THE BREXIT FALLOUT CONTINUES - THREAD NINE

The Tories have settled their scores and May is now PM.
Is it May's Day or May Day for the people?

After careful consideration I thought the best way to sum up the Labour Contest was in one simple picture. May Day, might also be appropriate here too.

----------------

Things are moving fast, so hold on tight for the Brexit Ride

Sense of humour compulsory. No experience necessary though

Theresa May's reputation for competence lasted a few hours. @BorisJohnson will spend more time apologising to nations he's offended
8:43 PM - 13 Jul 2016

Tim Farron's new job appears to be heckling everyone and everything. Shame he doesn't expend that much energy in more positive pursuits.

Labour MP: "All these new Secretary of States mean another reshuffle or even more vacancies in shadow cabinet ..."

oh yeah. where are our Opposition leaders?

So she's put all the right wingers in charge of foreign positions. Does this mean she'll put all the moderate conservatives in domestic roles. Therefore she keeps both parts of the party happy at the same time as they are focused on their pet projects?

So the new Govt's top tier is May, Hammond, Boris, Rudd, Fallon, Davis and Fox. Not massive on charisma, but quite a hard arse team.

Tories had new PM and full Cabinet in less time than Corbyn's reshuffle (probably)

I was feeling more optimistic today- but boris?
She must know he's hated (in my house) throughout the world, surely?

hope so Red. I really want her to do something with Health and Education and I hope that she doesn't think NM or JH are the answer to anything.

Davis and Fox get on terribly. Won't be an easy working relationship.

Yeah red, I think that's quite a statement isn't it- it kinda puts clear water between remainers and exitters too.

Boris could be the most amusing Foreign Sec since George Brown, who asked a woman in red for a dance & found she was the Archbishop of Lima

Hmm, if Farage likes it I instinctively don't. But, I still think (hope!), she's set them all up to clear up their own mess

Farage can't really complain at the Brexiters negotiating Brexit, it spiked his guns to some extent.

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson's first official meeting with President Obama will be interesting. Suggest it starts with the word "sorry"

How powerless and hopeless Labour MPs must feel as they watch Davis, Fox and Johnson march into Downing Street.

Leadsom - hopefully utter irrelevance.

Here is our new foreign secretary's thoughts on the president of Turkey:

There was a young fellow from Ankara
Who was a terrific wankerer
Till he sowed his wild oats
With the help of a goat
But he didn’t even stop to thankera.

According to Sir Humphrey Appleby, that's a distinct disadvantage Grin
