Rufus - it was to do with the Tony Blair thing.

The Messiah said yesterday that whilst he 'respected' the way people voted, they should have the chance now to change their minds to vote the 'right' way.
He was pretty unveiled in his painting Leave voters as stupid, and obvs chucked in his racist slant (Leavers who voted due to the surge of immigration which he facilitated, thought it was Eastern European immigration that they were bothered about, but really it was non eu immigration).

As The Messiah was the reason we went to war in Iraq & Afghan, that was where the 'thick ignorant people fought your wars' came from.

Wrt are all the armed forces Leavers, well no - there's a hugely varied demographic within the forces - but there's a universal contempt of Blair.
Anecdotally, most of the current & former service personnel that I know (hundreds), voted Leave (if their FB posts are to be believed).
Only a small handful were Remainers.

This is a post by an American poster on Quora. Many parallels with here:

'I voted for Obama, but after watching him for eight years and seeing what he did (or did not do) and how he did it, I was very disappointed. He lied to me about ObamaCare when he said I could keep my doctor and insurance plan. That affected me a lot and there were many other issues too. Then I saw all the mean protesters supporting Hillary and anti-Trump and I did not want any part of that anarchy. I then voted Republican for the first time and I am now going to watch Trump to see if he cares about the average citizen in a peaceful and civilized way. Time will tell if he can make America great again. So far, it appears that he is headed down the right road. On the other hand, when I still see all the masked protestors burning cars and breaking windows representing the “progressive” point of view, I do not think I will ever vote Democratic again. Their new name should be the “regressive” party. I am also tired of them calling anything that is contrary to their viewpoint a racist, homophobic, misogynistic, xenophobic, etc. How radical and immature! Trump is a breadth of flesh air, gradeA.'

Mind you, I'm not that delighted that the first monster to appear from the drained swamp is Tony Blair.

  1. Tony and Cherie...who would Adolf and Eva it?
SemiPermanent · 18/02/2017 17:18

Am actually wondering now if smallfox was really Cherie Blair ShockShockShock

surferjet · 18/02/2017 17:22

SouthallGirl · 18/02/2017 18:16

Last year, a poster on another MN thread, made statements that have stayed with me and TB being back has reminded me of that post. This is when Cameron was PM. She said:

The Left does not need to win elections anymore as they have their hands firmly grasped around all the levers of the State. The Left dominates the education systems - teachers, schools, unis that receive EU funding. The Healthcare system is riddled with Left wing unions such as Unite, Unison, BMA, politicised junior doctors, brainwashing us to believe we need more migrants to keep it going. All these groups run the country, the Tories are just the elected government. In fact, the Left runs the country via public outcry.

Various benefits need tightening - the Left outcry and the Tories drop that plan. School improvements by Gove - Left outcry again, Gove is removed as education minister. We have a social democratic heir to Blair's New Labour gov that governs on the basis of who shouts loudest.

PenelopeNitStop · 18/02/2017 18:25

Thanks for the welcome and Wine. I'll just flump over in the corner, panting, after those other threads........

TheFullMrexit · 18/02/2017 18:27

Very sobering southhall. Very sobering. And frightening and very true.

surferjet · 18/02/2017 18:35

SouthallGirl oh absolutely - shouting down anyone who has concerns about immigration as racist - anyone who votes ukip is a fascist Hmm so people shut up for fear of being seen as an 'undesirable' it's all part of their master plan to take control of people's behaviour.
What does that remind you of? Hmmm...
Brexit was a vote against all that which is why they're so angry.

SouthallGirl · 18/02/2017 19:06

But all these fighting, shouting people here and in USA sound as if their way back to their sect has been barred. They do sound like those people who have been brainwashed by a sect and are kidnapped by members of their own families to save them by undergoing deprogramming. It takes ages apparently ...... they snarl, spit and fight those who love them and want the original person back.

Perhaps that inculcation has come about thru State education in GB. I feel that for the last 40 yrs education has been dumbed down, debate and critical thinking is no longer taught. And we all know that if a young person can think for themselves, then they can work things out for themselves and see things objectively and not thru the a socialist prism.

History is not taught in a coherent way so that pupils can understand the sequence of events, and why something came about. I have a theory and that is - it takes about 50 years to produce an ignorant family of 3 generations; children, parents and grandparents. If little Johnny asks a question of mum & dad who will not know, he runs to grandparents, who also know f**k all and ditto his friends' families.

It is easier to govern this type of individual and is I suspect desired by some govts. There will always be the highly educated classes to carry out all necessaries for the running of a country.

PenelopeNitStop · 18/02/2017 19:40

Southallgirl, I completely agree. The lack of critical thinking is shocking, and seems to correlate with people who bang on all the time about their rights, with no care for their responsibilities.

Currently sparring with Bearbehind on the "have you changed your mind" thread. God, it's exhausting. No original thought, just "but why, but why, but why"? Aaaargh!

boredofbrexit · 18/02/2017 19:54

Can you imagine some intimate convos:

'To hell with the status quo dear, lets try something a bit different tonight.''What? Why? Its fine as it is. Give me your reasons for wanting a change'. 'Well, I've been feeling a bit overlooked and that maybe I could have a bit more of a say in things' 'Feelings!!! Fucking feelings! Thats not good enough. I need hard data and evidence'😂😂😂

boredofbrexit · 18/02/2017 20:02

penelope...i am afraid that bear is one of those 'computer says no' types, bless her.

surferjet · 18/02/2017 20:03

No original thought, just "but why, but why, but why"? Aaaargh!

Exactly why I don't bother going on any other ref thread - too much like torture.
I voted leave because I wanted to leave the EU - end of. I don't have to explain myself to some random on the internet.
