For anyone worried about post Brexit gin supplies fear not. Scotland now produces more gin than whisky. Gin

I cannot wait to see what Donald Tusk's already drafted 48 hour response to TM's A50 letter is going to look like.

Feeling chipper this am after listening to Mervyn in Brexit upbeat mood on Newsnight. He even seems to agree with me that Scotland can be Independent if it likes without making much difference.

He had interesting thoughts on NI, suggesting differential tax rates from rest of UK to harmonise with Ireland and improve trade and cut down on border issues.

lol

Olympiathequeen · 21/03/2017 10:30

Great. whisky is vile to me ever since I got drunk on it and puked everywhere Gin is definitely my tipple.

boredofbrexit · 21/03/2017 10:39

steady on howabout, you are inviting a unicorn invasionGrin

howabout · 21/03/2017 10:52

Bored it's bad enuff the England away football team playing in Scottish blue after our lads adopted their natty pink away strip. If we do decide to disentangle the coat of arms then Scotland gets to keep the Unicorn Grin

boredofbrexit · 21/03/2017 11:06

'Theres more unites us than divides us' even if its only football kitGrin

Brexit to be triggered March 29th: 556th Anniversary of Battle of Towton, the bloodiest war in English history: 1% of the population died.

howabout · 21/03/2017 11:51

Inflation story is Worldwide, not really Brexit thing. For comparison German inflation is 2.2% with wage growth of 1.8% and they have had a currency appreciation against sterling.

Badders123 · 21/03/2017 12:00

Rather large rise though

But yeah

Let's all pretend it's not a thing

Anon1234567890 · 21/03/2017 12:06

I remember the days when 2% inflation was considered low. Does this mean we will finally see some returns on our savings?

Anon1234567890 · 21/03/2017 12:14

Anniversary of Battle of Towton

Like the House of York were we are also heavily outnumbered (27:1). And like the House of York we will end up victorious.

I haven't drunk gin since 1998 when I decided a full bottle only needed one small bottle of tonic as a mixer.
I had no glass either, just poured the tonic straight in the bottle and went with that...

I was on an outward bound type week & spent the next day puking bright green vomit onto the beautiful Welsh mountains.

🤢 🤢 🤢

squishysquirmy · 21/03/2017 12:22

There's a difference between inflation driven by rising wages, and inflation driven by rising costs while wages stagnate though.
It may not be so bad for those with savings, assets and a high income. Not so much for those who are already struggling to pay the bills, nor for those who face job insecurity. But then all us remoaners keep getting told we are "the elite", so maybe I should stick my head in the sand, and laugh at the liberal tears of my friends who are worried about the roof over their children's heads.

SemiPermanent · 21/03/2017 12:26

Merv was quite relaxed about the whole shebang howabout.

Quite a soothing break from the catastrophising elsewhere.

squishysquirmy · 21/03/2017 12:27

Yes, a battle fought to decide which power hungry noble would be king, in which 1% of the country (you know, ordinary people) died. I wouldn't try to stretch the analogy too far, Anon as it doesn't reflect so well on your "victory".

Badders123 · 21/03/2017 12:29

Victorious?

Erm...the tudors?.....

squishysquirmy · 21/03/2017 12:32

Its all just pub banter, a bit of fun. We aren't here to discus the serious details of Brexit .

GhostofFrankGrimes · 21/03/2017 12:37

Car prices set to rise
Food prices up
Inflation food
Fuel up.

Quite the time to celebrate.
