AIBU to think many Remainers will echo Lily Allen

Lily voted to remain, but is now exited about brexit and admits she was brainwashed by project fear.

I feel many uneducated and easily swayed remainders like her will see actually change is good, as it was shit and this is a real change.

Hell will freeze over first. It's a disaster for the UK and nothing can change that.

Sunsetplumset · 26/06/2016 23:22

couldnt care less about celebrity they are humans like us why do people care so much what they have to say, they arent gods you know gosh

sue51 · 26/06/2016 23:53

I couldn't give a shit what she thinks. I'm scared for the future.

Janecc · 27/06/2016 06:24

sandra It is despicable to gloat over uneducated people (with the insinuation of lesser intelligence). The defacto irony being you are part of that homogeneous mix. Biscuit

sandrabedminster · 27/06/2016 15:47

How was I gloating?

Your the one giving insults.

OP posts:
JandOsmummy · 27/06/2016 17:28

oh yes - as a remainer married to a Polish citizen I'm absolutely loving it...

so excited to see signs telling my vermin children to go home.

of course to vote remain I must have been really uneducated. I mean to ignore good advice from those in the know is just no way to make decisions in life...

Floey · 27/06/2016 17:29

IS that the Lily Allen who relocated to the US? Just wondered. Since the result I have spoken to a man who was about to go and sack 500, yes 500 people as 'uncertainty is bad for business' and seen a woman racially abused so I don't see much to get excited about really

Floey · 27/06/2016 17:31

Sandra it's 'you're'. Who is uneducated?

e1y1 · 27/06/2016 17:31

Oh yes, oh my god I love her.

Her hair is amazing, so anything she says I'm all up for.

Grin

Anyone is entitled to change their mind on anything. But people who change their mind on a referendum vote based on a "statement" from a singer, should not have been voting in the first place.

That you would even think that I find utterly bizarre.

Pete10uk · 27/06/2016 17:33

I'm waiting for most of the Leave voters to pack up and get on their way. I hear the artic is quite nice this time of year!

Tessabelle74 · 27/06/2016 17:36

I voted remain and will happily admit that I don't regret it for one second and would do so again because I actually researched both sides BEFORE I voted and went with the decision I felt benefited the country and my children in REALITY not the cuckoo land dreamt up by the leave camp. £350 million a week to the NHS anyone?

Blueflowers2011 · 27/06/2016 17:37

Is this a real post?

wherestheweightlosspill · 27/06/2016 17:41

OP, I'm not going to repeat everyone about Lily Allen not being an expert in the field, but I will ask you, because I've honestly been searching for weeks, for some logical reasons why you thought Leave was a good option. You say 'change' but 'change' isn't just a good thing, it's often a very bad thing. Will the change of location for the Jungle refugee camp from Calais to Dover be a good thing? Will the change that sees all the regeneration money being spent in Wales disappearing be a good thing? Will a change that removes the limited workers rights we've got courtesy of the EU be a good thing?
Honestly, if you could give me some concrete changes that will actually happen (that are not just a slogan like 'we get our sovereignty back' - what the hell does that mean), I'd really, really love to hear it. I honestly can't see anything good that will come of this, but lots and lots of bad. We're already seeing it.
I'm really not being sarky here, just perplexed that 17million people voted for, what seems to me, to be a pipe dream, that even during the campaign wasn't stacking up. So I keep assuming that I've missed something.

Barbafamiily · 27/06/2016 17:42

You are right, £120bn wiped off the stock market but £13bn saved in EU fees! That is a change! I am literally pissing my pants with the excitement of it.

mrsfuzzy · 27/06/2016 17:43

lily allen was 'brain washed' ???? has she joined a cult or something, what utter crap !

mrsfuzzy · 27/06/2016 17:45

wheres it's early days yet, the rug's been pulled but it'll settle down, not worth wasting precious time worrying about it.

BonerSibary · 27/06/2016 17:47

I've been unable to accept Lily Allen as a political expert ever since I found out she lied about getting offered the Yara role in Game Of Thrones.

Bobisyouraunt · 27/06/2016 17:47

It makes me think she is absurd, that's all

Jayfee · 27/06/2016 17:48

I have a concern that some of the ironic comments will be taken as literal. I voted remain. I think one of the reasons brexiters voted out was a concern over immigration. This does not make them racist. The mass immigration started under Tony Blair has not been managed well in terms of infrastructure. However, if we exit (ok it will probably happen) we will probably do it as Norway etc. If so, free movement will still continue so, no reduction in immigration. But please can we stop the binary them us crap. I want to remain but those who don't are not all stupid or racist.

supermoonshine · 27/06/2016 17:50

It's all a mess and a disaster. Lily Allen is not very bright so I wouldn't listen to what she has to say. Sings well though

AShadowLurkingInTheShadows · 27/06/2016 17:50

No, no I won't echo her

Jayfee · 27/06/2016 17:51

Grrr I just read Pete10.. grow up will you!!

Fossie · 27/06/2016 17:51

I spoke to someone yesterday who voted remain but now wish they had voted Brexit. He thought the safer choice was remain but now we are going out he realises he is happy at the thought. Also spoke to one person (a young person) who was worried she didn't know enough to vote intelligently so voted remain because others told her we can always vote to leave at a later date but we wouldn't be able to vote back in. Do you really think we would ever have had another referendum if remain had won? This was our only chance to take. No political party would have allowed it again.

RepentAtLeisure · 27/06/2016 17:55

People like Lily Allen can afford to be excited. Her parents are very well off, she was privately educated and is wealthy in her own right. If the exciting experiment fails, she can jet off and rent a house in Capri.

It's the people stuck in low paying jobs and the unemployed who will just be waiting to find out if they'll be okay or if they'll be very much not okay.

MitzyLeFrouf · 27/06/2016 17:59

I will not be echoing Lily Allen.

HTH.
