And now it begins!!!

Yep, hopefully all over bar the formal offer letters a week tomorrow (Fri 1 Feb). The end (beginning) is in site!

Do we think all the English/VR callbacks are out by now?!

Such a long winded process, been through it twice and just about survived. The no letters seemed to come out in batches, it may be that those receiving them keep it quiet for obvious reasons. In one of the threads one person found out right near the end of January. Good luck with the call backs and for the rest hope the postman doesn’t visit for ages.

I was meaning to say the rejection letters should be delivered by the end of Jan, and we can all (hopefully) relax a little from 1st Feb.

Only 5 postal delivery days to go!

I've checked last year chat and the no's are coming out end Jan/early Feb. Yes's are more towards the end of Feb. So we have at least a few more day to relax before the panic...

Pandafan the English was this week. I know someone who went back in on Tuesday.

Does being called back for a MUSIC scholarship mean you definitely have a place (as distinct from academic scholarship invitation)?

I really don’t understand why they hang on so long. They have made their decisions.

Hi we know of music scholar interviewees that didn’t get an offer, so I don’t think it helps having that.
The whole process is long winded as there are a group of schools that send their offers on the same day. IMHO the girls have a much nicer process.
All I can say is if you haven’t had a letter by the end of the week you are in. For those on call backs it is the longer agonising wait ahead.

Youre not definitely in if you opted to go for 13plus. You can get a letter asking you to come back at 12. A friend of mine got that andyou have to go back a year later to do another test.

Nothing in the post today....wish they would just tell us when they were sending out the "no" letters as it would make checking the mail a bit less stressful!

Prufrockspeach - I maybe wrong, but would seem they go out 30th Weds, so Thursday’s post is the one (they go out 1st class). Also as I understand it, your current head will know if you are a no or not by now.

That's good to know. Does anyone know whey they wait so long to send out the letters when they already have the results? I don't understand the benefit of dragging it out this way?

I think their focus on scholarship interviews early this week. After which they are done.
They can then send the No letters out and they are restricted from sending offer letters out by the Trinity school grouping as they all agree to send offers out 14th Feb.
As someone said earlier - if you haven’t heard anything yet (at all) if you hear nothing this week it’s good news. Unfortunately if you were called back you will have to wait until 14th Feb.

Our school definitely knows the results and have been dropping hints to some parents. Could be worth asking the question of your Head...

Can I ask which schools you're at? And what sort of hints?

Don't feel too badly slongers. We have no info here. I can only guess they belong to a local school w a larger cohort applying? That is not the case for us. We will have to wear our patience hats a little bit longer.

I can’t imagine for a minute that our school would say anything. But maybe the bigger feeder schools eg lanesborough?
