I know there will be difficult times ahead.

Staying there was also going to be difficult times afraid.

But I think it's the way forward ! I'm pleased change is on the cards.

A chance to trade with Asia, America, etc without being dictated by EU on how much we can have, pay or charge

A chance that our government can make the rules rather than Brussels dictating what rules we can or cannot make.

Last budget No VAT to be increased. Brussels did not agree VAT on solar panels increased. Regardless on if you want or do not want solar panels the point is Brussels can overall us Shen they want

And once again if you wanted to remain the more of you should of voted! But you didn't

Yay more uneducated morons

Doesn't matter that me and Dh are studying at a post grad level we are complete and utter idiots according to the majority on here and fb!

TheHoneyBadger · 24/06/2016 18:38

the north east would have been influenced by the effect EU has had on the fishing identity i should think. re: sunderland.

electricflyzapper · 24/06/2016 18:39

Oh no Veterinari, that wasn't my reason for voting Brexit, that was just my response to the previous poster who said Brexit would threaten jobs. I merely pointed out the EU threatened some people's jobs already.

hownottofuckup · 24/06/2016 18:40

Thanks Honey that's helpful

electricflyzapper · 24/06/2016 18:41

And I don't have a short memory re Cameron either, thank you. I remember very well. I remember Brown and Blair just as well.

Consider this: some people on Mumsnet don't vote Labour or Lib Dem....just as some people in the country as a whole don't vote for those parties. What a shocker.

Hiddenaspie1973 · 24/06/2016 19:00

Fantastic. 👏🏻
Wonder if this means an end to the diabolical zero hours contracts which stop people moving on with their lives?

I know things won't be easy. But at least eventually, Brussels will not be pulling the strings.

So many reasons I'm glad. I won't list them all because I am uneducated 😄😄😄😄😂😂😂😂🤗🤗🤗🤗 and will be called a racist 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Lighteningirll · 24/06/2016 19:43

We are celebrating here I've just been told I shouldn't have voted as ' the young' ALL voted to remain and us 'old people' don't have the right to dictate what will happen as they are going to be alive longer than us. I'm fifty didn't know death was a knocking, I took a reasoned decision as I believe no matter the short term pain (if there is any) the long term gains will be worth it. I watched it live from four this morning couldn't believe it. I am genuinely shocked at how far removed politicians and the metropolitan elite are from the rest of the country. Happy Independence Day Wine

My job is EU funded but there is no way I am going to stoop to the level of some remain voters and insult and ridicule leave voters. So many people on this site have a really nasty side it seems.

Fizbo · 24/06/2016 20:03

I didn't come on here to list the reasons I voted Brexit, I came here to rejoice! And rejoice I shall! 🍾🎉😂

It doesn't seem like anyone's prepared to say anything of any meaning about why they voted Leave. It's hard not to wonder why.

Grassgreendashhabi · 24/06/2016 20:21

Hownot- because regardless of what we say you will name is racist, uneducated or scum

So why bother

Lighteningirll · 24/06/2016 20:22

I could, I can and I have but this isn't the thread hth

Fizbo · 24/06/2016 20:25

Because this thread is for people to celebrate, not justify anything. There are other threads to ask questions on. Here have a drink on me 🍾

hownottofuckup · 24/06/2016 20:39

Grass it was a genuine question, if you look again you have no reason to presume I would call you any of those things what so ever. I haven't and I won't. I just wanted to know abit more about why people voted Leave.
Why are people so antsy? You're obviously happy how you voted and believe in it bringing about a better future, I wanted to remain but that's now not on the cards so would like to get on board with where the country is heading.
I don't see any benefit in hostility, the votes been cast it's time to move forward. I'd like to be on board but I don't know what the expectations are.
Obviously my asking has pissed people off so I'll leave you to it.
It's a shame you're so hostile to those that voted remain, have accepted the outcome, and just want a better understanding of what to expect/hope for now.
If it makes you feel any better I'm really sorry I asked now. The animosity surrounding this whole thing is the most depressing part.

hownottofuckup · 24/06/2016 20:46

Fix OK I didn't vote leave but it's the way it is and I'd rather find something in it to celebrate then sit and mope and name call.
I haven't been on MN during the day so hadn't seen all the threads, I don't want to get involved in a bun fight, finding something to celebrate seemed a better option. I was asking for a bit of guidance.
Sorry I hit a nerve.

Grassgreendashhabi · 24/06/2016 20:47

How - my personal reasons are I am fed up with being told what we can and can't do by a parliament in Brussels whom I never voted in.

I do believe we have had a terrible immigration problem in this country, other countries have better controls in place.

I do not see why Brussels pays our farmers (or a proportion of) not to farm. Whilst we pay more for importing vegetables from outside uk.

I think our housing and NHS struggle with the amount of immigration .

I am horrified by the threats from other counties e.g America who now say they will support us

We should have fair trade with Asia, America, Canada and rest of world on our terms not dictated to by Brussels on how much we can import, export, spend and purchase

Grassgreendashhabi · 24/06/2016 20:48

How - I would like to add as your post seems genuinely polite, others have been very nasty to us, calling us uneducated, racist, etc

I've just asked for my previous post to be deleted as the link is incorrect and I am unable to post a link to the article I was referring to.

hownottofuckup · 24/06/2016 20:53

Thanks Grass it does seem like other countries are already backing down from their previous threats.
I think there has been alot of scaremongering that will hopefully be unveiled by this outcome and cries of xenophobia and the uneducated masses are all a part of that.
Anyway, I don't want to derail your thread, in hindsight this wasn't the one to ask on!
Happy celebrating everyone I hope the future's bright Wine

80sMum · 24/06/2016 20:59

"No common sense hasn't prevailed. All of London voted in - they're not all the super rich. I'm still waiting for just ONE 'leaver' to tell me exactly what will be good apart from having 'won'."

^^This! In bold. Triple underlined with bells on!

Grassgreendashhabi · 24/06/2016 21:01

80s - see my explanation. Then go moan on one of the other threads
