To listen to people talk, it seems we have turned into a nation of wimpy, whinging apologists.

''I'm so embarrassed''
''I'm so ashamed''
''I'm full of despair''
''I'm so sorry''
''My life is ruined'
''Please accept my apologies''

Stop bloody whinging and saying sorry.

How do you think this tail between the legs cowed talk makes us look to the rest of the world? Hmm
It's about time we all grew up, put on a united front and got on with things
Show everybody what we're really made of.

and breathe

a) A country where the people are seen to be pulling together or
b) A country where there seems to be a lot of in-fighting and a complete lack of unity

Which scenario looks more stable to an outside investor?

OP, people need a bit longer. And more certainty as to what the government is actually planning to do. It was one hell of a shock, and adjustment takes time.

todayitstarts · 28/06/2016 22:43

Indeed Judy. Who would dare such a statement on the Feminists boards?

Grow a Vag, surely?

with lots of fuzz

PaulAnkaTheDog · 28/06/2016 22:44

It's the Thor like manliness. Mmmmm

TheRollingCrone · 28/06/2016 22:44

Ooh what a lovely compliment Portia!

Marynary · 28/06/2016 22:45

Of yes, I am sure that potential investors are reading posts on mumsnet before deciding whether to invest in the UK.Hmm

JudyCoolibar · 28/06/2016 22:46

Best they stop bleating. Pathetic

Really. beetroot? People who are losing their jobs or being racially abused should just "stop bleating" and are pathetic?

Frankly, people who make demands like that disgust me. And it couldn't be more obvious that they want to stifle the expression of opinions that differ from theirs because they know that there are no sensible arguments against those opinions, so they can only come up with stupid abuse like this.

justbogoff · 28/06/2016 22:46

If you expect me to pull together with a country which appears to be full of racists and inward looking people.
No I won't.
Hth

JudyCoolibar · 28/06/2016 22:47

How can we "pull together" when we have no leadership, and the people who fronted the Leave campaign are clearly panicking because they never really had any idea about how exiting could possibly work?

TheRollingCrone · 28/06/2016 22:47

Which scenerio? Ofuck don't make me laugh. We LOOK deranged.

PortiaCastis · 28/06/2016 22:48

Possibly but dd is up to something obviously. Probably wants a sub.
I'll take an Icelandic sub Grin

You are probably right.
the anger is still fresh.

I can't help thinking that that it's important that we are at least seen to be together on this.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 28/06/2016 22:51

I agree with you. No point pissing and moaning now. We can't go back in time.
David Cameron is certainly not going to make even more of a Muppet out of himself by holding a second referendum and if Bremain wins having to go crawling back to the E.U. And who can blame him.
Although it was the idiot who gave us the vote. Why did he not just leave things be. If he knew Brexit would be such a disaster. Hmm.
And if we did have another Referendum and Brexit won again. What would happen then. We can't keep having referendums for the same thing.

sorenofthejnaii · 28/06/2016 22:51

Yes - but no one knows what it looks like and lots of people have very different views on what the future will look like.

And that future will have an impact on people - so it's quite reassuring people are discussing things and the future they'd like to see.

Dozer · 28/06/2016 22:52

Together in rage and determination not to leave the EU and get some better politicians - yes please.

Together in STFU - no thanks.

iwantadragon · 28/06/2016 22:52

the only panicking I see being done is mainly by the Remainers.

OP
Well said, but given time they will calm down. The Bremainers have had a BIG SHOCK. They really thought victory was in the bag, and tbf, they were badly misled by the polls. Many of them have had little experience of elections or disappointment in their short lives. They will live and learn.

birdsdestiny · 28/06/2016 22:53

Seen to be together on what? You will need to explain what it is first.

JudyCoolibar · 28/06/2016 22:53

Really, OP? Haven't you noticed all the backtracking and foot-shuffling on the part of Johnson, Gove, Hannan etc?

MrsSpecter · 28/06/2016 22:54

Show everybody what we're really made of.

I think the world has seen enough of what england GB is made of- clowns

sorenofthejnaii · 28/06/2016 22:55

op

In case you hadn't noticed, the people who will make a difference ARE getting on with it. There is going to be a new PM, negotiations will take place and things will happen.

And we'll probably have some changes in the Labour party.

Things are happening. But the great British public has fuck all influence over them. We've had our say.

smallfox1980 · 28/06/2016 22:55

No we don't.

We need another referendum, with both options clearly laid out.

We live in a democracy, and it means that there can be dissent and clamour for change.

We don't have to follow a decision because one vote was voted for by 4% more than the other. Strangely it wouldn't be enough to sway a vote in the "undemocratic" EU but you leavers are trying to do so.

Democracy only when you want it eh?

Kummerspeck · 28/06/2016 22:56

I agree OP. We can either carry on panicking and whining or get ready to build the best future we can from this.

I live in hope that in 5-10 years we might look back and think Thank God we did that, although I think I will still cringe at Farage's behaviour today even after that long!

Thewolfsjustapuppy · 28/06/2016 22:56

Nope not ready to stop. I am not whinging I am distraught. I am not a sore loser I fear for the future of this country. I am not a bully I am terrified that this referendum has become a racist charter.
I am doing what I can to creat a plan for the future of my family and would really appreciate some constructive help and guidance from our government.

Dozer · 28/06/2016 22:56

I didn't think anything was "in the bag" and am not surprised by the result. Cameron et al fucked up big time calling the referendum. Their reasons had nothing to do with democracy and the current government and future MPs standing for Parliament in a GE are not bound by the result.
