Teresa May or Andrea Leadsom?

So without starting anything too politically fraught I wonder if people would share with me who they prefer for conservative leadership out of the two.

The race is now down to them and so we will have a female PM again!

Opinions?

May - at least we know what we are getting

MajesticSeaFlapFlap · 07/07/2016 17:24

Do you want to eat a live tarantula or fellate John McCririck?

The women are taking over

If it means less chance of an illegal war, bring it on.

Funnily enough, I've had women bosses more than men over the past 30 years - in IT ....

HelpfulChap · 07/07/2016 17:26

Agreed. I had 2 female bosses for many years. No complaints.

StrictlyMumDancing · 07/07/2016 17:27

Do you want to eat a live tarantula or fellate John McCririck?

Anyone else have two alternating bad images they can't shake now? Shock

HelpfulChap · 07/07/2016 17:29

How big is the Tarantula?

Toofondofcake · 07/07/2016 17:32

Yeah the tarantula/McCrirrick imagery is powerful!

OP posts:
Ilovemygsd · 07/07/2016 17:32

I'm gonna say may. Only because I think she seems less of a leader and easier for Labour beat in the next GE 🙈

FlushingNotBlushing · 07/07/2016 17:32

Maybe frame it thus - who can you imagine having a convo with The Donald? Because it's just getting madder n madder.

caitlinohara · 07/07/2016 17:32

Do you want to eat a live tarantula or fellate John McCririck?

Thanks for that, both images now burned into my brain. Confused

I think the media is doing a great job of making Leadsom seem incompetent, so my opinion is being swayed by that. Do you want competent but evil, or incompetent but (possibly) less evil? Confused

squoosh · 07/07/2016 17:33

Who does the tarantula represent and who is McCririck's cock?

Alfieisnoisy · 07/07/2016 17:34

Never mind those two....consider Michael Gove as Chancellor. I suspect he will be either Chancellor or Deputy.

Scary thought.

Globetrotter100 · 07/07/2016 17:34

Andrea Leadsom and her -allegedly- astronomically embellished "city" CV would finish what little Theresa May will leave the city of London with....

My vote must be for the tarantula.

3amEternal · 07/07/2016 17:35

Leadsom seems a nut job. Always worries me when they start banging on about speaking to God...exaggerated CV...sound bites...no substance...no experience in government.

I think someone cautious, experienced and sensible is exactly what we need after all this mess created by male egos. So my vote goes to May (except I'm a labour supporter so won't get one).

StrictlyMumDancing · 07/07/2016 17:35

Oh god alfie that's far worse than a tarantula or mccriricks cock ShockShockShock

DoinItFine · 07/07/2016 17:38

Tarantula - Leadsom

McCririck's cock - May

Sucking a cock is more familiar than eating a hairy spider.

But might actually be worse.

BoreOfWhabylon · 07/07/2016 17:39

Nigel Farage supports Leadsom.

We live in strange times indeed when I find myself desperately willing Theresa May to be the next PM.

JudyCoolibar · 07/07/2016 17:43

If Leadsom is the answer to anything, I don't want to know what the question is.

WallisSimpson11 · 07/07/2016 17:43

Hillary for USA
May for UK

Never thought I'd see this happening!

LurkingHusband · 07/07/2016 18:17

consider Michael Gove as Chancellor. I suspect he will be either Chancellor or Deputy.

As I suggested upthread, if we're looking at "BAU" then Osborne stays as chancellor. It would help calm the markets a bit. Personally I would view that as a litmus test of the new PMs intentions.

Millyonthefloss2 · 07/07/2016 18:20

I think eating a tarantula would be preferable a lot less complicated afterwards.

Here is a link to a video about children who hunt and eat them. WARNING DO NOT CLICK IF YOU HAVE SPIDER ISSUES: Gorgeous children though.

Sorry - I realise this is a bit off-topic.

Minimammoth · 07/07/2016 18:21

Wallis add in Angela Merkel and Nicola Sturgeon. Now that will be a meeting....

PattyPenguin · 07/07/2016 18:22

I look at this way... If Leadsom is as batshit as she appears, by 2020 she could well have made the Tories unelectable.

The country's screwed anyway. Theresa May might just be able to spin her stint as doing her best, mitigating the worst effects, and perhaps get elected at a GE.

If we're going to be screwed, I'd much rather the Tories got royally screwed, too. It's their bloody fault in the first place.

DoinItFine · 07/07/2016 18:23

Good god, the last thing anyone needs is Osborne to stay on as Chancellor.

6 years of failed austerity is what got us into this mess.

And he is still committed to it.

TheFairyCaravan · 07/07/2016 18:35

😷😷😷😷 I was having my tea!

I'd prefer May. Anyone who thinks gay marriage hurts Christians isn't fit to run a bath let alone a country.
