Not the Brexit Arms

Since BrexitArmsLandlady says she isn't starting anymore threads here's a place to discuss Brexit developments for those that still want to.

It never ceases to amaze me what a shambles this is.

The cabinet still can't even agree what we want, let alone what we're going to get.

Point missing is up there in my top ten skills Jas Wink

bearbehind · 03/06/2018 18:48

It's very quiet round here isn't it?

Is that because there's literally no good news coming out about Brexit right now?

Even the Leavers idol, Nigel Farage is saying that he never said it would make our lives better, only we would get to decide just how shit it is.

Theworldisfullofgs · 03/06/2018 19:32

Nigel Farage should have his own special place in history.
Several calls on Twitter for a Calcott style inquiry into the crap that is Brexit.

SacrebleuLondres · 04/06/2018 07:36

Brexit is dead. Even Dotard Davis is giving up

GhostofFrankGrimes · 04/06/2018 07:40

Looks like the patriots don't want to stand and defend their position now that Brexit is turning to shit and their heros are waving the white flag.

surferjet · 04/06/2018 11:59

Lol - the goading is still alive & kicking on here, even though leavers left the building months ago.

Are you that bored?

The Brexit Arms threads were set up to goad with the "we won, you lost" mentality.

Are you that bored?

No, I'm very interested in the slow demise of the UK and whether the people who voted for it have the courage to stand by Brexit.

KennDodd · 04/06/2018 15:21

I was wondering were you'd been @Surferjet anyone else of your lot still around? They all seem to have cleared off.

If you're still convinced it's all going to be great please, please give me some facts as to why and how. Your favored 'No deal, walk away, hard Brexit' is looking like a complete and disaster for the country from where I'm standing.

DGRossetti · 04/06/2018 15:42

I was wondering were you'd been Surferjet

Now the trollbots are quiet, it's a full time job trying to big up Brexit. Hardly surprising the flesh and blood brexiteers are a little stretched ...

frumpety · 05/06/2018 06:16

It has gone quite quiet Brexit wise though hasn't it ? I mean if you are interested in the subject you can always find news stories related to it, but it hasn't been prominent in the news, or not any that I have watched recently.

We have got the Commons vote on the Lords amendments to the brexit bill on the 12th of June, that should be interesting. Then the Brussels summit at the end of June.

I still believe Brexit isn't going to happen.

bearbehind · 05/06/2018 06:48

I still believe Brexit isn't going to happen.

I agree. Certainly not to any meaningful extent anyway.

Massive waste of time and money.

NFU starting to get a bit twitchy about lack of clarity or hard facts regarding Brexit , very difficult to plan ahead without a plan.

Recruitment agencies are warning that they cannot secure the number of workers needed by British farmers to pick their fruit and vegetables.

Over half of recruitment companies could not find the labour even in the "quiet" first months of this year, the Association of Labour Providers says

The National Farmers Union reports that last year there was a 17% drop in seasonal workers coming to the UK.

This led to some valuable produce being left to rot in the fields.

(contd)

GhostofFrankGrimes · 06/06/2018 12:45

Record numbers of people using food banks and food rotting in fields. What a disgrace. They used to wave flags patriotically in the Brexit Arms. Not any more, not any more.

DGRossetti · 06/06/2018 13:09

Record numbers of people using food banks and food rotting in fields.

Maybe food banks should simply give people wellies, spades and a map?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 06/06/2018 13:17

Liz Saville Roberts, the Plaid Cymru MP, says families are already £900 a year worse off because of Brexit. How much poorer will families get as the government and the opposition engage in fantasy politics?

May says Saville Roberts should speak to the people of Wales, who voted to leave the EU.

www.theguardian.com/politics/blog/live/2018/jun/06/pmqs-brexit-starmer-says-labour-wont-back-staying-in-eea-because-party-too-divided-politics-live#comments

And there it is patriots. Your own PM is no longer defending the assertion that Brexit will leave people poorer. And to add insult to injury, you, the leave voter are being blamed.

DarlingNikita · 06/06/2018 16:54

Joining this thread a bit late.

Interested in particularly Leavers' views on how it's going.

Theworldisfullofgs · 06/06/2018 16:59

ghost it's feels a bit like a parent whose found their child smoking and who has then said- there you go, some 100 now, one after the other. I know it will make you sick, but you wanted it.

DGRossetti · 06/06/2018 17:02

Interested in particularly Leavers' views on how it's going.

You're in the wrong place then Smile you'll only find Brexiteers here. And they won't respond meaningfully because despite being in a majority (we know this, because they never stop mentioning it) it seems they are intimidated by the nasty "remoaners" who keep asking questions. If there's one thing I think Remainers and Leavers can agree on, it's that there are no answers out of Brexit.

DarlingNikita · 06/06/2018 17:15

That's a pity, DG.

Despite being sick to the back teeth of Brexit, I am still up for discussion and listening.

Ah well.

DGRossetti · 06/06/2018 17:17

Despite being sick to the back teeth of Brexit, I am still up for discussion and listening.

What is there to discuss ? Leave won. Get over it. is probably the best precis of what you'd get from a Brexiteer. For informed debate, there's other threads Grin

frumpety · 07/06/2018 06:23

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-44391542

Even when there is a plan , those currently in Government can't agree to support it and the EU probably won't agree to it anyway. Marvellous Hmm

GhostofFrankGrimes · 07/06/2018 07:45

Country is no longer being held to ransom by the Tories civil war. It is being held to ransom by the egos of May and Davies. Great.

frumpety · 07/06/2018 08:03

Held to ransom , at least then there would be discernible way out of this predicament , as it is the ransom note hasn't arrived , we have no idea how much we need to pay or where the drop off is and what we will get returned to us for paying it.
