THE BREXIT FALLOUT CONTINUES - THREAD NINE

The Tories have settled their scores and May is now PM.
Is it May's Day or May Day for the people?

After careful consideration I thought the best way to sum up the Labour Contest was in one simple picture. May Day, might also be appropriate here too.

Things are moving fast, so hold on tight for the Brexit Ride

Sense of humour compulsory. No experience necessary though

The sight of Liam Fox's beaming, smug face is making me want to punch things.

So David Davis is Secretary of State for Exiting the EU, or Sexit for short?

So far, looking like the Tory right having more influence in Govt than for a generation - hard to square with Downing St speech earlier

Though this is worrying....

Glad Osborne got the Order of the Boot.

He was a woeful Chancellor.

Boris is a weird move.

So the brexiters control all the outward looking stuff - I guess that's appropriate- it's their shit storm.

Last foreign secretary to become prime minister was John Major, but he was Chancellor in between. Chancellor and Home Secretary far more common steps up to the top job.

Looks like that might be it for cabinet appointments tonight: The four top jobs, plus defence and two Brexit/trade positions now filled.

Teresa's speech didnt mention immigration. It didnt mention Brexit. Just one nation bollocks - same as DC said after the Scottish referendum.
She didnt say much at all really. She wont heal any rifts. Impossible job.
Trouble still looms.

I'm gobsmacked Amber Rudd was married to AA Gill. She deserves a medal for that alone.

Do you think Cameron and Osborne will sit on the backbenches laughing and joking together whilst throwing stuff at the front bench when Theresa's not in the house?

But it is right the brexiters have to see it through themselves.

Now I'm over the boris shock- I think it's quite wily.

I can only imagine what all the foreign leaders will say to him!

She must be playing the long game. Surely. I'm still in shock over BJ, can't focus on the other appointments.

Twice as many men as women in the top government roles. Not a great advance, given how committed May is to equality.

@Nigel-Farage
The appointment of @DavidDavisMP & @LiamFoxMP to Brexit and International Trade roles are inspired choices. I feel more optimistic now.

Oh, great news!

'I'm gobsmacked Amber Rudd was married to AA Gill. She deserves a medal for that alone.'

Me too! I assumed he always been with The Blonde.

(although AA Gill was very pro Remain so I softened a bit towards him when I learnt that).

Now let me think, what high-profile cabinet job can someone cock up in but ruin only their own career, not their party's electoral chances?

George Osborne threw himself on a hand-grenade for Remain, even though he argued against a referendum. Stuck with Cameron till the end.
