Long term lurker on EU threads.
De lurked, to give Mshoolie an online hug and Flowers and Cake.
I hope you feel in a better place soon, depression is awful. Lost my father to it.
Please seek rl help if you can.
I backed walking away from these threads.
I too need counselling two deaths in family when young adult. My couseller told me to leave these threads, thinking too much.
Please conventrate on yourself and your wonderful children. it is never as bleak as it seems please remember this.

Final thing, as a remain voter, I find it preverve that people can blame things like this a the door of leaver votes. They just carried their democratic right. Would you blame a Labour/Tory voter. NO. So please stop attacking leave voters. I may have disagreed in 2016, but not now, they have their right to vote anyway they wanted and their own views. You may disagree with those views but allow them to hold them and support their right to hold them. If not.we.will end up with dictationship.
Once Flowers,Cake and hugs to anyone with depression or survivors of it, it is truely shit

They just carried their democratic right.

Democracy is a great power, and with such comes a great responsibility. Right? The people can vote Nazis in and cause unimaginable suffering plus 50 mln casualties worldwide. The people can vote for Brexit and wreck the country, etc. The people should think very hard and be responsible rather than allow themselves to be driven by low emotions and motivations. If they don't, they do own the results (along with the politicians responsible of course).

By that rationale the maiming & death of hundreds of thousands of men, women & children are a stain on the conscience of all those who voted for labour under Tony Blair.

Fucking murderous labour voters should own the results of their actions.

Do you see how silly you're being Londonmum?
Very, very silly indeed.

The other thread's close to running out now I think?
It was quite a good one in the end.

I disagree with the comment about this vote being like voting for a party then not being responsible for one of their decisions.

Voting Tory or Labour or for whoever else is usually based on who's policies you most align yourself with.

It's very rare that someone would agree with everything one party says/ does plus policy decisions change or get introduced during a party's tenure and the voting electorate cannot influence those decisions.

The referendum was 1 specific question therefore those who voted for it do need to take accountability for the fact that the negative repercussions, what ever they may be, are entirely of 'their' doing.

Exactly Bear. Someone voting for Labour couldn't really predict that outcome. In contrast to the Brexit vote, where you could argue there were slightly too many warnings (even if most well justified). The people decided they know better.

It has been an excellent thread throughout. The next one should have its name corrected to "The Brexit Farms" though.

As despicable as I find the Leave vote , as PRIVATELY contemptuous as I am of Leave voters (including people I love, I would not blame them for anyone's emotional distress even if that is aggravated by uncertainty around Brexit. And I am very old and have seen many dreadful results in UK democratic elections/referenda.
I hope MsHoolie gets the help and support they need in RL.

Not this thread, a different one.

This one has been an echo chamber of smuggery.

Thank you everyone and sorry for hijacking the thread. I was just having a particularly bad day yesterday.
I am going to do my best to stay off these threads but they’re a bit addictive.
I’m going to stick to the litter tray threads for a while and just look at cute pictures of cats Smile

@gussyfinknottle: It's quite kind of you to let the Leave voters of the hook. I mean we could assume they have very little effective autonomous agency, i. e. they are just poor victims of clever manipulation by right-wing media and rank spivs like Farage and Johnson, but that would mean it's no longer democracy: it's idiocracy. If we believe in true democracy, we have to take responsibility for our voting decisions.

@MsHooliesCardigan glad you are feeling better. I could not agree more: they are a bit addictive Grin

Please do not blame yourself for one second, as you can see we are good in the end :)

Why does someone keep stating these threads?
I know I have no control over what people post on this board, but as the original thread starter it’s really annoying me.
I made a decision MONTHS ago to not start anymore Brexit Arms threads, simply because all we got was abuse from remainers. The Brexit Arms threads are only benefitting remainers, it’s a place they can come & attack leavers.
I’m convinced β€˜Brexit Arms landlady’ is a remainer desperate to have a place to unload all his/ her anger. Please Leavers - stop enabling them !

Yes really enjoyed it, added another post to it, saw an article this morning on bbc website, about JRM and hecklers. He confirmed what the majority said on that thread, I still don't approve of most of his policies, but I totally admire him as a person, and wouldn't be totally scared of him in government.
Hope you are well.

As you say, nonsense.

However one of the things about democracy - bearing in mind how important it is to kill people who don't want us to have it - is that it (to me) it does impose a collective obligation on the whole population ... we are all responsible for the actions of our government.

Or to put it another way, when we bombed the Germans 1939-1945, we didn't really put much research into developing "Nazi only" bombs.

Well all have to live under the law - even if we didn't support it or vote for it. That's democracy.

We tried saying "not in my name", but it doesn't really work.
