LondonMum8 · 23/02/2018 14:34

Hahaha. Oh dear, it's not easy.. I only managed to land the country in a bit of a mess. Apparently that's a win... Pffft. I guess I should have gone for the red bus message and liberal use of fake news rhethoric. The 'win' message itself could be fake news. Anyone managed a better result?

Your Brexit would be...
A bit of a mess

Oh well, given where we are today, a bit of a mess is probably as good as we can hope for - so consider yourself a winner!

MichaelBendfaster · 23/02/2018 14:46

I got 'a bit of a mess' too, but I think that as an outcome from those questions and answers is wildly optimistic!

LondonMum8 · 23/02/2018 14:55

I'm sure a proper Brexiter would do a better job than us. It's def worth a shot.

AgnesSkinner · 23/02/2018 15:17

I tried plugging in the middle option for most of the answers and got ... a dismal failure

Oh dear, it seems as if Brexit under your stewardship would likely see the nation suffer measurable harm. Consider yourself right up there with Theresa May!

Plug in the Johnson / Davis option c answers and you get ... an unmitigated career ending disaster (we can only hope).

Christ on a bike. Are you determined to see the nation go to hell in a hand basket? Either you're a rabid UKIP-supporting Eurosceptic, or you're David Davis playing out a hopeful few scenarios.

LondonMum8 · 23/02/2018 15:35

Sorry to hear about your Brexit negotiations difficulties Agnes. You know we can hardly claim having arrived at the definitive answer here by simply always choosing a, b or c throughout. There are what, 10 questions? If so there would be about 60k ways to choose the answers! Surely there must be a better way!

Perhaps we remainers should just take charge, as it seems we get the best results.

That's not fair, we haven't heard from them yet. I'm sure a combination of faith, hope, and global outlook will yield a superior outcome.

probably wildly inappropriate, but there was a nice gag in Private Eye about Faith and Hope steering clear of Charity nowadays ...

...it's also packed full of pretty spot-on Brexit humour. And a load of "cancel my subscription" type letters from the people who post here a lot (maybe why it's so quiet Hmm). Meanwhile, to paraphrase Nathan Hale, I regret I only have one subscription to purchase .....

LondonMum8 · 23/02/2018 16:34

I feel that the standards of propriety here have been set when FHCD skipped a dose and started calling me a fucking bitch.

TalkinPeace · 23/02/2018 16:41

I think the killer question so far has been
if you trust the legislators, will you be happy for them to keep you in the customs union
it was clearly an option they had never considered and it seems to have scared them all off Wink

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 23/02/2018 16:53

I feel that the standards of propriety here have been set when FHCD skipped a dose and started calling me a fucking bitch.

You deserved it, and I have already lamented on this thread that I didn't fully convey my disgust or hatred for the way you conducted yourself with respect to another poster.

LondonMum8 · 23/02/2018 16:58

@FaithHopeCharityDesperation don't get me started on what you deserve, but you see - I can control myself... Impressive, huh?

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 23/02/2018 17:15

@FaithHopeCharityDesperation don't get me started on what you deserve,

Please share!
Although unlike you, I really couldn't give a fuck what random anonymous posters on MN think of me, so there's probs nothing in it for you to do so.

LondonMum8 · 23/02/2018 17:33

@FaithHopeCharityDesperation

"Please share!"

Nope, and there is no need really. I'm sure it'd be nothing you and others aren't already aware of. Most importantly: the standards, remember? Mine are evidently higher than yours and I'd like to keep it that way.

BTW Remember that the Internet anonymity is fairly illusory :)

LondonMum8 · 23/02/2018 18:37

It's Friday evening in The Brexit Arms and the quiz has been disappointingly one-sided so how about a cross post from "Returning to the UK" forum:

"@HappyFeet1212

Do you have jobs lined up already?
The jobs market is dire, mostly hidden at the moment by out of contract free lancers, but people are starting to close their businesses.
Professional jobs outside London haven't ever been this bad in the past 20 years."

...

Inkanta · 23/02/2018 19:26

"don't get me started on what you deserve, but you see - I can control myself... Impressive, huh?"

You're such the panto villain on this thread - mwwaaahhh!! Grin

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 23/02/2018 20:10

You say panto villain, I say twat.

Tomayto/Tomahto etc.... WinkGrin

TalkinPeace · 23/02/2018 21:07

faithhope
and back in the real world ......
its looking more and more like staying in "a" customs union will be the outcome
are you happy with how the three brexiteers have argued your case ???

user1471450935 · 23/02/2018 21:43

Good news in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, is that both in Hull and Lincoln, SIEMENS, a famous little Englander company, is continuing to invest in its 2 plants and expand employment. In Hull it is backing local UTC school and FE colleges and in Lincoln is heavily invested in the city's university.
Plus we have British steel making record profits and exports, plus further European companies investing in the likes of Crown Paints.
Still happy that Brexit, won't be the disaster sold to us by D Cameron and Co, and happily waiting to see what comes in next year.
The EU is famous for fudging all deals, sure it will fudge something to keep Brexit safe.
Because it can hurt them just as much as us.
I'm no reader like Talkin, but seem to believe many senior bankers think New York, would be the big winners, if London loses out.
Not sure EU will like that

user1471450935 · 23/02/2018 21:54

I wonder how many of you, who all think we will end up either staying in or pretending to never leave, live in London and SE or have ever left an urban area.
Because if you had lived in much of the NE, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, and Wales, you would have know well before June 2016, the chances of remain winning was neigh on impossible, whether UK or EU governance fault, most people wanted out.
In fact in most of the above regions, it was more like 60-70% leave.

TalkinPeace · 23/02/2018 21:54

user1471450935
And now the world shrinks
I happen to know a senior manager at the Hull Siemens plant
They have plans to mothball the lot within weeks if hard Brexit happens.
Hull is cheap as part of Europe.
Not as part of Europe its the arse end of nowhere.

Business and politics are not the same thing.
Companies can and do move at lightning speed.
THey will shaft those who do not play their game

TalkinPeace · 23/02/2018 21:56

user1471450935
PS
Having spent time in and around Louth,
Brexit was not a surprise
BUT
that was down to communication not conent

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 23/02/2018 22:03

Also heard that Airbus has said it will continue to carry on with British operations 'long into the future'.
So much for leaving in the event of a leave vote.
