Not the Brexit Arms

Since BrexitArmsLandlady says she isn't starting anymore threads here's a place to discuss Brexit developments for those that still want to.

It never ceases to amaze me what a shambles this is.

The cabinet still can't even agree what we want, let alone what we're going to get.

Surfer is very quiet.

Turns out the Brexit domino effect actually meant the Brexit Arms leavers fucking off one by one.

Bearbehind · 13/07/2018 17:49

Trumps comments were bizarre even for him.

He started by waffling on about what a good night he'd had and what places he'd been to.

He denied saying anything bad about TM and her handling of Brexit, dismissing it as 'fake news', even though a recording of it hasbeen released.

He said again, this time in front of TM, that BJ would make a great PM.

He refused to take a question from the CNN reporter as they were the worst for fake news.

He kept sucking up to TM and trying to hold her hand again.

He said we could have a deal with the US but also said he didn't want to have to deal with the EU i.e., we can't actually have a deal because of the White Paper commitment to EU regulatory alliance.

It was horrifying and memsermising at the same time.

It was horrifying and memsermising at the same time.

It's what every single Leaver voted for. Apparently.

And Remainers too, funnily enough.

Trump becoming president was just another chapter in the Brexit debacle. If Clinton had won she could have talked sense to May. She'd probably have had some strong words on whats going on in NI as well.

Bearbehind · 13/07/2018 18:11

Oh, and my personal favourite, and proof he talks nonsense was when he was talking about how much he'd achieved as POTUS and said he'd been in the role for 160 days!

I'm convinced he's in early stage dementia. The childishness simplicity of his language (compared to 10 or so years ago), his need to hold hands on slopes and steps, the way he forgets what he said just the night before on tape , his total lack of self-awareness (ok, that last one is intrinsic to his nature Wink)....Hmm

time4chocolate · 13/07/2018 19:45

Well, at least he wasn’t drunk as a skunk!

Bearbehind · 13/07/2018 19:51

He doesn't drink does he?

Grin Grin

Bearbehind · 13/07/2018 19:55

No seriously, I thought he was a complete tee-totaller who despised alcohol.

OP posts:
time4chocolate · 13/07/2018 20:05

Seriously? You’re winding me up? Wink

Bearbehind · 13/07/2018 20:34

Deadly serious- I'll try and google.

His brother died from alcoholism so he doesn't touch the stuff.

If he were permantently pissed it would explain a lot!

There were LOADS of Americans marching, bumping up the numbers.
I caught a train this morning many miles from London - an American tourist offered to pay my fare...said thanks...I said no, happy to pay my own fare!

time4chocolate · 13/07/2018 21:01

Bear I knew he was a tea-totaller but didn’t know that was why.

My earlier post was being tongue in cheek, Jean-Claude Juncker turning up at the NATO summit this week clearly the worse for wear. Apparently it was sciatica and bad cramps, but his face does not reflect a man in agonising pain. But let’s just gloss over that and focus on Trump and his behaviour.

Also no idea what the swinging woman was doing Grin

Bearbehind · 13/07/2018 21:09

Odd logic as ever time!

How does what Juncker does make a difference to what Trump does?

Juncker might not be an angel but I don't recall him outright lying as many times in 30 minutes as a Trump did today.

OP posts:
time4chocolate · 13/07/2018 21:25

I am actually odd so me and my logic are perfectly in sync Smile

I just thought I would highlight that there is more than one unhinged leader doing the rounds this week. Especially given one of them is President of one of the largest trading blocs in the world. Did we have a say in that? can we remove him? Did the Americans vote in their president?

Bearbehind · 13/07/2018 21:28

So what do you think of the White Paper time?

How is remaining aligned with EU regulations compatible with a trade deal with the US?

OP posts:
time4chocolate · 13/07/2018 21:31

There is another thread on this board called “The White paper - what is it? My answer is on there!

Bearbehind · 13/07/2018 21:34

Odder and odder.

So you think the White Paper might as well be toilet paper?

Leavers will forever baffle me.

So what next, cos even Trump said walking away isn't an option.

OP posts:
time4chocolate · 13/07/2018 21:58

so what next....

I couldn’t even hazard a guess to be honest.

Bearbehind · 13/07/2018 22:34

Weird.

So you voted for something and are quite happy that you've no idea what happens next.

That's why I'll never understand this.

OP posts:
time4chocolate · 13/07/2018 23:15

Ok bear what’s going to happen next is Elvis is going to rise from the grave and give us all a stirring rendition of “its now or never” everyone is then going to get behind Brexit and the E.U. will give us everything we want........ back in the real world who really knows what is going to happen next. It’s like West Wing only real life.

Bearbehind · 13/07/2018 23:20

The fact that that is your synopsis on the very thing you chose is why this is such a monumental fuck up.

OP posts:
surferjet · 13/07/2018 23:22

Bear.
We’re leaving the EU.
Get over it.
