Help please, Buyer saying they received toilet paper not pram

Angelika321 · 25/01/2020 08:33

As above really. I sent a pram via courier sold for £300, but the buyer is telling me they received toilet paper.

Ebay are insisting I accept the return, (and then file an appeal) but I don't see why I should.

Do I have any recourse?

This is why I don't sell on ebay anymore

nauticant · 25/01/2020 19:10

That's in answer to:

I’m never sold anything on eBay so not sure how they can make you accept the return and refund it?

In this case it's well worth the OP arguing initially with eBay. In my experience if they believe a seller has been cheated they do sometimes come down on the seller's side.

DecemberSnow · 25/01/2020 19:11

Does she live far OP?

This is a scam

ZeroFuchsGiven · 25/01/2020 19:12

I am an eBay business seller, this has happened to be before, I was accused of sending a house brick I stead of the item. No matter what evidence I provided, weights etc eBay sided with the buyer and I was £££ out of pocket. Good luck!

ClappyFlappy · 25/01/2020 19:17

Thank you @nauticant. Can you close your PayPal account or anything to stop it?

ballsdeep · 25/01/2020 19:18

That is clearly a different parcel!!!! It's a different shape and doesn't have the brown tape. Of that was ripped off the package then the bag would be ripped. What a cheeky bastard I'd be contacting the police

Download some random surveys off the Internet regarding dc paraphernalia...
Dress official and call at her door....

nauticant · 25/01/2020 19:24

It's complicated ClappyFlappy:

If you just walk away I don't know if they'd go after you. But that means you might never be able to have another Paypal account, and they can be handy.

AdachiOljulo · 25/01/2020 19:45

ok this is very obviously Hermes's cockup. have you spoken to Hermes yet?

lisag1969 · 25/01/2020 19:49

eBay are bloody useless. I sold a phone after 3 weeks the man wanted to send it Back. He brought it for parts. I said no he'd had it for 3 weeks. eBay gave him his money back put my paypal into negative balance. Phone arrived with parts missing but they stuck up for the buyer. Even though he lied and ruined the phone. They are useless. I don't use them anymore for buying or selling. X

lisag1969 · 25/01/2020 19:55

My friend had the same problem with eBay and a pram. They went in favour of the buyer again and refunded the buyer. X

notapizzaeater · 25/01/2020 19:59

You can see it's def a different parcel, have they sent you a picture of the label ?

ClappyFlappy · 25/01/2020 20:06

Thanks @nauticant

OP I hope you get it sorted in your favour

jazzandh · 25/01/2020 20:13

With regard to opening another Paypal account, you just need another email address. Their security is absolutely dire........

I had a problem with an existing account and literally had another one up and running in minutes.

Shocking!

INeedNewShoes · 25/01/2020 20:19

This really leaves a nasty taste and has firmed up for me that I'll never post anything worth more than £30 on eBay anymore. I've been SO lucky as I have in the past sold items worth a few hundred.

Good luck OP! So impressed you got the CCTV images!

NoFucksImAQueen · 25/01/2020 20:26

Has she sent you a photo of the postage label on the parcel she received?

TatianaLarina · 25/01/2020 20:36

Has she sent you a photo of the postage label on the parcel she received?

Yes that’s what I wondered.

BecauseReasons · 25/01/2020 21:00

Some people are awful. Hope you get this sorted, OP.

Angelika321 · 25/01/2020 22:37

@NoFucksImAQueen

Yes there is a label but it's not the one from my parcel

Have you got a photo of the one that was on your parcel?

JKScot4 · 25/01/2020 22:40

How far away does she live?
If it’s a different parcel and label how can they prove it’s ‘your parcel’? It’s just a parcel that she received, can courier track yours?

IsolaPribby · 25/01/2020 22:49

There's another label underneath?

TatianaLarina · 25/01/2020 22:49

So presumably the bar code is not the same as the one on your label?

Or have they copied the data and faked the label?

Angelika321 · 25/01/2020 22:56

The label on her parcel is a self adhesive one, mine was printed off at home and stuck on with tape.

Also the picture provided by her is blurry and I can't make out the barcode. The last number looks like a 2 but mine ended in a 9.

TatianaLarina · 25/01/2020 23:01

Brilliant so it’s not the same label or code. You need to find a way to get her to take a photo of the label so you can clearly see the code.

You could ask eBay to ask her for pic of the code or to write it down.
