🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧

Thought I'd dust off the optics & open the bar for the festive period Xmas Smile

If any of the the old crowd are still around, then do pop in for a Christmas catch up & join me in toasting the end of the beginning!

Onward! To Brexit!

It's the way they try you put you down.
Then things I have said in the past happen.
I let you all have a go, as things i think are common sense see to pass you all by.

The UK was unhappy with that was.
Now even though both May and Corbyn who are party leaders have said no to a 2nd vote. it's held out like a Grail.
We want to stay in the SC if the deal is good for us, but you say this cant happen, so how does that work?
I say we will trade outside the EU, you act like it's a fairytale.

Bearbehind · 16/01/2018 20:40

faith, there's only one poster engaging in discussion. It's not an ambush, it's just conversing with who is responding.

You pop up, make random comments about other posters behaviour but add nothing to the actual discussion- there's only so far one can engage with that.

CardinalSin · 16/01/2018 20:41

Oh dear Mummy! It that the Brexiteer equivalent of "Your Mum!"?

Painful!

mummmy2017 · 16/01/2018 20:42

What do the EU want of the UK, can you tell me that, and we will work from that point.

CardinalSin · 16/01/2018 20:42

"Then things I have said in the past happen."

Really? Please tell...

AgnesSkinner · 16/01/2018 20:44

We want to stay in the SC if the deal is good for us, but you say this cant happen, so how does that work?

What’s the SC?

Bearbehind · 16/01/2018 20:44

mummy your last post made absolutely no sense.

This is a very simple question-

How can we stay fully aligned to the SM/CU and therefore not need a hard border in NI if we leave the SM/CU?

Answer- we pay for access so are worse off than we were before because we don't even get a say in the rules anymore.

Moussemoose · 16/01/2018 20:44

@FaithHopeCharityDesperation

The term "dog whistle" when referencing politics usually refers to subliminal racism.

When only one poster replies from a particular point of view then surely it is for posters who support them to join in not for others to desist?

Again that is how debates work.

"Oh no one else agrees with you. I will stop debating with you, feel free to believe you have made excellent points even though you haven't ." This is NOT how debates work.

mummmy2017 · 16/01/2018 20:47

That deal is not acceptable.
Please come back with a better offer.

Bearbehind · 16/01/2018 20:49

That isn't an option mummy

A 'better offer' would invoke favoured nation status with WTO, i.e. We would have better terms than other countries.

You really don't get this do you?

mummmy2017 · 16/01/2018 20:50

Which bit of Corbyn and May don't want a 2nd vote, didn't you understand?

mummmy2017 · 16/01/2018 20:52

There is a better offer, we go to WTO, and once there sort out trade deals...
It's just you don't want that to happen.
You see it seems we don't have to bow down and beg to the EU.
Or May wouldn't have appointed a minister for no deal.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 16/01/2018 20:56

The term "dog whistle" when referencing politics usually refers to subliminal racism.

To repeat for clarity - I did not reference politics in my post to Mummy.
I was referring to the repeated behaviour pattern of the remoaning collective.

Bearbehind · 16/01/2018 20:56

mummy we have effectively ruled out WTO because of our pledge that there will be no hard border in NI.

What part of that don't you get?

We can't use WTO without a border.

mummmy2017 · 16/01/2018 20:59

What part of WTO could stil happen don't you get?

It will be the EU who provide the border not us.

Bearbehind · 16/01/2018 21:00

Also, David Davis got the right hump because the EU are preparing for a no deal scenario, saying it hands UK business confidence, which proves we have absolutely no intention of going down that route despite all our hot air blowing.

Bearbehind · 16/01/2018 21:01

FFS mummy, it's not the provision of a border that is in question it's that it cannot exist under the GFA.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 16/01/2018 21:02

EU stated very early on their commitment to GFA. As did Ireland. It is UK leaving that threatens GFA.

Leavers wanted to control borders until someone pointed out NI existed.

Quite a mess.

mummmy2017 · 16/01/2018 21:02

Why on earth do you think there is a No deal Minster?
If in your opinion it couldn't happen.

OliviaD68 · 16/01/2018 21:02

@Bearbehind

We've effectively ruled out a DC FTA for the same reason: NI.

But no CU or SM, so closed NI border.

Mutually inconsistent constraints.

mummmy2017 · 16/01/2018 21:04

Teresa May has said she does't want a border and wants free movement.
It is the EU who are saying that can't happen, not the UK...

Bearbehind · 16/01/2018 21:05

Why on earth do you think there is a No deal Minster?

i have absolutely no idea because we cannot go down that route now we have pledged to having no hard border in NI.

It's just more abilly abig Bollocks bravado that most people can see straight through.

Honestly, how do you reconcile no border with WTO?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 16/01/2018 21:06

May wants her cake and to eat it (like most leavers). Ain't gonna happen.

CardinalSin · 16/01/2018 21:06

Er, Mummy, the Maybot didn't appoint a minister for no deal.

But don't let facts get in the way of your lovely delusion...

Bearbehind · 16/01/2018 21:08

it is the EU who are saying that can't happen, not the UK...

FFS, TM wants her cake and eat it.

Just because that's what she wants it doesn't mean it can happen.

TM doesn't want FOM of people so she can't have the other 3 freedoms.

Really, which part of that is confusing you?
