Can we laugh or cry yet?

Are you still sane?

Will this insanity ever end?

I definitely heard he was set to declare half an hour before the deadline, but it doesn't mean he won't chicken out at the last second!

MitzyLeFrouf · 30/06/2016 10:42

If I were a politician I'd have 'don't trust any fucker' tattoooed on the insides of my eyelids. No room for pals in this game is there?

ThomasRichard · 30/06/2016 10:43

Not:

  • Gove
  • Boris
  • Eagle

Bring on, May? Confused

Have Boris and Jeremy been stabbed in the back? Please can we have some leaders?
Hamishandthefoxes · 30/06/2016 10:43

Sorry - I thought the guardian said Boris statement would be later but now I can't find it.

GingerIvy · 30/06/2016 10:43

Damn it ! I don't like Teresa May! Why does she have to be the most sensible and seemingly the best option?

Crabb is awful. I'm hoping the fact that he has less experience than the rest will mean people are not ready to hand him the top office.

MitzyLeFrouf · 30/06/2016 10:45

May's speech was good, especially the digs at the Etonians, most people in the Tory party at Westminster not having a clue how the other 99% live. That will resonate.

MitzyLeFrouf · 30/06/2016 10:46

Crabb doesn't have a chance. The most he can hope for is that this will raise his profile.

DoinItFine · 30/06/2016 10:46

This is steady pair of hands time.

Crabb is too much of a risk.

He's just raising his profile.

MitzyLeFrouf · 30/06/2016 10:47

'I th ought her focus on taking over from DC in building an inclusive society, and specifically raising gay marriage was a bit of a knife in the back of Crabb.'

Yep. She tried taking all of them out!

DoinItFine · 30/06/2016 10:47

X post, Mitzy 😊

TheBathroomSink · 30/06/2016 10:48

Johnson scheduled for 11.30, journos told it will go ahead

TheBathroomSink · 30/06/2016 10:48

Sorry link for that

LurkingHusband · 30/06/2016 10:49

If Theresa May were to become PM, what does it say that the party which delivered the Western worlds first female premier, and the UKs second is the Misogynystic, Elitist and slighly right-wing Tory party ?

It was fucking unbelievable in 1975. 41 years later ????

HalleLouja · 30/06/2016 10:49

So May is saying she will follow through with Brexit. She does sound quite sensible though. Working out a strategy before pressing the button.

MitzyLeFrouf · 30/06/2016 10:49

Great minds Doin! Smile

LurkingHusband · 30/06/2016 10:50

May's speech was good, especially the digs at the Etonians,

If she won, would there be a queue for refunds at the Bursars office the day after ?

MitzyLeFrouf · 30/06/2016 10:50

I wish Ruth Davidson would swoop in and say 'sorry guys, I'm taking over'.

Sh'es the only Tory I can bring myself to say I like.

HalleLouja · 30/06/2016 10:51

Completely irrelevant fact but years ago my friend and I went to PMQ and met TM in the foyer and chatted to her about her shoes. Said friend always wanted to be PM himself and is now prominent TV "judge".

RedToothBrush · 30/06/2016 10:52

After May's comment about 'showy politicians', Johnson has not declared yet as he's desperately ringing around to cancel the photo opportunity with the unicorns he had planned.

Judge rinder as PM? Hmm...

RedToothBrush · 30/06/2016 10:53

Ruth Davidson is an MSP. She can't run.

Good question.

Is the Tory party more misogynist than mainstream politics as a whole??

MitzyLeFrouf · 30/06/2016 10:54

Oh I know she can't, and everyone up here would be outraged, but I still wish it would happen!

HalleLouja · 30/06/2016 10:55

Mater ever so often I text him but haven't seen him for many years. I did ask what happened to his dream of being PM and he said never rule him out. At least he wouldn't be trying to cure the gays and didn't go to public school or Oxford.

Chalalala · 30/06/2016 10:55

Theresa May is clearly the best qualified to negotiate with the EU. She has tons of experience in securing deals, she knows how to get things done in Brussels. And she'll get some sympathy capital to start, as someone who campaigned to remain.

Boris and Gove both have very little experience in EU negotiations, in addition to being seen as hostile (both of them) and untrustworthy (Boris).
