This may be the last Brexit Arms thread that I will host.

It was intended to be a non-partisan and relatively light hearted thread for posters on both sides of the divide, but unfortunately this seems to have proved impossible so far.

It is not supposed to be a place for the disgruntled Remainer to use as an outlet to abuse and kick out at their perceived enemy.

I will give it one last go in the hope that things will change.

So.... onwards to Brexit....

Great was looking forward to listening to it will, watch later.
Desperatelyseeking We are tied to Holderness until 2031, when mortgage is paid off, Boys off 17 and 15, in sink Holderness bog standard comp.
That's why Brexit has to work for me.
So Mouuse, two in education
One could in 3 years be the policeman on your street corner.
He is doing special Olympics on Saturday, and regulars volunteers with the left behinds of EU project, he cares as much as you, it's his future, but he is willing to end up with £50000 of student debt to make a future of UK, wonder how many of you would

GhostofFrankGrimes · 27/02/2018 20:58

Brexit has to work because you have a mortgage pay? Hmm

GhostofFrankGrimes · 27/02/2018 20:59

Oh and the Tories have cut the number of front line police officers.

LondonMum8 · 27/02/2018 21:00

I wasted 5 minutes watching this Liam Fox video. Probably not a single substantial statement. "Global trade is the future.... yada yada yada... The historic decision by the British people... yada yada yada... The United Kingdom is one of the largest and successful economies... yada yada yada"

A pulp of lulling bullshit for anyone absolutely devoid of critical thinking to enjoy.

bearbehind · 27/02/2018 21:02

Thanks for the overview londonmum, exactly as I expected.

Exactly as TMs speech will be on Friday too.

surferjet · 27/02/2018 21:03

Liam Fox - our new God. ❤️🌈❤️🌈

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 27/02/2018 21:05

KK London.

5 minutes, aye?

Bear, it's worth a watch to make your own mind up.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 27/02/2018 21:06

Anything to keep the cult alive!

user1471450935 · 27/02/2018 21:06

Ghost
Grow up, no I have two boys of 17( 18th in 9 days) and a 15 year. Personally I can pay my mortgage and if not some one gets a cheap house, when we sell it to cover debts.
But I care about my kids, so Brexit has to work for them, and their kids.
Red Indians/Native Americans say we look after our world for the next generations, so Brexit has to work.
Instead of wasting time fighting it, the EU don't want us remember, we need to, well Government needs to follow through and make it work.

bearbehind · 27/02/2018 21:09

user it's you who needs to 'grow up'

How many times does it need explaining to you that just because you want or need Brexit to work, doesn't mean it's going to happen.

You might want to demand slightly more of Leavers in terms of how it can actually work in practice.

mummmy2017 · 27/02/2018 21:11

Way to go on the Cherry picking.
Since when was brexit the be all and end all of everything.
Sad sad puppies, I was talking about how YOU have no more answers than we do, but we are honest enough to admit it.

"If you actually care about the outcome and the truth," Levitt said, "saying 'I don't know' is critical."

gussyfinknottle · 27/02/2018 21:11

User, you don't think we want the economy to work for our children? That's why we voted Remain. Our economy has just started to recover from a massive financial crisis; the last thing we needed was a punt on an proven whim.
If you think there will be inward investment for Hull now we are leaving you are kidding yourself.

AgnesSkinner · 27/02/2018 21:11

Liam Fox - our new God

... or to give him his full title, the disgraced former defence secretary, Dr Liam Fox.

gussyfinknottle · 27/02/2018 21:12

Unproven whim - ha Grin

GhostofFrankGrimes · 27/02/2018 21:12

User, if my dc was hoping to join the police in a few years I’d be worried about the cuts being made to the police. I’d also be blaming those making the cuts. The British government.

Yes we do mummmy

We know this shit isn’t going to work, you just need to work it out for yourself.

Desperatelyseekingsun · 27/02/2018 21:14

user I guess a lot of people have mortgages dependent on Brexit being a success. Having looked at the forecasts we thought that ours needed a boost from a non Brexit dependent source. I certainly don't want my kids to get into serious debt for a decision they had no part in making and which is stripping them of rights they were born with.

mummmy2017 · 27/02/2018 21:14

And how many times do we need to explain that this is Happening, this is what will be, that your not going to be able to do ANYTHING , but accept it...

No matter how much you do nothing said here effects it.

That's not hard for anyone to understand, and it's not goading to say it, as it the Blooming TRUTH.

Hasenstein · 27/02/2018 21:14

*User"

"Instead of wasting time fighting it, the EU don't want us remember, we need to, well Government needs to follow through and make it work."

I thought we were the ones who wanted to leave. The EU have repeatedly said they'd be happy for us to stay.

And the government (as I suspect they know and as remainers have been saying for the past 2 years and more) can't simply "follow through and make it work". That's why they're in such turmoil and can only fall back on cliches and non-factual claims of future greatness. To follow through, you first need a plan to follow through on, but there isn't one.

user1471450935 · 27/02/2018 21:16

Yes Double no trade deal. I said we export pigs to China, my ex used to breed them, she was brilliant at AI in pigs, I can do same, but for cows, joys of youth working on pig/dairy farms.
Don't mention milk quota's to most uk dairy farmers, by the way.
Ghost, I know, but seeing most experience police officers are escaping with their pensions, as soon as 85 rule hits, their is a major recruitment drive on. He's already a cadet, and will study criminology starting in Sept, possibly with time in Hong Kong or America in year 3, and with option to study module in war crimes. Plus with an Irish and Northern Irish lecturers, interesting times

surferjet · 27/02/2018 21:16

Ooh don’t ruin it for me, Liam Fox is easier to spell than Jacob Rees Mogg. < love ya too Jakey baby 😘 >

surferjet · 27/02/2018 21:17

Lolz Faith.

Doubletrouble99 · 27/02/2018 21:20

So I'm deluded Talkin! China has 14 free trade deals with all sorts of countries, mainly little ones granted like Iceland and Switzerland. The EU does not have a trade deal with China they have a trade and cooperation agreement which they've had since 1985 and have ben trying to upgrade this to an EU association agreement.
o no need for the put downs Talkin.

mummmy2017 · 27/02/2018 21:20

You let the blooming horse bolt, the darn thing is half way to Scotland.
This isn't a case of you catching it and putting it back in a box, it won't can't and isn't going to happen..

When one day this fact finally enters and remains in your brain, then and only then will you see how bizarre it is that you feel you have any more control of our future than anyone else on MN.

TM is the one doing this deal, JC is not the PM, He is the leader of the opposition, and if it all carries on , will be a major reason why we crash out with NO deal.
