My friend at Lanesborough hasn’t heard anything either...

Naturenurture · 29/01/2019 08:54

It’s all very mysterious! Last year the exam was on the 11 jan and they got the yes letters on the 8th February- so a week earlier!

PandaFan · 29/01/2019 09:07

I noticed that KCS and RGS scheduled their exams for the same day and post their letters out on the same day (Feb 14th) too..Perhaps not a coincidence?!

Can I ask if KCS is still the harder school to get into? Or if RGS is just as tough these days?

Prufrockspeach · 29/01/2019 10:04

I've known boys to get rejected from RGS but get into KCS and vice versa....I think that the RGS paper favours boys stronger in math while the reverse is true of KCS....

Mastfam · 29/01/2019 10:04

You are right PandaFan I was at KCS yesterday and they did say that some schools have unanimously decided to send out results on same day so it's it's easier for parents to decide on schools they absolutely want rather than accepting offers they aren't sure about.

Elpis2019 · 29/01/2019 10:11

So we know St George’s Weybridge releases offers on 14th. All these schools are part of the trinity group and they have an agreement to release on the same date.

We’ve already had an offer from
St George’s? They said Friday 8th but it came last Friday

Elpis2019 · 29/01/2019 11:33

St George’s ? Really we got a general email saying they will be sending out offers 14th Feb? This is for 11+ entry - is yours 13+ ?

From memory, the Head of KCS teaches/taught English Literature? The backgrounds of each Head might help explain any leaning towards or preference for English v Maths.

GU24Mum · 29/01/2019 12:18

Naturenurture - have you got a son or a daughter? The letters for the girls were due on Monday 21st and the boys originally on 8th Feb (though pushed back by e-mail yesterday). Well done though for getting one!

Naturenurture · 29/01/2019 12:47

Oh - a son going at 13+ so maybe that’s why?

Elpis2019 · 29/01/2019 12:53

Ahh good you had me worried therebfor a moment

anyone do a music scholarship? My DS enjoyed his. Just wondered if anyone knows how many applied for 11+/13+

grebnew · 29/01/2019 18:56

Time is getting close now, at least for the straight yes or no answers. It's been so helpful having you all to commiserate with along this nail-biting journey! For the boys, we must remain positive, wherever this journey takes us and them... (I say this mainly to remind myself!) Good luck and best wishes everyone!!!

Elpis2019 · 29/01/2019 19:27

Are we expecting them to be posted tmrw for delivery Thurs 31st like last year or posted 31st for delivery the 1st?

OP posts:
slongers · 30/01/2019 11:57

Grebnew I though the straight no was this week, but the yes were sent Feb 14th? And am I right in thinking if there was a call back, those children could hear a yes or no on Feb 14th? Confused

Elpis2019 · 30/01/2019 12:02

Slongers - your understanding is correct.

I'm late to this thread, but DS also sat the exam. Good luck to everyone waiting!

grebnew · 31/01/2019 10:29

The post is clear!

Do we think the letters are really out?

Bin85 · 31/01/2019 10:35

In the past they have come on a Friday giving families the weekend to process it
I have followed these threads for some years (tutor)
Good luck to all waiting

Elpis2019 · 31/01/2019 10:38

Last year they came on Weds

Bin85 · 31/01/2019 10:41

Fair enough

grebnew · 31/01/2019 10:42

I wasn't there on exam day. What were their words? I thought it was "before the end of January"... ?

Auroborea · 31/01/2019 10:52

I thought it was 'by end of January' too - not from the exam day but from other talks by Dr Cox. Although I could be remembering wrong, I could have just read it on here in the previous years.

sazzy5 · 31/01/2019 11:03

When we had no’s coming out it seemed to be in batches all through the week. Guess it depends on how good your post is.
