Seriously? majority of people who voted for leave wanted control of our borders, we brought into your story of an Australian style point system now it seems there's still going be freedom of labour movement which is basically the same thing expect they get less legal rights.

I didn't just vote leave for immigration but yes it was a big reason and if I known this, if remain had a better hammered this home I bet MANY leave voters would not have voted the way they did. If anything if this happens, many leave voters will join the remain voters in rage at the lies we been fed. (NHS, Immigration)

I have been a vocal leave supporter on here but now I am feeling pretty scared about what I have voted for. I blame the remain campaign for having an totally shit and ineffective campaign and Cameron should never have been the leader of the remain camp, as majority of people despise him and don't take any notice of what he says.

This cannot be real??? Shock

What happened to all the 'don't treat me like I'm an uneducated idiot just because I voted to leave?' Hmm

I'm all for accepting a democratic vote. I don't like it and I stand by it being stupid but tell me you educated yourself on the facts and somehow Confused still voted leave then, fine. But tell me you voted to leave because you thought yesterday would mean an end to immigration or because you believed there would be a 350m cash injection for the NHS, or because you thought the German cardiologist had stolen your job (despite having just one GCSE in fuckwittery) and I'll continue to think you're an idiot!

Whocansay · 25/06/2016 17:02

Possibly the Remain campaign didn't realise quite how ignorant many people are? I must admit, I've been incredibly shocked by the attitude and lack of knowledge of some people I previously had respect for.

Your vote, your choice. And now the rest of us have to live with the decision because people like you couldn't be bothered to educate themselves. FFS.

OP, you can always ask Boris for clarification if required...oh wait...he's run away because he can't "take back control" of such a global clusterfuck. Never mind Confused

GarlicSteak · 25/06/2016 17:03

You are really not alone, Rebecca. Tragically, we all kept pointing these things out with remarkable patience but Leavers just went "Scaremongering lies! Project Fear!" and repeated some easily-disproved bollocks from your campaigners - who, unfortunately, had correctly evaluated the British people's intelligence.

You were lied to. You fell for it. You refused to listen. You have, collectively, fucked this country over in a very big way. If you take nothing else from this, please accept a lesson in critical thinking and responsible democracy.

Hissy · 25/06/2016 17:03

Everything you're complaining about not being said OP most definitely WAS said.

But none of the Leave lot wanted to hear, shouted at and intimidated those Remain that did try to say something.

You were all so convinced you were right, even though everyone around you was saying otherwise.

And now your decision will cost us a future we have all worked so hard for and enjoyed so much.

When you Still can't get a Dr appointment, when your schools are still over subscribed will you get the enormity of the fuck up you've all made?

Wonder if you will be as angry as we are now? When you realise that you've all fallen for the political equivalent of the dodgy email from Nigeria promising millions, all you have to do is put your X in a box on a form. Will you come crying to us then?

Will you want to hear something other than We told you so?

Good luck with that.

allegretto · 25/06/2016 17:04

Remain repeated this again and again. You really have no excuse.

EweAreHere · 25/06/2016 17:04

Dear god.

Perhaps now, OP, you'll understand the outrage/upset/horror felt by those who voted 'In'. BECAUSE WE KNEW THOSE FOR 'OUT' WEREN'T BEING HONEST! Not to mention the rest of the obvious concerns about them being entirely in it for themselves and their wealthy, bigoted, xenophobic friends.

sooooootired · 25/06/2016 17:05

Yesterday my dp was doing some ironing and I went to put the iron away and he said "don't touch that it's hot" but he didn't say it very convincingly so I decided to touch it anyway be ause how dare he assume he knows more than me about irons and now I have a really badly burnt hand. Should I LTB or report him to the police?

Longislandicetee · 25/06/2016 17:05

Bless you OP, you have made me laugh.

Yes the European treaty (known as TFEU) is based on 4 fundamental freedoms including people. The EEA treaty (known as EFTA) is based on the same 4 fundamental freedoms, including....people. The wording of the Articles aren't identical from memory, however, they are sufficiently close that the European Courts have decided they mean the same thing in quite a number of cases. So yes all the EU immigrants will still be whizzing here if we go down the Norway route.

The main difference between the Norway model and being in the EU, is that while both give you access to the single market (good), you got all of the obligations too...including the fundamental freedoms. Oh and you don't get as seat at the table to influence or veto decisions, nor do you get a big fat rebate on your contribution to the EU (which you still have to make). Ie nothing changes. I am genuinely baffled as to what people thought they were voting for!!!

crossroads3 · 25/06/2016 17:05

It was pointed out repeatedly that Norway has to allow freedom of movement in order to access the market despite not being in the EU. Guess it should have been written on the side of a bus.

^ this.

Without any of the many other benefits of being in the EU. I could cry that people believed the lies that were spouted by Farage and co Sad.

DancingDinosaur · 25/06/2016 17:07

Grin. Both sides told lies. Thats why its best to go and do your own research before putting the tick in the box. This thread is fucking hilarious. Or it would be if I wasn't so saddened by the fact that others probably voted in this way too, and dragged the other half of the country down with them.

mumtomaxwell · 25/06/2016 17:07

I wonder if those leave voters who did it on the grounds of immigration are aware that the Calais Jungle is only there because of the agreement we have with France. As we Brexit I think they will understandably want move that border back to Dover where it belongs, and we will have to deal with our own refugees (and rightly so under our Geneva convention obligations).

megletthesecond · 25/06/2016 17:08

Quelle-fucking-surprise. It was pretty clear they were winging the whole campaign. Why are people suspended Leave lied and fudged the facts.

You and idiots like you are the reason we're in this mess.

If people voted leave having done research and understanding the issues then I respect that. I have no respect for the surprised and regretful leave voters who wish they'd done it differently

It was abundantly clear beforehand that if the uk wanted to keep access to the single market we would also need to keep free movement of people. Yabu for voting in either direction with zero understanding of the issues

clam · 25/06/2016 17:08

May I suggest, OP, that if you want to persist down this "I've been duped" road, you get some of your other posts from today withdrawn?

megletthesecond · 25/06/2016 17:08

surprised

OddBoots · 25/06/2016 17:08

You have got to be kidding me! If you want to vote to change things from how they already are then onus is on you to do proper research into what you actually want and if ithat is what is on offer.

When we had a vote on a form of proportional representation we all had to look and see if the change on offer was the kind we wanted. Alternative Vote wasn't proper PR so I voted against it - many others did too. That is what you do when you vote.

For this referendum all the information was out there but whenever it was talked about there were accusations of scaremongering.

twofingerstoGideon · 25/06/2016 17:09

Suck it up, Rebecca. You chose to believe the (obvious) lies. You'll be incandescent when you realise the NHS isn't going to be handed billions of quid on Monday, I expect.

Thanks for shafting our young people because you didn't bother to do your homework.

IthinkIamsinking · 25/06/2016 17:09

Your ignorance shines like a beacon in the night *Well'.
Congratualtions on flagging up your ignorance and stupidity in such a public fashion.
In other news, xenophobe bangs on about benefits and immigrants.

crossroads3 · 25/06/2016 17:10

The remain side may have told lies but they were not trying to dramatically alter the status quo and land us in the utter shit we are now in.

You chose to vote the way you did! You cannot blame the remain campaign for your decisions! We need to live with the consequences but it may waken people up to how promises are made at the elections and by the time the votes are counted the promises are rescinded!

KleineDracheKokosnuss · 25/06/2016 17:10

Remain told you this again and again and again and again. Yet you cried "no, you're just Project fear,I refuse to listen".

And if you somehow fucking missed Remain telling you officially, its been all over social media, mumsnet, and every other sodding site.

You made your decision (including as yo what you would listen to). Now own it.
