I know there will be difficult times ahead.

Staying there was also going to be difficult times afraid.

But I think it's the way forward ! I'm pleased change is on the cards.

Which Remain voters have come round?

BertrandRussell · 26/06/2016 16:12

"Ironically, several remain voters have started to come round and are beginning to understand why people voted to leave"

I have always understood why some leavers voted the way they did. There are lots of reasons why disaffected disadvantaged people would vote "leave" purely on instinct. "Heart" voters.

What I haven!t been able to understand, because nobody will tell me, is why the people who insist that they have voted "leave" for well researched "head" reasons have done it.

RortyCrankle · 26/06/2016 16:24

Ah well. I'm happy - today is my birthday and a friend is coming round with Wine and Cake.

But more importantly, the very first mara des bois strawberry has ripened in my garden and I will eat it later in solitary splendour, if only I can stop the birds pecking it to bits. I'm replenishing their containers hourly with fatballs hoping that will keep them away Grin

BertrandRussell · 26/06/2016 16:40

Oh,, heavens, pick it now! Something will eat it if you don't!

Tiny slices with a miniscule drop of balsamic vinegar.

shovetheholly · 26/06/2016 16:54

There's probably an immigrant eyeing up your strawberry as I type.

shazzarooney999 · 26/06/2016 17:02

shovetheholly, that is utterly disgusting!

Hmm black pepper i think, rather than balsamic, Bertrand

Well it would obviously serve me right wouldn't it, Shove, I'm obviously in the 80% you suggest 'don't have the first fucking clue about anything' from one of your other posts.

shovetheholly · 26/06/2016 17:20

Yep. You are.

RortyCrankle · 26/06/2016 17:31

I so wish I could make you happy by giving a fuck what you think but I don't. Please don't ask me to say what I think of you, I would be too embarrassed to lower myself to your level.

shovetheholly · 26/06/2016 17:42

Namehanger · 26/06/2016 17:53

Plastic socialist - lovely, you haven't answered my questions I notice.

TriniRedVelvet · 26/06/2016 18:00

RortyCrankle Happy birthday 🎂 🎈 🎉 🍦 Have a lovely time with your friend.

My former friends are avoiding me like the plague because I voted leave. Ah well.....

Muddlingthroughtoo · 26/06/2016 18:03

Am I the only one who sees a news item and I'm waiting for it to be blamed on Brexit? I saw that a pregnant woman had her phone stolen and I looked at the comments for Mention of Brexit! I'm getting so paranoid! My neighbours toilet is blocked, I thought she'd come round to pin it on me and my out vote! Shock

RortyCrankle · 26/06/2016 18:10

Thank you Trini - friend has just arrived with bottle(s) and a cake with 2 candles denoting my birthday. She said she's going to light them and I have to blow them out. Haven't done that for a few year's decades

Too funny Muddling - no doubt if a meteor hits the earth there will be one solitary Remainer left whimpering 'it's the Leavers' fault waaaahhhh' Grin

Off I go.

Bipette79 · 26/06/2016 18:16

Why don't we all celebrate voting for people who simply lied all the way through? So refreshing, isn't it? Boris is not and will never be an outer...(as he himself said before)

Muddlingthroughtoo · 26/06/2016 18:17

Cake happy birthday Rorty, quietly celebrate Brexit too xx cheers Wine

AnotherPrickInTheWall · 26/06/2016 22:50

I've been outed by several family members because I publicly announced I voted to leave the EU. They don't have a clue what is really going on in this country and are " protected" by massive inheritances or living in "naice" places.
The only exertion is my bro, who although is wealthy; self made I might add is no fool to the bigger picture.
If I were French , it would be viewed as having National Pride, alas us self deprecating Brits are labelled bigots.

GoodLoveShinesBrightly · 26/06/2016 23:15

Well, you'd only be viewed as having National Pride in France by the Natioanl Front, so i think ti would be fair to say you'd be a French bigot.

Thank you Muddling - I'm talking in whispers only this morning Grin

Ignore them AnotherPrickInTheWall and as for national pride - I have plenty but it has been denigrated by the loony left Islingtonites for so long, it's treated as a bad thing to love your country - it appears to be fine for the Scots and Welsh but not for the English. Well, to hell with them.

Interesting Grassgreendashhabi bet the originator feels a total idiot now. Glad Cameron has said it won't happen.

Mooingcow · 27/06/2016 09:21

Rorty .

I've lived in countries all over the world and never once heard such drivel about national pride as I have in England.

The self-loathing is pitiful.

I watched the Olympic opening ceremony with some people who cried (patronising twats) at (mainly Commonwealth and African) countries carrying flags with palpable pride and then, with no irony, started wincing at the Union Jack as though it was being carried by skinheads spitting on everyone.

It was like being stuck in a perpetual trendy Y10 nightmare.

I love being British.

If you can judge me for saying so, without knowing a thing about my background, ethnicity, life experiences, religion, size of my heart, there is something unpleasant and very very wrong with your value system.

RortyCrankle · 27/06/2016 10:38

Thanks for the coke and aspirin Mooing. My table has been reduced to firewood but it was worth it to watch you dancing on it Grin

Totally agree with you - all we can do is ignore, ignore, ignore and continue to do what we believe to be right.

Marmite17 · 27/06/2016 11:26

What do you believe to be right?

RortyCrankle · 27/06/2016 11:38

This thread is not for firing questions at Leavers, and I for one have no desire to answer them. We have all posted our reasons on here over the last few months and I'm sick of repeating myself.
