You know there's a thing called Google reverse image search?
It shows that the picture you've posted on page 5 a placard saying 'old white people must die', which you've subtitled 'witty Remain banner anyone
clearly insinuating that it's a banner at today's protest, wasn't taken today.
There's no indication when it was taken, but it was tweeted by someone called Blacksmith back on June 27th, and featured on other websites and feeds before that.
For example it's also being used by a far-right website called '1966Nationalist'.
1966nationalist.tumblr.com/
It's about nine entries down, titled left wing are still unhappy over Brexit.. and they call us racists.. tut tut.
Hint: don't click that link if you hate swastikas. Sample headlines: 'White revolution is the only solution'. 'Another Holohaux Liar'. 'Defending your homeland is a racial responsibility'. Jo Cox's murderer was framed to legitimise attacks on British nationalists.
Is it any, any kind of wake-up call that you're circulating the same image as these guys? Do you still think it's terribly unjust that people are asking 'nonsense' questions about this?
Where did you find the image itself?
I know you're going to say you accepted, in good faith, it was a picture from today's march.
Or maybe you'll claim that posting it here was never supposed to imply it was a banner from today, despite placing it on a thread featuring banners from today, without any indication that your image is older.
But why would you stick it up here, keep it in circulation, without the most cursory attempt to check its origin?
And can you see that this, times one trillion bullshit photos, claims and figures, is why so many of us are acting 'superior' and throwing a 'tantrum' about the Brexit vote? This constant, toxic, unchecked torrent of unaccredited, unverified, inflammatory information, spreading through forums and social media, used to deliberately wind people up -- while simultaneously most citable research, reports and forecasts is dismissed out of hand as the doom-mongering project fear of useless experts.
