Hello fellow parents, Just wanted to start a thread on RGS Guildford, which our children will be sitting on 11th January 2020. Not long now.

Any news on 2nd interviews? Surely needs to be send today or tomorrow if the first set of interviews takes place on Tuesday 21 January 🤷🏼‍♂️

The thread from last year ppl are saying their emails came the morning of the Friday!

Eek, sounds like tomorrow it is then 😬 There’s no way my son will get a scholarship invite but I’m half hoping for a second interview - it’s better than a no!!

I think Dr Cox said there’s usually 60-80 called back for second interview. Many of them will be successful in getting a place

Don’t think the nos have gone out yet unless anyone else knows more?

Do the nos get sent out at this stage or after the interviews once they have whittled it down a bit more?

I don't think the 'No' letters go out until the end of the month...between 30 Jan - 2 Feb seems to be the anecdotal window for receiving them.

Interview & scholarship info seems to be coming by email today/tomorrow....

Firm No or Yes letters from 14th Feb...

Oh, and R272727...one other school but very much undecided about it to be honest.

Historically no letters have been sent out before the end of the month. Normally before a weekend, to allow time to process.

Interview wise, it's either scholarship or they have questions on something. There are a fair few boys we know who had a 2nd interview at 11+ and then got a no. It wasn't the right school and they are very happy where they ended up.

Oh I never aimed for a dry January this year. Perhaps dry March once this whole process is over....

Stay positive ladies. Another interview means they still have a chance of getting in so well done them. I’ve heard nothing so it’s either a definite yes or more likely a no ... this wait is killing me. Stay strong everyone, be like me and drink your way through it 😉

@HampshireGirl123...Amen to that. Back to the drink and worrying about next week now. He is so lazy with English. Can't take the bother of writing. Don't know what he can say in 8 mins to get out of that

P.S. Read somewhere in last year's threads that interview lasts 8mins...
