Just thought I would start a thread for anyone who has applied for a place at BRIT school

he's in ... and breathe

all you KS4 people who have to go through it all again in two years time I think it is even worse as they are in love with the school by then.

You would think they would have told them first 🙄

I feel for everyone on this thread who doesn't get the news they were hoping for. Just remember, Ed Sheeran didn't get into BRIT either! There's never just the one path towards fulfilling your dreams.

My daughter is currently at Brit in the dance strand, we are waiting to hear about 6th form, so stressy and yes it is worse as she will be heartbroken if she doesn’t get in.

My daughter is just about to do her GCSE's with dance strand, please shout if you need any advice or information!

@strawberryice90 no word yet for KS4 music. My DD (out of catchment) auditioned on 20/3 and of course we’re on tenterhooks! Good luck. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

My DD got into theatre strand ks4 and there are a lot of kids out of catchment so try not to worry about being in catchment 😊

We are waiting to hear from MT KS5. Heard that some auditions might be as late as 31/3. We auditioned on 27/2 so such a long wait!

Hi all, just found out today our daughter has got into Brit school theatre strand ks5 and she is an external candidate. She is beyond happy 😊. Congrats to all that got in and good luck to everyone else who is waiting to hear back! ❤️

I think they pretty much accept back all the current yr 11 who apply don't they , unless there's some behavioural issues or lack of compliance?

Not sure when induction day is but for my current yr 12 it was during term time.
We have two weeks to say yay or nay (from last Friday)

No her audition was 1/3 in the morning..I think she was in the first batch.
I know of a few boys that got in from yr 9 from my older DDs old school (1 theatre and two dance )..wondering if our kids were at the same school!?

There have been a few turned down, not dance. My daughter is predicted a distinction but until I see that offer in black and white I won't relax lol

A Brit student youtuber strongly suggests appealing when on reserve lists. Is it vital to do so? Waiting to hear KS5.

@Primrose44 Hi glad to hear a few more boys got in . Only my DD and one girl from his school audititioned . Im not sure her result she went for music . You had a long wait. Im so glad now ours was moved to the 20th we found out the 24th and that was stressful enough! 🤣

which strand did your DC apply for?

My DS got reserve for DANCE KS5 too, I wonder if worth an appeal. Do you know how many on reserve lsit?

KS5 Dance. I was hoping that someone with some experience here could confirm if appealing pushed your DC up the list as was suggested by this youtuber. If so I think its a must!

@Arthurwhitewhisker, My daughter did dance 5 years ago, she was predicted a Distinction in the February and that was her final result. The Dance staff really know their stuff 😏

I’m not sure. Until your question I assumed it was numbered. That was the suggestion from the girl who posted the video. She claims to have moved up the list as a result of the appeal. Also says her friend who is a boy did the same. She states there is a boy list and girl list. I didn’t note when she posted it so it may have been a while ago
