Westministenders: The Zombie PM

Back from the dead, May carries on whilst the vultures circle.

She had tried to out smart her rivals by running of to the palace to tell the queen she could form a government before they could act.

Definitely she stood and pretended nothing had changed. Except everything had. The wrath of her party was unleashed and there was open revolt. She has been summoned to appear before men in grey suits tomorrow at 5pm to hear their verdict.

How do she decide to make amends and reach out to moderate Tories? By sleeping with the DUP. And appointing Gove to her Cabinet.

How long will this last? How long can it last?

Stolen from another thread:

June wasn't the end of the May, but her attempt to do a deal with a party that likes to march in July might be...

Thanks Red.

She is humiliated but refusing to show it.

She is arrogantly trying to brazen it out, bury her head in the sand (publicly anyway) in the name of the "certainty" that she is now unconvincingly trying to exude.

Surely it cannot last long.

She doesn't want to admit that her precious "strong and stable" has turned "weak and wobbly" and has considerably weakened her position.

Thanks as always Red

annandale · 12/06/2017 00:17

Thanks Red.

I don't think it will only be the men in grey suits. I do think we are getting beyond that at last. Heidi Allen and Sarah Wollaston will be just as furious as anyone else, and probably also Amber Rudd though she won't show it in public.

My ex-MP appeared to be a May loyalist, possibly explaining why she is an ex.

From the previous thread:
"If the Brits were to reconsider... we could talk" EU Spokeswoman on #Marr opens a door for Remain

I do not consider this an invitation to talk about soft Brexit.

I think 'reconsider' means reconsider Brexit in its entirety.

The EU cannot let the UK have its cake and eat it too because others might follow suit, or rekindle the hopes of the anti-EU forces of the Right

MirabelleTree · 12/06/2017 06:12

Thanks RedFlowers

It's going pretty well for the EU. Vote to leave and your country breaks down in chaos. Not exactly leading to the domino effect we were told would happen, more like the superglue effect.

DH and I Grin every time we remember it was Teresa May who warned about being the nasty party.
