My DD got her offer yesterday for KS4 digital design. Am absolutely elated. She has SEN and this school seems like such a good fit for her. There was a real life rainbow across our house not long after we found out. It was such a special day.

I was sitting at Gatwick Airport, about to leave the country when l saw the e-mail! I was in happy tears boarding my flight but gutted l could only congratulate my DS via Video call later...

Hi @Pandorapearl l remember finding a very good video on Youtube by a female student talking about her application and interview for FMP at KS5. She talked about making a real effort in her application, trying to show a professional attitude and seriousness about her craft. She said, show how much you're willing to put into it. I'm sure you'll find it if you snoop around Youtube a bit. Best of luck!

Oh thank you. If only i had posted sooner (before the workshop) but my dd is someone who wants to do everything her own way most of the time eye roll ha ha. I am just wondering about managing expectations as i really have no clue how many spaces there are for year 12. She really enjoyed the workshop, said the interview was challenging, but you can only do your best. So fingers crossed 😊🤞

We still haven’t heard back for KS4 MT. To be honest wasn’t expecting to hear anything for a while but maybe it will be sooner rather than later. Am trying to manage expectations too even though the interview and auctions went well.

@londonluxie We're in catchment too. I was positively shocked we heard so early, think it was extremely fortunate. I expected the e-mails to go out mid April after what they'd said to people. Might still be the reality for MT, Music and other strands. Hang in there! All fingers crossed!!

@Glamourgal1989 good luck to your dc too 😊. Is your daughter looking for a year 12 place too?

@Pandorapearl yes ! We are very nervous. I really hope she gets in - we should hear around the 18/04 they say 4 weeks ! What a stress ! If she doesn’t get in the Brits we have Esher as plan B

@Glamourgal1989 wow - they must see a lot of people then. We have all sorts of plan B's but actually didn't look at Esher. My dd has her heart set on Brit (as I am sure they all do), so I really hope the workshop went well. She has very little interview experience, so I think she found that quite challenging, but all you can do is hope they pick the right kids that they see something in. If she doesn't get a place, maybe it isn't right for her. Fingers crossed for everyone 🤞

Hi all, my daughter also applied for the BRIT through the VAD and has been given a place. We are out of Catchment in West Sussex ( Horsham area) . Is anybody else going from this direction ?
