March? What march?

Can anyone else find much news coverage of this 'democratic march against democracy'? Twitter is full of info, but tune into the news channels and you would be forgiven for thinking it wasnt happening. Kind of has the ring of 'nobody cares' really doesnt it?

A number of marchers posting on twitter seem to think they are geographically being removed from Europe, although I guess you could forgive them given the odd name given to the march itself 'March for europe'

Why is it not 'March for E.U'? Isnt that what they are really there for? Anyone else as confused as I am?

Future your anti intellectual leanings are a bit scary given what we've learnt from the history of the 20th century.

BMW6 · 02/07/2016 17:45

I really love the "Down with this sort of thing" - could be used at just about any protest and sums us up perfectly! Grin

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 02/07/2016 17:46

It must be a strange feeling to find yourself politically on the same side as a load of vile far-right extremists, though. If it was me, I'd be thinking about that.

whydidhesaythat · 02/07/2016 17:47

Come on mumsnet, don't bait the OP

Thefuturecouldbebright · 02/07/2016 17:48

IN short (CBA to repeat myself again) Because he is an overpaid, self appointed Dictat, who time and time again has shown utter disdain for the needs and concerns of the british people. He flat out refused to give any ground on the negotiations when He knew this vote was approaching. His interests lie in buddying up with huge corporations who want to squeeze small business out of the market. He isnt interested in Fair trade for all members, unless it suits his political objectives.

My honest Opinion, is that history will thank us for overiding this mans ambitions for a Political Autocracy! I say autocracy because it would be led by him alone, the puppeteer surrounded by the puppets.

Not an in depth detailed viewpoint from me, but a summary.

Thefuturecouldbebright · 02/07/2016 17:49

Under the greenwood, not even going to grace that nonsense with a response, as it would be about the 1000th time this week.

Future
And do you feel this is him personally? Could he not then be replaced with somehow better?

Or are you saying it is a structural problem?

Thefuturecouldbebright · 02/07/2016 17:52

How do we replace him? Vote him out democratically? Oh... Hang on.

OP posts:
whydidhesaythat · 02/07/2016 17:54

Is his appointment for an unlimited term?

How does his influence compare to that of Angela M?

whydidhesaythat · 02/07/2016 17:56

And was your objection to him your number one reason?

Thefuturecouldbebright · 02/07/2016 17:57

No why it wasnt my number one reason, I have given many others on previous threads.

And as for Merkel VS Jumcker I am not a political Analyst, so will need some time to ponder that question.

Ok sorry I have not been on them

I never really engaged- thought we would stay
I think the Scottish referendum lulled me into a false sense of security
Thing were good for my family:(

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 02/07/2016 18:01

it would be about the 1000th time this week.

Because it is an undeniable fact, that's why.

glitterbomb80 · 02/07/2016 18:01

whydidhesaythat we wouldn't bait the OP! How could we ever bait a master baiter?

Thefuturecouldbebright · 02/07/2016 18:03

No Greenwood, its an incorrect and divisive POV, which you seem incapable of climbing down from.

whydidhesaythat · 02/07/2016 18:07

I picked up from the OP that she felt sneered at as stupid for her vote

Rather than being anti ineffectual
Oops intellectual!

Well read Why, yes, thats exactly how I feel. But aparrently "that woe is me trope is utterly tiresome" so ironic humour it is... But cant do that either apparently! 😉

You keep telling yourself that OP, while you politically align yourself with Nigel Farage, BNP, EDL, Britain First.

whydidhesaythat · 02/07/2016 18:10

Well lets just not bait at all

< goes off to get inspired by the march again>
