AIBU to think many Remainers will echo Lily Allen

sandrabedminster · 26/06/2016 02:48

Lily voted to remain, but is now exited about brexit and admits she was brainwashed by project fear.

I feel many uneducated and easily swayed remainders like her will see actually change is good, as it was shit and this is a real change.

Is she a Dame?

A Dame what remained?

sandrabedminster · 26/06/2016 13:47

Not all change is bad either.

Its never that straightforward.

If you give me wads of cash to cushion the blow we're all going to feel, I'd say any old shit too.

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 26/06/2016 14:30

it may not happen. Still in denial

Floisme · 26/06/2016 14:33

If you want a change, you might look for a new job or maybe move house, get your hair done.... What you don't normally do is take a walk off a cliff edge because it looks exciting.

Inkanta · 26/06/2016 14:38

' it was shit and this is a real change.'

I agree with you there Sandra. We need to get our own house in order and there is no better start than beginning at rock bottom where both political parties are right now. This is good stuff.

They have got some work to do and demonstrate to us that they are trustworthy and can govern. We don't need the EU - we just need a strong together government.

This is good stuff that's happening here.

pearlylum · 26/06/2016 14:38

I'm not too worried now, Sturgeon will refuse permission to leave.

neonrainbow · 26/06/2016 14:59

Everyone does need to stop being so hysterical.

SuburbanRhonda · 26/06/2016 15:01

Thanks for telling us what we need to do neon.

So reassuring Hmm

originalmavis · 26/06/2016 15:06

Custom there's nothing to worry about?

It's as clear as dishwater what is going to happen and even clearer who do the going to so the negotiations.m? A chunk of the labour cabinet leaving and Boris for PM? Marine Le Pen patting the UK on the back? Faranges gurning mug all over the telly? Racism mimicking 1930s Germany?

It's all fucking hunky dory.

originalmavis · 26/06/2016 15:06

And my sodding predictive text going mad. Sheesh...

noblegiraffe · 26/06/2016 15:11

Everyone does need to stop being so hysterical.

Yeah, save your hysteria for when something important happens, like the prime minister resigning, the shadow cabinet resigning, no one actually running the country, the Uk possibly breaking up, the potentially rising tension in Ireland.

Oh, and the country voting to do something completely stupid, according to pretty much all economists and international experts.

Then you can get hysterical.

neonrainbow · 26/06/2016 15:23

Hysteria on an internet chat forum is really bloody pointless.

FolderReformedScruncher · 26/06/2016 15:25

I want to repeat what someone said upthread (or maybe on another thread) An awful lot of people voted to leave because they were given the impression/told that if we left, we would have control of our borders. Those people telling them this has admitted they lied. If you buy something or enter into an agreement of ANY OTHER SORT and lies were admitted afterward in order to get you to buy that thing or enter into that agreement. You are given leave to take legal action against the liar. Here - not possible. How crap is that? All these people telling remainers to calm down. Maybe being calm and passive has got us where we are. Maybe it's Nicola Sturgeon going doo lally that may pull this turd of a situation around by the head and get it sorted

noblegiraffe · 26/06/2016 15:25

So are smug comments but you're engaging nonetheless.

Let's all do what makes us feel better, eh?

BonerSibary · 26/06/2016 15:31

Whereas saying comments that aren't positive enough for your liking are hysterical is totes worthwhile.

clam · 26/06/2016 16:44

totes? Hmm

How old are you, 15?

BonerSibary · 26/06/2016 17:30

I'm 408 and omgursoimmature.

mygorgeousmilo · 26/06/2016 17:36

I have heard that many leave voters change their minds, this is the first I've heard of a remainer having a wobble....

ghostyslovesheep · 26/06/2016 17:43

you know - for a democratic group who won the Brexiters seem hellishly defensive and angry

I voted remain - I regret nothing - I'd vote the same way again and I'm not really interested in celeb culture

noblegiraffe · 26/06/2016 17:47

I think the Brexiters are defensive because they've seen on telly the chaos that the country is now in and are slowly realising that it might be their fault.

emeraldlakes · 26/06/2016 17:56

YANBU to think that if some Leave voters would change their minds then it's possible that some Remain voters would also change their minds too.

Although you're not going to get many agreeing with you here.

roundaboutthetown · 26/06/2016 18:04

It's not the fault of Brexit voters, though - it would have been very odd for there to be 100% agreement that the EU in its current form is a good thing. Ultimately, the result is a symptom of the effects of greed, massive inequality and corruption on a global scale leading to a rise in anger, cynicism, a rejection of the status quo and ultimately extremism and violence. In or out of the EU, the genie is coming out of the bottle and I feel very sad for my children.

BonerSibary · 26/06/2016 18:25

I think it's more than Leave voters would have more reason to change their minds emerald. Anyone who voted Remain who now thinks they prefer Leave isn't going to experience the same level of regret, because Leave won anyway. Unless they really like being on the winning side I guess. And Leave attracted at least some level of protest vote, whereas Remain presumably didn't since it was the more 'establishment' choice. So you have a cohort within Leave who voted for something they don't actually want, for which there's not really an equivalent within Remain.

Also, because Leave won, their campaign has inevitably been more scrutinised. And some people are starting to realise that immigration, a big reason why many people voted Leave, isn't likely to be reduced by Brexit, so that's inevitably going to be a catalyst for regret in some cases. Again, there's not really a Remain equivalent. The campaign hasn't attracted the same level of scrutiny due to having lost, notwthstanding that a few Brexit regretters have blamed the Remain campaign for not spelling some things out more clearly.
