Can we laugh or cry yet?

Are you still sane?

Will this insanity ever end?

I don't know what to think. Once I think I have a handle on who the cunt du jour is there's a 'ah but they might just want you think that' style counter theory.

DoinItFine · 30/06/2016 22:15

The Labour Party should be all over this.

It is making me despair watching these ideological purists steal our opposition during thecworst political crisis in my lifetime.

Pragmatism is so important in a political leader.

I spoke to one of May's arch enemies tonight and even he is likely to support her

Well maybe Bear but it's a bit of a gamble. If a week is a long time in politics (and boy has it been!), two years is an eternity. I'm not sure Johnson has the attention span or the temperament to bide his time in a productive manner.

Peregrina · 30/06/2016 22:18

The Labour Party are infuriating me too. They should be absolutely hammering the Tories right now, because it's they who have created this mess.

I hope a good few current Labour MPs find themselves deselected in due course.

GingerIvy · 30/06/2016 22:20

What in the blazes is this nonsense with Angela Eagle? Is she putting herself out there or not?? Was it a bluff? Is anyone left in Labour? It's like a big old echoey chamber now.

Bearbehind · 30/06/2016 22:21

I know what you're saying mitzy but if you work on the theory BJ never expected to win the referendum but want to be PM, he was always in it for the long haul.

DC said he'd stand down before the next GE so that was always the timeline.

Winning the referendum fucked that right up so a quick rethink was required.

MitzyLeFrouf · 30/06/2016 22:23

You're probably right. The Tory party will implode at some stage and Johnson will be left standing like a big blonde cockroach.

MrsLupo · 30/06/2016 22:24

apparently 60,000 new members to the labour party. evidently people wanting corbyn to remain. maybe the work of the momentum group?

Tory infiltrators, is the rumour.

What in the blazes is this nonsense with Angela Eagle? Is she putting herself out there or not?? Was it a bluff?

Her constituency made it clear they backed him not her. Plus I think it was probably always a bluff anyway.

MitzyLeFrouf · 30/06/2016 22:24

He might want to go on a post referendum diet though. I'm not body shaming him, heaven forfend! But he's looking a bit unhealthy.

Muddlingalongalone · 30/06/2016 22:27

I concur with the theory that BJ will be back by the time 2020 comes round, unless labour get their arses in gear & look like winning the ge. He's not gonna be opposition leader is he?
Can't quite believe Gove is willing to sacrifice his career to be the fall guy though.

RedToothBrush · 30/06/2016 22:29

Jane Merrick ‏@janemerrick23 (The Independent)
Fallon and McLoughlin - big allies of George Osborne - backing @TheresaMay2016. This is so delicious

Rumours seem to be growing that Osborne had a hand in things.
Lots doing the rounds, including:

Nadine Dorries@NadineDorriesMP

So, it would appear that George Osborne was the machiavelli behind Gove's announcement.

Hmmmmmm......

Can't quite believe Gove is willing to sacrifice his career to be the fall guy though.

I don't think he is though, it's just another piece of the jigsaw.

They'll make damn sure he isn't one of the 2 names in the running.

That way Johnson and Gove both get to carry on as usual whilst the touch paper they lit explodes in everyone else's faces.

MitzyLeFrouf · 30/06/2016 22:32

I'm still laughing at Nadine Dorries Boris sobs. On the news they showed her grab onto a man's arm in shock at Johnson's announcement. Hee hee.

Somehow I doubt Nadine is privy to many Tory inside scoops.

RedToothBrush · 30/06/2016 22:33

The Tory party will implode at some stage and Johnson will be left standing like a big blonde cockwomble.

muddling

The Times - Johnson had tried to do deal with May re: him becoming PM later

Have Boris and Jeremy been stabbed in the back? Please can we have some leaders?
Chalalala · 30/06/2016 22:37

If Boris's calculation is that he'll make his glorious comeback in 2 years, he may be in for a surprise.

I could see Theresa May grab power and then never let go. Not in an evil dictator kind of way, more like an Angela Merkel kind of way.

MitzyLeFrouf · 30/06/2016 22:38

Cockwomble indeed, I shouldn't malign the cockroach's good name.

My brother refers to him as Humpty Cunty.

Chalalala · 30/06/2016 22:39

Every time, I think Labour have hit rock bottom and there's nowhere left but up to go.

And every time, I'm wrong Sad

Bearbehind · 30/06/2016 22:43

obi looks like the latest developments are plan B Revision 3 or 4 then Grin

Nevertheless, it just goes to show the power and inginuity behind BJ.

Shame really as, if those people set their minds to digging us out of this shit instead of helping Humpty Cunty (love that!) we'd be in a much better place.

Very interesting red

Not supporting Gove then- funny that Hmm

DollyTwat · 30/06/2016 22:48

I love this thread. Even though I sometimes have to jump to a certain time to get the latest comments everything is moving so fast!
I've just seen the Eagle woman on tv, she couldn't possibly be better than Corbyn or even me. I would come across better than that on tv

MaterofDragons · 30/06/2016 22:49

Boris does not look well. Bloated and sweaty.

RedToothBrush · 30/06/2016 22:49

Sun is carrying headline

'BREXECUTED'

about Johnson, which I rather like.
