Thanks Faith. I am genuine. I do want to feel better about Brexit.

LondonMum8 · 08/03/2018 17:28

Behold the power of statistics.

TalkinPeace · 08/03/2018 17:31

mummmy
European wide tax system... it exists. As a plan in EU
Prove it - provide a link
or we have good reason to disbelieve you

Cupofteaandtoilet · 08/03/2018 17:37

Mummmmy, are you talking about plans for europewide corporate tax harmonisation?

mummmy2017 · 08/03/2018 17:41

No it was about everyone having their own personal tax code for wages. SORRY using a phone as Laptop in for repair. So no copy and paste.

TalkinPeace · 08/03/2018 17:48

Mummmy
Sorry but you have been reading too much of the Express.
That is absolutely NOT an EU policy or budget line - because every EU country taxes its citizens in different ways.

mummmy2017 · 08/03/2018 17:52

No they have already voted to do it May 2016. Just not implemented it yet.
I think they thought the idea was good. But realty a bit harder to impliment

TalkinPeace · 08/03/2018 17:58

To do WHAT ?
You find the link and type what it says at the top of the page so that one of us can find it and copy and paste it
or learn how to copy and paste on your phone

Moussemoose · 08/03/2018 18:00

Do you mean the corporate tax plan?

The plan that will stop companies using loopholes to avoid paying tax.

TalkinPeace · 08/03/2018 18:06

Aha, found it
and I suspect that mummmy read about it in the Daily Heil
because Lord Rothermere is VERY angry that it will stop him being "domiciled" in France for UK tax purposes and in the UK for French tax purposes
ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/business/tax-cooperation-control/administrative-cooperation/enhanced-administrative-cooperation-field-direct-taxation_en
The Barclays (who own the Torygraph) are also frothing as it will limit their activities in the EU if they still pretend to live "offshore"

Mummmy
You should read it : its a great piece of kick the rich legislation.
No wonder Rees Mogg and co hate it Grin

mummmy2017 · 08/03/2018 18:09

Look up this.
EU Tax Identitfication Number.

TalkinPeace · 08/03/2018 18:12

mummmy
Yup its here
ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/business/tax-cooperation-control/administrative-cooperation/enhanced-administrative-cooperation-field-direct-taxation_en
Its a database of all the NI / UTR numbers across the continent so that tax authorities can check whether taxpayers who claim to declare their tax in another country are doing so.

By leaving the EU we will let the rich carry on avoiding paying their taxes
great

Seems that many Leave voters were under the impression that the likes of Arron Banks and other 0.1%ers were funding Brexit campaign out of deep love for the British people?

mummmy2017 · 08/03/2018 18:27

Junkie was saying he thinks it could be used to contribute to the budget short fall.

mummmy2017 · 08/03/2018 18:36

London you really do write some guff.
You must read the wrong papers.

Moussemoose · 08/03/2018 18:37

Yep the bastards in the Commission want to make sure rich corporations pay tax fairly. Outrageous!

By working together EU countries can stop companies and rich people avoiding tax.

All that tax could be used to help - I don't know - poor people?

But not in the U.K. because we will have left.

LondonMum8 · 08/03/2018 18:37

'Junkie'.

Can we stop this sort of derogatory and inflammatory name calling?

time4chocolate · 08/03/2018 18:40

Londonmum8 - you’re comedy gold😂😂

TalkinPeace · 08/03/2018 18:42

@mummmy2017
Are you going to thank me for kindly finding and posting the links you were talking about ?

LondonMum8 · 08/03/2018 18:43

@mummy2017

"London you really do write some guff.
You must read the wrong papers.

Could you try and be more specific? Even better, could you tell us why you think Arron Banks funded the Leave campaign? Do you believe he did it out of charity?

TalkinPeace · 08/03/2018 18:44

Junkie was saying he thinks it could be used to contribute to the budget short fall.
Yup
he was saying that by clamping down on tax avoidance by the super rich there will be less of a budget shortfall for member governments
horrible, horrible idea Smile

Moussemoose · 08/03/2018 18:45

And that little incident is why referencing is so important.

Person X has read ( misread ?) something and uses it to make a point. Other people read the link and draw their own, different, conclusions.

We are all now better informed about what the EU is doing. We can all use these facts to make our own judgments. Not possible without the link and the reference.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 08/03/2018 18:50

Seems that many Leave voters were under the impression that the likes of Arron Banks and other 0.1%ers were funding Brexit campaign out of deep love for the British people?

Does it?

I've seen nothing that suggests this inference, let alone supports it.
