I don't want another attack on me I already feel battered and bruised from people on here -I was watching Muse 'Uprising'' at Glastonbury, they were bloody fantastic and the lyrics jumped out at me (maybe I am going mad I don't know) but they summed up what I feel about the EU and why I voted how I did. Worth a listen if anyones has a spare five minutes.

and irreversible.

itsbetterthanabox · 27/06/2016 00:21

You are feeling battered and bruised for getting what you want? Hmm

MangoMoon · 27/06/2016 00:23
Confused
queensansastark · 27/06/2016 00:23

I feel what I feel.

glassgarden · 27/06/2016 00:39

You are feeling battered and bruised for getting what you want?
I think the OP meant battered by the onslaught of fury directed at the leave voters from the remain side

I would suggest they redirect their fury to the govt who gave us a referendum but failed to make a plan for the consequences of the referendum!

A4Document · 27/06/2016 00:44

IMHO that is why so many older voters voted Leave this time - they remembered the 1992 stitch up too and seized the chance to get out

Hear hear! We've waited decades for this chance. We remember Maastricht and to us Major, Blair etc. are ex-PMs we do not trust when they're wheeled out as "authorities" we're supposed to respect.

Zorion · 27/06/2016 08:18

Your politics and views are your own Claig, but why are you telling me not to worry? My DH has been told not to expect further funding once the current contract is up. He's a scientist (is that your elite? doesn't feel elite!) Are "the people" going to pay our rent? To whom can I send the invoice?

You won, fine, but I am allowed to worry.

claig · 27/06/2016 08:21

I was trying to allay your fears in general over the longer term stability and success of the UK economy. I don't believe the scares they told us about it.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 27/06/2016 08:33

You lost me at UKIP voter.
I love the way the little England small minded views of some of you are beautifully replicated in the thread title! Do you just want to chat with "people like us"? If it wasn't so tragic it would be funny.
Poor you op.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 27/06/2016 08:37

Listening to some of you bleating on about sticking two fingers up at "the elite" makes me think of turkeys voting for Christmas - except maybe turkeys have some sense of their fate...
And please don't tell me where I can post on MN. It doesn't quite work like that on here.

time4chocolate · 27/06/2016 08:40

You are most welcome to come and repeat yourself on here as well as the numerous other threads if that's what you want, it's just getting monotonous now, hence the thread title.

OP posts:
GiddyGiddyGoat · 27/06/2016 08:47

How confusing you are op. Your thread title doesn't suggest anyone other than those who share your views is welcome - it states the exact opposite... gosh it's hard to make sense of it all when people say one thing and mean another... a bit like the "take back control" meaning "stop immigration".You must be very clever indeed to understand it all.

time4chocolate · 27/06/2016 08:51

Yawn!!

OP posts:
MangoMoon · 27/06/2016 08:52

It's like white noise now.

Bombaybunty · 27/06/2016 08:54

No hostility from me, I voted remain. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.
I find the animosity flying around repugnant.
It seems democracy is fine as long as your side wins - hideous.

MangoMoon · 27/06/2016 09:00

Giddy, it's the bleating remainers like you who appear to be stalking threads looking for blood that are coming across as bullying 'little Englanders' tbh.

As many other millions of out voters I am outward looking - looking past Europe, looking outside a sea of white faces.

The 'rabid remainers' (not all remainers obviously, the vast majority are reasonable people) appear to be the plastic socialists, those that are happy with what they can get off the predominantly white skinned migrant workforce, whilst wilfully ignoring the ongoing plight of the working classes.

Perhaps looking outwards more would benefit you more Giddy?

Help you to look beyond your own little world?

GiddyGiddyGoat · 27/06/2016 09:11

You know nothing whatsoever about me except what I have posted here Mango. Your assumptions are both wrong and insulting- but don't let that get in your way.
I am neither rabid or stalking. You on the other hand... sound a tad... overexcited.
Play nIceland amongst yourselves. If anyone posts who doesn't completely agree with you shout bully until someone comes to make them stop. FFS!

MyMacMess · 27/06/2016 09:22

Claig There will always be an 'elite' in any society. What's the alternative?

Communism and Marxism didn't work, the political classes were the elite.

National Socialism didn't work, Jews, political opponents and other "undesirable" elements were marginalized, with several millions eventually imprisoned and killed.

Do you really think there will be a social structure without an elite?

What are you envisaging? Confused

glassgarden · 27/06/2016 09:49

Yes there will probably always be some with more power and privilege but the degree of inequality varies, the gap between the haves and the have nots can be larger or smaller

Further the governments needs to be accountable to the people, this is my main problem with the EU, iit is not accountable and it seeks to have power over an ever growing number of states.

A large amount of power in the hands of a small unelected group, where as juncker made quite clear the people have very little say.

That's not democracy, it's more like some variety of dictatorship

MangoMoon · 27/06/2016 09:52

You know nothing whatsoever about me except what I have posted here Mango. Your assumptions are both wrong and insulting- but don't let that get in your way.

You have made my point for me Giddy.

I know nothing about you apart from what you have posted.
I based my opinion on you from what you have posted.

If that assessment is in fact wrong & insulting, then it may be prudent to reconsider your approach.

You on the other hand... sound a tad... overexcited.

Excited, yes. Hugely excited for the future.

Overexcited? No.

loobyloo1234 · 27/06/2016 09:53

Just here to bookmark really. I voted Leave, came into my office today and was sarcastically 'You must be absolutely over the moon' said to me as soon as I sat down. I am one of 8 in today, they are all Remain except for me. I am sick of having to justify myself. claig you have brightened my morning a little Flowers
