"If I remember correctly there was some mutual backslapping between Kaija & Darth about their systematically 'taking down' of Claig & the Trump thread."

You most certainly do not remember correctly. What I said at the time was that it was annoying that the thread had been deleted. Backslapping?

SouthallGirl · 31/01/2017 10:12

I loved Trump's comment on SCHUMER yesterday..

"“I noticed Chuck Schumer yesterday with fake tears,” Trump told reporters at a listening session with business leaders in the White House on Monday. “I'm going to ask him who is his acting coach. 'Cause I know him, and I don't see him as crier".

Keep it coming, Trump, keep it real man.

SemiPermanent · 31/01/2017 10:17

Ha ha yes it's those pesky liberal elites out marching and protesting, not ordinary people worried about a facist! Who knew there were so many of them.

Shame they aren't so outraged by other things.
I don't remember co-ordinated, countrywide, shouty protests about:

Cologne
Rotherham
Turkey
Etc etc etc

A politician doing exactly what they said they would - ANARCHY!

Star to Kaija & Darth if this is true. Well done. Kudos. Claig was well dodgy.

Headfullofdreams · 31/01/2017 10:22

Listen up liberal elites marchers, unless you march against every single injustice in the world, then you aren't allowed to march against something you feel very strongly about. All stay home from now on. Semi has spoken.

Inkanta · 31/01/2017 10:25

'I do not recall such a protest by women in England following Cologne2016. What does that say about the feminists of today?'

I also do not recall a great Women's March when 1.600 girls were sexually exploited in Rotherham for over 16 years.

Kaija · 31/01/2017 10:27

User, it's not true. Claig got fairly wild on the last thread, and was most likely reported, but certainly not by me.

Kaija · 31/01/2017 10:29

Headful, yes quite.

woman12345 · 31/01/2017 10:29

Well why don't you organise one Inkanta ?

Inkanta · 31/01/2017 10:32

'Woman drawing attention to what looks to me like fake moral outrage.

His great-grandmother was a refugee from the Nazis, most of her children were murdered in the Holocaust. Do you think perhaps his tears were real?

SemiPermanent · 31/01/2017 10:33

Far better to protest against the fact that a politician didn't lie, than against the other stuff.
Quite right.
Priorities etc.

Inkanta · 31/01/2017 10:34

No - not true.

Brexit: will leave our country in a terrible spot. Without the friendly and strong alliance of our European neighbours and without the economic and security collaboration, we are left vulnerable. We have already sold many British assets to oversea's investors. We needed (and need) the EU. Within the EU we would have been strong, we could have done more to lead the EU rather than vote UKIP MEPs who only ever took their pay checks, played truant not attending any meetings (scroungers) and undermined our power within the EU, they are the traitors of this country.

Trump / Bannon: The Luuurve Brexit. It allows them to treat the UK (or what will be left of it after Brexit, so England and Wales maybe) as their bitch.

Russia: Loves Brexit. Probably promoted and helped Brexit along through use of Social media as they are currently doing in German and France. That's not conspiracy, it's a fact.

Brexit will weaken us. We will collaborate with the US and Russia, possibly only with the US. Trade will be much less lucrative and secure after exiting the EU. NHS dismantled and sold off. Good night UK.

For what it's worth.

Kaija · 31/01/2017 10:36

Well, Inkanta, it's all relative.

Headfullofdreams · 31/01/2017 10:37

I'm so proud my child has grown up to be Trump supporter, said no decent parent ever.

Thanks missmoon for responding to a Shock post! Needs to be said again and again.

Inkanta · 31/01/2017 10:40

'Well, Inkanta, it's all relative.'

Come on Kaija - you must feel a tiny bit of guilt surely.

user1484653592 · 31/01/2017 10:42

Oh on another note, I find it really funny to think of myself as liberal 'elite' just because I am pro REMAIN and find Trump dangerous. I am currently unable to have my (old second-hand) car serviced, my washing machine is out of warranty and has just broken down and I am unable to cover the cost for this for another 2-3 months. I don't feel terribly privileged or part of the 'elite'.

surferjet · 31/01/2017 10:44

woman12345 - the problem a lot of us have on here is that these Brexit & Trump protests are seen as 'trendy' - it's safe & cool to rage against the 'white man'
I'd be backing you all the way if you were equally outraged at the incidents Inkanta mentioned in her earlier post. But there were no petitions or marches by lefties & feminists on the scale we're seeing here, even though these awful incidents involved sexual assault and rape of women.
I'm more outraged at that.
People denied entry into the US, I couldn't give a fuck.

surferjet I'll take that as a compliment Grin thanks!

Kaija · 31/01/2017 10:47

Why on earth would I feel guilty, Inkanta?

Ontopofthesunset · 31/01/2017 10:59

Some seriously screwed up thinking here.

For the avoidance of doubt, 'liberals' are just ordinary people. They are not some tiny elite other group. In the US election, if we very crudely categorise all votes for candidates other than Trump as 'liberals', there are more ordinary liberals in the US than there are ordinary 'not liberals'. In the UK, the vast majority of Tory voters would be considered 'liberals' in the US sense of the word.

Just because someone doesn't protest at one thing doesn't mean they can never protest at anything.

What happened in Rotherham was abhorrent. But it doesn't have the worldwide ramifications of the actions taken by the current US administration. I don't know how to explain it any more simply than that. Everyone needs to be very afraid of this administration, probably especially those that voted for it.

surferjet · 31/01/2017 11:08

Just because someone doesn't protest at one thing doesn't mean they can never protest at anything

Of course. But what people choose to protest about - or not protest about - says a lot about them.
Some people are more scared of being called racist than they are to protest loudly about certain things. I'm not sure I can take those sort of people seriously. To me, they're just playing it safe whilst trying to look like saviours of the world.
It's all bullshit.
