Hello everyone,

I just thought I'd start a thread for everyone whose kids have applied to the Brit school for sixth form entry in 2024. Hope you are all doing well.

Just wondering whether anyone has heard about the January auditions yet? DD is applying for the music strand and getting anxious.

Thanks so much and best of luck to all!

My daughter has applied for Musical Theatre sixth form and has her meeting/dance workshop tomorrow. Fingers crossed it all goes well!

Fraidycat2023 · 19/12/2023 12:34

Congratulations! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for your daughter!!!
Ours also got an invite, but still has to wait till the New Year for that.
All the best

My daughter has also applied for the music strand and has been invited for the workshop and interview next week. We are out of catchment - hoping all goes well 🙏

Have you heard back yet, good luck 🤞🤞

Hi, my daughter also has her assessment next week. We're out of catchment too, so it's tough. All the best of luck, fingers crossed!!! Not sure when she'll hear back. Maybe they will tell her at interview.

My daughter had interview today. They said 6 weeks before hearing but that seems quick for Brit. She's also out of catchment so not expecting to get in to be honest. Good luck everyone

My daughter felt her audition and dance workshop went well, just a waiting game now however the good thing about this year is they’ve combined the audition and interview into one day so hopefully will not have to wait long for a decision to be made.

Sorry to jump on, my daughter applied for The Brit School sixth form last year. We're way out of catchment (Wales) and she didn't even have her application processed. They replied the day after and said they don't accept applications out of catchment, so I'm confused with some of you saying you're out of catchment,
but got auditions.

She was so disappointed but thankfully got into LIPA and is living her best life! Good luck to a that have applied 😊

Out of catchment is so hard, I totally agree. All the best of luck! And thanks for letting us know about the six weeks. That really isn't very long.

Hi, best of luck to all! Our daughter applied last year from out of catchment and was successful. The struggle was finding accommodation for her, list from Brit was so out of date. Worth looking early! Just in case. Good luck to all! She is having the best time ever!

Has anyone who had their audition in December heard of the outcome of the audition?

Aumkha · 16/01/2024 13:48

My daughter had MT audition on 15/12, we still haven't heard anything yet. 🤞

SadeRose · 16/01/2024 15:20

Not yet! My daughter had her audition exactly 4 weeks today.

Fraidycat2023 · 16/01/2024 20:01

Dumpedbytext - So glad to hear that your daughter is having a brilliant time at LIPA!

My daughter applied for the film course and has no idea when she will even get an aptitude workshop date!

Fraidycat2023 · 22/01/2024 20:08

Aw, good luck, catlady. It's all so emotional, isn't it? I just feel for all these bright hopeful kids...

My Daughter had her audition on the 4th Jan for the Music strand, has anyone heard back yet?

drummermumma · 28/01/2024 12:31

My daughter had audition on 8th for music strand and we've heard nothing. But they did say 6 weeks. I'm trying not to think about it!!

MrsSkylerWhite · 28/01/2024 12:34

Is that the school that Paul McCartney set up? How exciting. Our youngest studied in the arts, in a different field and is just coming to the other end. He’s had the best three years.
Would agree with others about finding accommodation now, so that you can pounce on it as soon as she is accepted.
Good luck to her 😃

Fraidycat2023 · 28/01/2024 16:41

Same here. Not really expecting anything before mid Feb. Fingers crossed all round

My daughter had her MT audition on 15th December too. Hoping we hear soon 🤞🏻

foxbasesecular43 · 31/01/2024 11:37

Glad to find this thread - my son had his MT interview on 6th Jan, for some reason I got it into my head that we’d hear within 4 weeks - but seeing that some of you are saying six I’ll start breathing again! It’s a tough wait isn’t it. Interested if any of the kids who applied to Brit MT also applied to Access MT - my son is feeling like either would be a good option (I feel Brit is preferable)

Aumkha · 31/01/2024 19:45

My daughter also had MT audition on 15th Dec, still waiting for the result.

Jaynebec · 31/01/2024 20:15

My son auditioned in the 8th Jan for six from mt course , still. It heard anything

Jaynebec · 31/01/2024 20:16

Still not heard anything

Jaynebec · 31/01/2024 20:17

actually meant to say 4th jan
