To listen to people talk, it seems we have turned into a nation of wimpy, whinging apologists.

''I'm so embarrassed''
''I'm so ashamed''
''I'm full of despair''
''I'm so sorry''
''My life is ruined'
''Please accept my apologies''

Stop bloody whinging and saying sorry.

How do you think this tail between the legs cowed talk makes us look to the rest of the world? Hmm
It's about time we all grew up, put on a united front and got on with things

Of course we had facts! People just ignored them.

sorenofthejnaii · 28/06/2016 23:10

Only we didn't have the facts in order to make the choice

The facts were out there. I bet many people made up their own mind first and then looked for the facts that supported their opinion and ignored anything that might go against it.

Human nature - Radio 4 had a programme on it during the referendum on how we make decisions. We are prone to make a decision first and then to try and back it up. It needs something massive to make you change your decision.

It's not other countries you need to worry about. It's this one. Imploding.

That's the kind of exaggerated nonsense talk we need to stop

Tbh the only handwringing I've seen since Sunday is on here. Most people are getting on with it I think.

Then you haven't talked to many people who may not have voted the way you did.

iwantadragon · 28/06/2016 23:13

Very mature Holowiwi.

Personal attack as well.

That's the kind of exaggerated nonsense talk we need to stop

PM resigning, Labour leader under pressure, pound falling, loss of AAA rating, no vision of a future outside Europe but trading in Europe

It's not imploding but it's not a great signal to show UK PLC is open for business

Holowiwi · 28/06/2016 23:13

Don't really care to be honest

StealthPolarBear · 28/06/2016 23:14

I am worried that notmal reasonable people I know are showing themselves to be violent and racist.

allegretto · 28/06/2016 23:14

Whinging makes us seem weak? At the moment most of Europe just thinks we're stupid.

StealthPolarBear · 28/06/2016 23:15

Am I allowed to be bothered or do I need a stiff upper lip and to accept it?

iwantadragon · 28/06/2016 23:17

allegretto, we're told by the media that the rest of Europe think's we're stupid.
But who knows what the reality is? The people in some if not most of those countries could be wishing they had the chance of a referendum as well.

I just wish that Boris Johnson - who I see as the leader of the leave campaign - had come out on Friday, outlined his vision and got on with it.

It's going to be a long drawn out months and then they need to settle on what they see as the future in Europe and what deal they want and what Europe will give us.

That is uncertainty. We will have uncertainty for months. The financial markets don't like uncertainty and will look for safe places to invest where there is less uncertainty.

We can pull together but it's not us steering the ship. Who knows how the EU will react and what deal we end up with - and when?

iwantadragon · 28/06/2016 23:19

It's your new reality, so you might as well.

exaggerated nonsense talk we need to stop

Tell that to half the population and the Regrexiters.

That you cannot appreciate why people are not going to shut up because you're a bit fed up now, is astounding.

Fucking hell. You think the situation is fine? Incredible. A bit of positive spin ain't going to cut it.

sorenofthejnaii · 28/06/2016 23:21

Show everybody what we're really made of

What are we made of? One thing is - we don't make us much stuff as we used to.

JudyCoolibar · 28/06/2016 23:24

We want those rights back which is why the majority have voted leave.

Nope. Actually a minority of the country voted leave.

Eigg · 28/06/2016 23:27

Ah, dragon. So what you mean when you say "pull together" and "appear strong" is actually shut up?

sorenofthejnaii · 28/06/2016 23:31

I think the best thing now is to see what deal we'll get and what we want. In all honesty, I think we are out. I just want to see what the best deal is.

If you were the EU, would you want the UK back in?

StrangeLookingParasite · 28/06/2016 23:31

Well said, but given time they will calm down. The Bremainers have had a BIG SHOCK. They really thought victory was in the bag, and tbf, they were badly misled by the polls. Many of them have had little experience of elections or disappointment in their short lives. They will live and learn.

Smug, condescending and useless.
