Remainders always start anti Brexit threads.

I've been reading Brexit threads and it's always the same people talking about how unhappy they are about Brexit.
I guess Brexit leave voters have no time to waste on forums.

Ihatemycar · 23/08/2018 09:11

@surferjet there aren't more remainders obviously. Also I was quoting somebody about us being the sick man in Europe. Not very bright are you?

OP posts:
twofingerstoEverything · 23/08/2018 09:13

Haha! Waiting for the back-tracking when ihatemycar realises she's just insulted an arch brexiteer!

Ihatemycar · 23/08/2018 09:16

@Blushah if you can't win an argument insult people.
Just because Leave won the referendum that doesn't mean we can't have an intelligent debate.
But you are insult me because you are not getting your way. That's why we aren't moving forward because you are having a tantrum about not staying in the EU.

OP posts:
surferjet · 23/08/2018 09:17

I really want to help you here Ihatemycar but I don’t think I can.

So, moving on.
Can any remainer answer my question?

Ihatemycar · 23/08/2018 09:17

Insulting

OP posts:
Ihatemycar · 23/08/2018 09:18

@surferjet how can you help me by insulting me. So aggressive.

OP posts:
NameChangedAgain18 · 23/08/2018 09:20

Well, we aren’t the sick man of Europe any more, are we? But that’s precisely what we were before we joined the EU.

Ihatemycar · 23/08/2018 09:21

@twofingerstoEverything really a Brexiteer?
It doesn't sound like it at all.

OP posts:
surferjet · 23/08/2018 09:22

But I don’t understand why all the migrants in France risk their lives to get here?
Why ?

Ihatemycar · 23/08/2018 09:23

@NameChangedAgain18
Sick man of Europe. "Sick man of Europe" is a label given to a European country experiencing a time of economic difficulty or impoverishment. The term was first used in the mid-19th century to describe the Ottoman Empire, but has since applied at one time or another to nearly every other major country in Europe.

OP posts:
BertrandRussell · 23/08/2018 09:23

We aren’t the “sick man of Europe” any more. Entertainingly, we were called that before joining the EU.

surferjet · 23/08/2018 09:24

Ihatemycar
I can see why my post looked like a remainers question, but I am a leaver. 100%
🤝

Ihatemycar · 23/08/2018 09:25

@surferjet please understand I did not say we are the sick man in Europe. I was quoting another MN user.

OP posts:
NameChangedAgain18 · 23/08/2018 09:25

Please don’t @ me. It’s bad etiquette, I don’t need an email notification for this sort of comment.

Kewqueue · 23/08/2018 09:26

But I don’t understand why all the migrants in France risk their lives to get here?
Overwhelmingly because they have family or friends here who can help them out - pretty vital for survival.

surferjet · 23/08/2018 09:27

Ihatemycar

I know. I was quoting them. Just didn’t put their name in the post, because tbh, I’ve heard it said a 100x by remainers.

Ihatemycar · 23/08/2018 09:28

@surferjet I didn't understand where you were coming from.
I started this thread to find out about what other people that voted Leave thought about. The arguments seemed so unbalanced towards remain.

OP posts:
BertrandRussell · 23/08/2018 09:28

Because every single immigrant, especially the illegal ones, get a house with a garden and a free car. True fact.

Ihatemycar · 23/08/2018 09:30

@Kewqueue they come here because we have a somewhat lax approach to benefits.
It is easier to find work and we speak English making it easier for most people to adapt.

OP posts:
surferjet · 23/08/2018 09:31

Not risking your life 3 x a day by hanging under a lorry is pretty vital for survival - but that doesn’t stop them.

Jason118 · 23/08/2018 09:37

Surfer you know very well that they come because our UK government doesn't take the same line as other EU countries. Is not (and never has been) an EU membership problem, it's a UK government issue. Hope your dong ok by the way Smile

Kewqueue · 23/08/2018 09:44

Ihatemycar - speaking English is another reason, of course. Lax benefits - not so much as most people won't get them. You also think they are all trying to get HERE. Also not the case. We are living through a period of time with huge numbers of migrations all over the world- not just here.

Getoffthetableplease · 23/08/2018 09:45

And yet it's a UK thing to have no control over migrants, ignore the EU saying they should be self-supporting within 3 months.

I'm genuinely completely at a loss as to why anyone voted leave. Can someone please enlighten me as to their reasons (without the whole 'believing in Britain' /'taking back our country' cries). Seriously though, what do you want, and what do you see happening after the government's just spent time farting around like ferrets in a sack rather than sorting anything?

The British were deporting Jews back to their death in Nazi Shoah camps in 1940.

Genuinely nice to see you though surfer Smile

Raglansleeve · 23/08/2018 10:12

Surferjet, they want to come here because:
They believe the hype/lies that they will get jobs, houses and benefits as soon as they arrive here - very much like the waves of immigrants historically who came here believing the streets of London were paved with gold.

Many of them speak English.

They know that the British authorities are woefully inadequate at enforcing the return of illegal immigrants, even if they can catch them in the first place, so deem attempting to enter the UK illegally a chance they are willing to take.
