To listen to people talk, it seems we have turned into a nation of wimpy, whinging apologists.

''I'm so embarrassed''
''I'm so ashamed''
''I'm full of despair''
''I'm so sorry''
''My life is ruined'
''Please accept my apologies''

Stop bloody whinging and saying sorry.

How do you think this tail between the legs cowed talk makes us look to the rest of the world? Hmm
It's about time we all grew up, put on a united front and got on with things
Show everybody what we're really made of.

and breathe

Gah...most of the kids at the primary school were pretty confused. Didn't need any 'hysterical attention'. Still, if you're not the target, it's easy to wait for the puff of smoke, the flash of curtain and then everything goes back to the way it was.

SarfEast1cated · 29/06/2016 23:33

Blimey Cory do you really think that that's OK? That children should be given shitty little cards like that? That we should just ignore it?
I hardly think that screaming was fainting in a heap on the floor, I'm sure it was dealt with professionally and promptly.
What if these Fascists don't just get bored and wander off, what then? We just sit it out while people are terrified and abused?

ShoesieQ · 29/06/2016 23:40

Sarf - if you re-read Cory's last post I think you'll find she was being a tad sarky Grin

ScreamingNotWaving · 29/06/2016 23:40

I think the longer this goes on, the more mainstream it becomes. The people doing it lack the awareness to notice they're being suffocated by being ignored.

And, no, we weren't fainting heaps of clutched pearls, but it's not ok. Where's your line?

BertrandRussell · 29/06/2016 23:42

When are they finally going to install "irony" and "sarcasm" fonts?

SarfEast1cated · 30/06/2016 06:47

Sorry cory and thanks shoesie

RufusTheReindeer · 30/06/2016 07:46

We absolutely need a sarcasm font or emoji

twofingerstoGideon · 30/06/2016 07:53

"Pull together" with incompetent fuckwits? No thanks. I'm going to continue to do everything I possibly can to fight against Brexit. Even if it gets nowhere, my principles will be intact.

shinynewusername · 30/06/2016 08:21

Brexit will be a economic disaster and break up the UK. It will not reduce immigration, if that's why you voted for it. If we want a single market with Europe, we will have to accept the Schengen agreement (Norway & Switzerland have) so no border controls (we have an opt out at present) and free movement of people. Oh, and we will have to comply with 90% of EU regulations to permit trade (as Norway & Switzerland do) but will no longer have any say in them.

So Brexit means worse trading terms than we have now and loss of our border controls plus continuing free movement of people. And it will drag us into a recession.

It makes no sense even if you want the things the Leave campaign offered.

So no, I won't "get on with it" thanks - I will continue to fight this insanity.

pippilongstoking · 30/06/2016 12:19

Thanks, Leavers (not).

We need to pull together, grow a pair and GET ON WITH IT!
smallfox1980 · 30/06/2016 17:38

Leavers have still to present anylon clear options of what life outside the EU will look like apart from spurious soundbites.

Listen , until you give a reasonably thought out and economically sound opinion I'm not get on board withe you with anything.

I notice that my predictions prior to the vote have mostly come true a week in. Where are yours? Oh and don't promise me 10 years down the line. Fuck wits

GarlicStake · 30/06/2016 17:52

Don't be silly, smallfox, stop lying with your facts and scaremongering about obvious outcomes.

It's all going to be all right, just wait and see.

Here's what's in the future for Great Again Britain.

These are actual 'Leave' posts. I know they don't explain where all the jobs are coming from or say the steelworks & mines are coming back.
And here's the Leave campaign manager stating quite openly that he was deliberately dishonest: "Facts don't work".

We need to pull together, grow a pair and GET ON WITH IT!

Hi all,

After a great many requests, we're moving the bulk of the referendum threads to the new board here.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/eu_referendum_2016_

Many of you, understandably, want to discuss this subject at length and in detail - this seems a good way to simultaneously keep AIBU and Chat moving for those who don't wish to participate. Of course, the conversations will still appear in Active.

Tanith · 30/06/2016 22:19

Ooh Amy! For a moment there, I thought you were announcing MN's intention to run for Party Leadership Smile

JudyCoolibar · 30/06/2016 22:54

From the Express:

"It could have gone either way, so his Government had a duty to plan for either result. Scandalously, it only did so for a Remain verdict."

Strange, last time I looked I could have sworn Gove and Johnson were part of the government.
