This may be the last Brexit Arms thread that I will host.

It was intended to be a non-partisan and relatively light hearted thread for posters on both sides of the divide, but unfortunately this seems to have proved impossible so far.

It is not supposed to be a place for the disgruntled Remainer to use as an outlet to abuse and kick out at their perceived enemy.

I will give it one last go in the hope that things will change.

So.... onwards to Brexit....

The 8% is true Bear it was the 1% that was a made up number by a remainer whilst trying to be ironic.

lonelyplanetmum · 27/02/2018 18:10

Thank you figment for answering. Option 3 is the only one that makes sense to me. I can see some logic in that.

I think U.K. brews and craft beer has been mentioned as an example of part of the solution-which is great, in do far as it goes. But not sure that can go far enough towards replacing our 80% reliance on services and I am uncertain if that is part of the overall first, second or third option?

user
Look up who owns Sharps and where it is actually made
Look up who owns Gales and where it is actually made
Look up who owns Aspalls and where it is actually made
and you will realise that a free trade deal with the US would be incredibly damaging to the UK brewing industry
(and actually I've loved some of the US beers since Sam Adams first turned up on the scene 25 years ago)

This isn't Hull, but y'know Glasgow is a working class city..

300 jobs at risk as Ryanair cuts Glasgow routes due to Brexit

Looks like Mr Fox wasn't always the Brexiteers hero...

Figmentofmyimagination · 27/02/2018 18:20

Does anyone one else sometimes wish we were back in the old pre-Internet days, when it wasn't possible to see what others who disagree with you are thinking? That's possibly the most peculiar thing about brexit, to find that millions of people hold views that are not just slightly but instead diametrically opposed to mine, and hold them very strongly. I wonder if views become more entrenched because of the scope to argue anonymously like this.

DGRossetti · 27/02/2018 18:24

See Talkin and DG would rather buy foreign beers

You really are a bit thick aren't you ? I make my own - as I said up upthread. I await an apology for your slur.

TalkinPeace · 27/02/2018 18:29

when it wasn't possible to see what others who disagree with you are thinking
Yes and no.
"Letters to the Editor"
"Points of View"
group meetings of political parties who did not admit 'outsiders'

The "Echo chamber" was invented long before the internet

What has changed is that people outside the establishment have ways to communicate with each other directly
which may or may not be a good thing

Bear
Gussy said
Good luck with that op, I'm as mad as hell and won't be shut up
I replied
A warm Brexit arms welcome to gussy. Flowers and Cake, plus a warm handshake/hug or possibly Wine or Gin it's horrible outside. Can I ask if you mad because we are leaving or because we making a complete mess of it. I think that's in the spirit of the op. I hope you get a similar remain side too
Gussy Replied I'm mad because of vote to leave. I voted Remain. I've posted a lot on these threads and I'm pretty sick off being told to shut up and support a thing I disagree with. As you bloody were
I replied
Ok Gussy, Warm welcome still stands from me. It's horrible here, beast from the east, hitting Hull. After incident in Leicester, thought it would be nice to be friendly like op asked

See bear full exchange, warm welcome, reply, welcome still stands, Leicester incident, in my eyes makes it even more important, I still offer warm welcome & friendship.
Not once did I say it make leaver's right
I expect an apology I'm not holding my breathe you have form bear sadly.

user1471450935 · 27/02/2018 18:41

Great bear calls be a racist, bigoted xenophobe on last thread and now attacks a Leicester comment, Explained above.
Now DG calls be thick.
I believe I won Leavers Bingo, with full house.
Thick, Racist, Bigoted and Xenophobe
Whooppee.

DG I missed your home brew, god I hope it's better than in the 1970's.
So I will apologise, sorry
Will join Bear, if she ever apologises, and saying sorry for calling me Thick.
I have never insulted any one on here. Lets see

TalkinPeace · 27/02/2018 18:41

WTF does the Leicester explosion have to do with Brexit?

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 27/02/2018 18:47

Perhaps if he'd provided a source, you'd have been sated?

Is it really so difficult for you to think for yourself?
Must you be led by the nose to everything?

bearbehind · 27/02/2018 18:48

I absolutely will not apologise user, your comment about Leicester was ill judged and inappropriate.

gussyfinknottle · 27/02/2018 18:48

I agree, what on earth does the Leicester tragedy have to do with Brexit?

user1471450935 · 27/02/2018 18:48

Oh well,
Leaver plays nice, remoaners call names. Lovely
Leaver apologies, let see remoaners

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 27/02/2018 18:51

It's such a tired strategy user.

You'd think they'd be as bored of it as we are by now.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 27/02/2018 18:53

Incapable of using google.

Incapable of applying context.

Incapable of reading posts properly.

A life dedicated to tantrumming and sneering.

Who'd be a remoaner?!
Not me!

gussyfinknottle · 27/02/2018 18:55

Reading some of the silly posts on here is as edifying and informative as watching FoxNews.

surferjet · 27/02/2018 18:56

Good evening brexiteers Smile Wine
I think it’s time we ignored the remainers who refuse to bugger off - they’re like a stuck record. & a boring one at that.

gussyfinknottle · 27/02/2018 18:57

Yes, we just won't go away, will we?

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 27/02/2018 18:58

It's so difficult to ignore the constant bleating though.

SOURCE!
SOURCE!
SOURCE!

Here's a couple of nice pictures of our Nige to cheer everyone up...

GhostofFrankGrimes · 27/02/2018 19:01

I enjoy reading the leavers petulant posts, reminds me why Brexit will be so shit.

Any thoughts on the Ryanair cuts at Glasgow airport patriots?

user1471450935 · 27/02/2018 19:03

Because 5 poor people died, 5 more in hospital, one seriously ill.
I offer a WARM WELCOME, gussy replied they are a remainer
I has a leaver said oh well still stands, my warm welcome.
There fuck all chance you lot would A) would offer warm welcome and B) leave it open to a leaver.
But I am different, couldn't care less if you voted leave/stay it's a pub, come in be warm stay and chat.
For you remoaners, Leicester in my VIEW AND MY VIEW ONLY, makes more fucking important to be nice to each other, YOU MIGHT BE DEAD TOMORROW, so compared to Leicester, this thread is peanuts
So nothing to do with Brexit, just one person being nice to another over the internet.
You know what humans do, or did until brexit, actually still do in Hull/ERYC
I really hope that explains it, sorry to derail

gussyfinknottle · 27/02/2018 19:06

I'm perfectly nice and warm to the Leave voters I know in real life. Don't need a tragedy to make me that way.
However, I'm still allowed to shake my head in despair at Leavers on here .
If discussing Brexit is triggering for you I suggest you look elsewhere.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 27/02/2018 19:09

If discussing Brexit is triggering for you I suggest you look elsewhere.

This is precisely the advice that numerous angry remain posters on these threads have been given countless times, yet they continue to pick at the scab.
