Any reasonable person reading this thread can see very clearly that Bear is an aggressive poster.

User I'm surprised at you - after the aggressive treatment you got on here.

surferjet · 06/03/2018 08:26

I often wonder why you come on these threads Bear - you say over & over again how frustrated you get with us, so why not just go & chat on The Westminster thread?
That’s what most remainers do. I mean, you are on here A LOT, a lot more than any other remainer. Why put yourself through it?
Nothings ever going to change on here.

Also, I think your frustration & anger is now off the scale due to leavers actually being happy with the way Brexit is going.
You even admitted you were annoyed we weren’t extremely disappointed with TM’s speech.
You can’t srand us being happy with Brexit.

I think you need to stay off these threads, stop obsessing over the leavers on here.
Find a hobby.
Chat with your dh.
Check out other threads on MN.
Do something that makes you happy & calm. 🌈

Happy to be proved wrong

Glad that's the case faith - I apologised for the word 'twat' on page 12 at 10.50 Grin

Inkanta · 06/03/2018 08:28

Bear - and stop calling people people "liars" - for god sakes what's the matter with you. You don't talk to people like that.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 06/03/2018 08:29

Ok Faith,
Why bring it into the thread then, the thread was about, Fta's, Custom union's/agreements, EFTAs and Switzerland and Italy election's

Confused

I didn't bring fuck all to this thread.
Suggest you RTFT tbh.

(And you're not the thread police btw, I'll post what I want).

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 06/03/2018 08:31

faith I CBA to continue this conversation with you.

Thank fuck.
Finally I'll get some respite.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 06/03/2018 08:32

User I'm surprised at you - after the aggressive treatment you got on here.

surfer I'll chose to take your post as well intended rather than patronising Grin

I stay on this thread because it's the only one that Leavers frequent and for me it's important to hear the views of those who chose this path.

The trouble is, lately people have been going to the most staggering lengths to avoid discussion.

I have much less of an issue with you because you're just honest and say it like it is.

I don't like this tactic of answering a question by saying 'I CBA', 'google it', 'read it' etc

I just don't see why you'd contribute in the first place if that's all you are going to say.

bearbehind · 06/03/2018 08:36

Bear - and stop calling people people "liars" - for god sakes what's the matter with you. You don't talk to people like that.

Inkanta If people say things that aren't true what else can you call them?

Should we just accept lies because it's not 'nice' to point them out?

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 06/03/2018 08:40

Here's the post in full Bear.
You apologised for using the word 'twat', swiftly followed by a 'but' and hot on the heels of 'I still stand by that comment'.

As apologies go, it's not up there in my top 10 tbh - in actual fact it was pretty weak, almost non-existent.

However, you did post 'apologise' so I guess I'll take that, and stand corrected.

^infinite, which part of faith lied about blocking posters don't you get.

It's all well and good saying after the event 'it was a joke', it wasn't. She even added that she'd blocked several people when surfer asked how you block people.

I said faith looked a twat for posting things she can't support. I still stand by that comment.

OK the word might be unnecessary and I'll apologise for that, but it is borne of frustration that she has no shame in posting and continuing to defend things that are untrue, cannot be defended.^

Inkanta · 06/03/2018 08:42

'Inkanta If people say things that aren't true what else can you call them?'

A difference of opinion is not 'lying' and besides which it's particularly aggressive to name call someone a "liar"

Most people know that *Bear".

So knock it off!

Sorry I think I am going to leave this thread now for today, I can't deal with this you said I said bullshit anymore, up to page 19, it was developing into a generally interesting discussion of remainers and leavers looking at way forward, we even discussed GDP, but it appears you rather insult each other.
God help my kids, if this is the future of our once great country, we deserve everything we get. According to our own PM on Friday, that's going to be less than we have now, which if you live in Hull, Blackpool, Hartlepool isn't a lot anyway
Finally thanks to all those who replied on page 18/19, it was nice to see the reply on the Swiss situation. Nothing I have read on here or found in my research as stopped me believing that EFTA and EEA is the only way forward.
So no point being the pub bore anymore, I keep lurking and add if I find anything to add to discussion. But I find insults add nowt, and just ruin it

bearbehind · 06/03/2018 08:47

inkanta I agree that where we are talking about a difference of opinion that is not lying

However, in the 2 specific examples I'm referring to faith made statements which are not true (I'm now excluding the blocking posters one)

  • that there was a difference between CU and CA which we could easily Google to find out what it was
  • that we could find the answer to where technology existed for an NI border that could be deployed in 13 months in a report faith linked to.
FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 06/03/2018 08:50

- that there was a difference between CU and CA which we could easily Google to find out what it was

There is - and I even explained it to you.
Also, you can easily google it.

- that we could find the answer to where technology existed for an NI border that could be deployed in 13 months in a report faith linked to.

There is technology available, it was in the linked report. I did not mention anything about a 13 month deployment- that was entirely your own addition.

Inkanta · 06/03/2018 08:57

'However, in the 2 specific examples I'm referring to faith made statements which are not true'

Rubbish excuse. Calling someone a "liar" is mean. Stop it!

Cupofteaandtoilet · 06/03/2018 08:58

Inkanta, a difference of opinion is one thing but people making statements as thiough they are facts and then providing no evidence to back up those facts could be lying. No?

I agree with user and others that this thread has descended into nit-picking and name calling and is not an interesting debate to lurkers currently, perhaps we should have a game of darts while Bear & Faith slug it out.

Wouldn't it be better not to get dragged into the minutiae of semantics and intention? But, of course, I agree that statements of fact should be evidenced if challenged; the lack of fact checking is why we're here imo.

TalkinPeace · 06/03/2018 09:05

@user1471450935
I too am bored of the petty insults and mud slinging.
it would be nice if @bearbehind would just ignore Faithhope
and engage with those posters who have something to say.

Your analysis of the Italian Election, based as it is on multiple sources, is a lot nearer the truth than many.

bearbehind · 06/03/2018 09:05

faith

-CM /CU- you've gone from saying you know 'exactly what the differences are' to 'one exists and the other doesnt' and failed to comment on the fact that that is the very reason why you can't 'google it'

  • border technology- you provided that link at on the last thread on Thursday at 19.37 and in my next post 19.42 I specifically asked what the practical solutions were as A50 only had 13 months to run and asked how it could be implemented in that time (19.56)

After that you said 'of course it's possible, the technology exists now' (19.58) and 'read the report, it gives examples' (20.18)

The report does not give examples which could be implemented in 13 months.

This really is tedious now.

user1471450935 · 06/03/2018 09:05

Thanks Bananagio.
To Faith, Surfer, Time4, Inkanta
The insults where 2 threads ago, god I don't hold grudges, I got an apology and changed my style. Not had a run in with bear for ages.
The last person to complain about me was Surfer.
CBA to defend/research a stance, position is annoying and rather self defeating to be honest, you learn so much.
I don't want to be thread police, I leave that to mumsnet HQ
Actually if you and surfer are so pissed off with bear, why don't you report her, you been threatening to numerous threads, so your right it is either Stockholm syndrome for you too, then it could be like some one who fancies someone else but daren't admit to it so attacks them constantly to cover it up or you both love it and you constantly write those posts to goad bear. I actually think it's latter now, and so I'm off

gussyfinknottle · 06/03/2018 09:05

If I use an incorrect statement in support of my position, it doesn't mean I'm a liar. It means I'm misguided.
If I said I am Kate Middleton, that would be a lie.
There is a difference. When someone calls you out on a statement you used in support of your position, it doesn't mean they are calling you a liar. They are calling you misguided.
But if you think that's the same as calling someone a liar, not a lot I can do about that.

bearbehind · 06/03/2018 09:08

Happy to move on. I realise this nonsense is derailing the thread and for my part in that I apologise.

From now on please can we agree to clarify comments if requested and answer questions to the best of our ability if they are posed,

Inkanta · 06/03/2018 09:09

'Inkanta, a difference of opinion is one thing but people making statements as thiough they are facts and then providing no evidence to back up those facts could be lying. No?'

Calling someone a 'liar' is a form of attack. It's aggressive. Everyone knows that. Such tactics on here are becoming a bit tedious.

Figmentofmyimagination · 06/03/2018 09:09

It does indeed largely come down to fact checking and a failure to understand the role facts (don't) play in collective decision making. Aristotle got it right. The rhetorical art of leadership, trust and persuasion is what got us into this mess, and that is what we need to get us out of it again. Rebuilding trust, at least in the medium term, does seem to be an impossible task though, which is why brexit will fail. Sadly IMHO it will take an external disaster to turn this ship around.
