I am really pleased the blue (very dark navy to be pedantic) passport is a symbol it's also a clear signal that Brexit is happening hence the Remainers frothing fury. I've hated having to use an EU passport and will be changing that fucker ASAP

Countless posts yesterday from posters who are so outraged at the colour change & saying they will 'miss' their burgundy passports and 'hate' the idea of the colour change & you didn't think to ask that question to them?

Blue seems the right colour. It's the colour of refugee passports.
With no FOM, no workers' rights, no NHS and no homes for 100 000 children in the middle of winter, sounds like a place refugees would try to get out of.

Faith I don’t think anyone was really getting outraged about the colour changing. It was more about no longer having an EU passport and what that means.
I can’t understand how anyone would refer to their passport as ‘that fucker’ and saying that they were going to get it changed as quickly as they could because it says EU on it.

I think there will be a brief window between March and October 2019 when you can have a maroon passport without the EU branding. If this is correct (?) then they will surely turn out to be collectors' items.

DD1 has a blue US one so is not best pleased that the UK ones will now confusingly be the same colour. She may actually have to look properly when giving me palpitations rifling through the documents drawer.
