms and Leavers are ... er ....leaving.
Pesky facts really put people off their pint.
Makes a change from the first "cheery news" Brexit Arms threads.

frumpety · 12/09/2018 07:18

Will there be a GE do you think if May gets ousted ?

1tisILeClerc · 12/09/2018 07:41

If Time4 returns with a petition for REAL chocolate as we had say 20 years ago without palm oil that would be something to get behind and celebrate.

bellinisurge · 12/09/2018 07:45

Only a new GE if any new PM wants it. On the basis that you can fool some of the people some of the time but can't fool all the people all the time, it would be a big risk to go for a de facto Brexit approval GE.
If Corbyn had any sense in such a scenario he'd switch Labour to Remain. Wait ...Corbyn is a fucking Brexiteer too...

surferjet · 12/09/2018 07:53

CardinalSin
You don’t call other thread users ‘scum’ or deliberately misspell their name to annoy. This is supposed to be a friendly chat thread, & it is until you turn up, so take your over the top argumentative attitude & get lost.

OP posts:
Hazardswan · 12/09/2018 07:58

Calling someone scum is handly the same thing as continuously supporting a movement that will destablise NI and kill the NHS and thus damage, harm and may be kill the people of this country.

One thing is a minorly insulting word the other thing has long term real world consequences.

I'm gonna say this again, cardinalsin is a LIGHT HEARTED and NORMAL indivdual

10degreestostarboard · 12/09/2018 08:02

Hazardswan - everything you cite there is conjecture. You don’t really know any of that will come to pass.

10degreestostarboard · 12/09/2018 08:05

Surferjet

It’s ok - remain = virtue, leave = unbridled heresy for these folks

That they cannot even acknowledge the leave perspective says a lot about why they lost the vote.

Remain was a perfectly rational choice - I get it. But so is remain.

10degreestostarboard · 12/09/2018 08:05

Well there’s a Freudian slip.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 12/09/2018 08:06

Thats a slip and a half 10

10degreestostarboard · 12/09/2018 08:11

Yes - but it will cheer the usual suspects up at least in this lighthearted thread

Jumping on typos is fun if you are bereft of argument :)

surferjet · 12/09/2018 08:14

10degreestostarboard
Well yes, they can run around predicting the end of world all day long if they like ( & some of them do ) but this is not the thread for them. She/he should start their own pub thread. ‘The doom mongers arms’ or something.

OP posts:
1tisILeClerc · 12/09/2018 08:14

The main thing wrong with 'leaving' is that it will not solve the underlying issues concerning many in the UK.
There is increasing evidence that it will make matters significantly WORSE.
As a simple, easy to spot example that has ALREADY happened, the value if the Pound has dropped a couple of percent since the 2016 vote.
Yes the value of the Pound has risen a bit in the last week or so, but is still WAY below the value 2 years ago.
Another 'negative' is that stonking piles of cash are being thrown at preparations for Brexit, which need not have happened and is already many times MORE than the amount the UK pays into the EU.
Sadly these 2 items are FACTS.

ragged · 12/09/2018 08:15

JasonJHunter keeps going on about the Great Repeal Act (whatever it's formal name is). GRA says that there must not be any change to how people & goods & vehicles move over the NI border. UK cannot set anything up different. In meantime... (25.8.18)

1tisILeClerc · 12/09/2018 08:16

@surfer
I missed the possibility of 'toons' last evening, and would have been happy to talk drinking or whatever.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 12/09/2018 08:23

Im always doing it 10

In my case (not in yours in this instance) it's usually when i think ive said something insightful or put someone straight

And then i read it back and think shiiiiiitttt

prettybird · 12/09/2018 08:26

Someone in even the "naicest" pub (and especially even if the conversation was light-hearted) who said that "NI and Scotland are expendable" in front of people who'd lived through the Troubles and/or lost family or friends because of the Troubles would get short thrift and change the atmosphere of the pub.

A good landlord would expel such a person.

That's not denying facts. That's simple humanity.

KennDodd · 12/09/2018 08:31

@10degreestostarboard

I'm sorry but your explanation about how the EU are blackmailing us over NI doesn't explain anything. What are you saying the EU want (the ranson in your scenario) and what are threatening to do to NI (the hostage in your scenario)?

surferjet · 12/09/2018 08:42

prettybird

Her 1st post on this thread was to annoy 10degreestostarboard by deliberately misspelling her name, that was long before last nights conversation.

OP posts:
woman11017 · 12/09/2018 08:50

Well said prettybird.
3,637 reasons for us never ever to forget how precious this peace is.

bellinisurge · 12/09/2018 08:53

If someone is so easily triggered by having their fake name misspelled in an anonymous online forum they are a bit ..... snowflaky.

time4chocolate · 12/09/2018 09:05

Massive derail but, please can someone tell me how strikethrough works on MN with an iPad. I have spent 10 mins of my life which I won’t get back trying to get a line through a word FFS ( i’m feeling ragey now😡)
