Not the Brexit Arms

Since BrexitArmsLandlady says she isn't starting anymore threads here's a place to discuss Brexit developments for those that still want to.

It never ceases to amaze me what a shambles this is.

The cabinet still can't even agree what we want, let alone what we're going to get.

I voted leave to end freedom of movement & that’s been achieved.

Oh, surfer, you are a wag.

DGRossetti · 09/07/2018 09:48

I voted leave to end freedom of movement & that’s been achieved.

Well, unless you have another EU passport, it's mainly your own freedom of movement you've ended.

topcat1980 · 09/07/2018 10:28

"I voted leave to end freedom of movement & that’s been achieved"

So it really all was about immigration.

Thanks for that confirmation.

But also FOM will just be given another name.

bearbehind · 09/07/2018 15:54

It's all going swimmingly isn't it! 😂😂😂

Schadenfreude ...

time4chocolate · 09/07/2018 16:48

Well we have blown the doors off good and proper and given British politics a damn good shake up. Neither party now knows it’s arse from its elbow. Interesting times.

Peregrina · 09/07/2018 16:50

Please surfer come back and tell us that you are happy with the resignations; that it's all hunky dory and going to plan.

DaisyTwirl · 09/07/2018 17:11

Glad Boris has gone - Gove for foreign secretary now 😉
Also like Dominic Raab - much quicker on his feet than DD, and less likely to take shit from Olly Robins.

Deadsouls · 09/07/2018 17:51

What a shitshow! 😭😂

bearbehind · 09/07/2018 17:54

time the problem is Brexit is impossible to deliver.

It wouldn't matter which party was in power, it can't be done.

The price of ending FOM is too high for the country as a whole.

We should never have been offered this choice.

DD and BJ have just picked their moment to get out of this mess because they know it's not going to end well.

PineappleSunrise · 09/07/2018 18:31

Good Lord, what a mess. If I thought the government was like rats in a sack before...

surferjet · 09/07/2018 18:43

Fantastic day.
TM will be booted out PDQ & we’ll get a true Brexiteer as our leader.

All good from where I’m standing Smile

PineappleSunrise · 09/07/2018 18:46

Wouldn't it be nice if a true Brexiteer tried coming up with an implementable plan for leaving?

bearbehind · 09/07/2018 18:47

PMSL surfer

You were TM's biggest supporter not long ago.

When will you understand no one is going to put themselves in the firing line because they know it can't be delivered.

That's the only reason TM hasn't gone already; there's no one to replace her.

OP posts:
surferjet · 09/07/2018 18:53

I was TM’s biggest fan at first, I trusted her & believed in her, but as the months have gone on she’s been pretty crap, and her true ‘remainer’ status is shining through.
It is time for her to go.

bellinisurge · 09/07/2018 19:00

@surferjet - isn't it terrible when people you have faith in fail to deliver. Think you need to get used to this feeling.

Peregrina · 09/07/2018 19:00

But I’m happy with the way things are going so far.

Forgive me if I am being a bit dense: I can't see where this says, 'I look forward to May being ousted'.

We are not forced to get a Brexiter as a PM. When it comes down to it, Boris is a) a lazy arse, and b) not stupid and knows he can't deliver any sort of Brexit which won't damage him or the Party. As for the others - they don't exactly seem the sharpest knives in the drawer.

May is not really a Remainer - she is a fence sitter. She must have so many splinters in her behind now, you could build a log cabin with them.

bearbehind · 09/07/2018 19:04

But can't you see that

a) she can't deliver because it's an impossible task

And

b) no one else is going to touch it with a barge pole because it's an impossible task

OP posts:
surferjet · 09/07/2018 19:05

I was happy, but now I’m even happier.
I was resigned to accepting a compromise/ soft Brexit, because that’s the way things were going, but now the revolt has started I’m very happy.
We need a Donald Trump.

bellinisurge · 09/07/2018 19:05

@surferjet with this love of the man baby you are spoiling us!

bearbehind · 09/07/2018 19:08

We need a Donald Trump.

But we haven't got one thankfully

These resignations are just saving their own jobs.

It's not going to create a hard Brexit.

We're going to end up with BINO because there's no alternative.

OP posts:
surferjet · 09/07/2018 19:10

I think you’re right bear.
It will be BINO.
But time will tell.

bearbehind · 09/07/2018 19:13

Sadly I take no joy in you actually agreeing with me now because the damage has already been done ☹️

OP posts:
surferjet · 09/07/2018 19:18

Boris will be our new PM anyway, he’ll throw his hat into the ring as ‘the saviour’ of Brexit - & he’ll get the job.

Peregrina · 09/07/2018 19:21

Boris throw his hat in the ring? Not yet. He wants to be the one who comes along when it's all gone tits up and be the saviour - as he would have done had Cameron won his Referendum. So the Prime Minister but one or two, assuming that the Tories don't wreck the Party in the process.
