Inspired by the threads before Christmas, I was hoping we could get another thread going to motivate us as we sell and ask each other questions as we go along.

I am hoping to start selling again once the dc go back to school next week.

Anyone else want to join me?

I have great feedback from all the aftershaves I sold Mogs. In my descriptions I explained roughly how much was left in the bottles eg approx one third, that sort of thing. There is only so much you can say.

I think some people look for their favourites this way and hope to get a bargain. One of the buyers had a huge list of men's fragrance purchases on his feedback.

One of the ones we sold was discontinued which is why it did SO well I think.

We have one that hasn't sold, although I have been asked questions about it in past listings and have relisted it tonight.

Did you put a bit of extra cash on your postage costs? Mine took a fair bit of bubble wrap to convince me they were secure. I had to put a vitamin bottle over the top of one bottle before I wrapped it as it didn't have a lid and and I worried about that one but the buyer was delighted and didn't mention my "inventive" packaging Grin

Good luck with them Mogs.

Ah, they were aftershave. I do worry that some people will be Hmm when they bid far more than I expect for something but usually get really positive feedback.

I hadn't even though as far as packaging! I do have rather a collection of salvaged bubble wrap/bags/boxes etc. Thanks for the tip about covering the end, I have just the thing lurking in my room!

I shall go and rummage through the bathroom cupboard in search of valuable perfume Grin.

Grin Mogs my dd is already moaning about me selling everything in sight. I am clearly not the only one!

mogs0 · 27/02/2012 21:05

My problem is that I keep everything thinking I'll eBay it but, in reality, I just eBay the stuff I think will go for more than 99p and the rest sits in an overflowing box Blush.

I'm sure on the Christmas challenge I decided to only eBay things I thought would get more than £10...that hasn't happened!

My final apart from the 2 I'm keeping buggy has sold this evening (has taken 12 hours of emailing to confirm!) and I am so pleased! I'm going to deliver it on the weekend, along with the tent I sold last week. I can already visualise the empty space under the stairs when they have both left the building Grin.

carrotsandcelery · 27/02/2012 21:08

Mogs How many buggies did you have? Shock

On the 99p front. It is surprising how the 99p sales add up (and tidy up the house a bit).

OP posts:
mogs0 · 27/02/2012 21:31

A few Blush. It's my weakness. I'm a cm and have been on a mission for quite a few years to find the ultimate buggy for CMing. I have now found it but ended up with two...don't ask! The second has just been sold, I'll keep the other one and a basic maclaren for the car.

I just find the effort of listing and packing the 99p things a bit too much sometimes. However, the house is in desperate need of a good de-clutter so I really should just get them listed and out of the house.

Was going to try and find a boot sale next Sunday but arranged for a family to come and chat about CMing without thinking. Although, at this stage, bringing in more CMing income is more important than bootsales!!

mogs0 · 27/02/2012 21:33

In my buggy obsessed defence, all the buggies I've bought have been secondhand from eBay and have been sold for pretty much the same as I bought them for Grin.

carrotsandcelery · 27/02/2012 22:05

Aahh! That explains a lot Mogs. No need to defend your actions here though. Grin

mogs0 · 27/02/2012 22:26

Did I mention my shoe and handbag obsession aswell?! Grin A few bags have sold and currently got two more listed. I've had them for so long that I found the idea of listing them almost impossible...until I realised if I want to save to buy a house then everything except for essentials has to go and so it's all going!

carrotsandcelery · 27/02/2012 22:40

I have witnessed a few of your previous handbags on the last thread mogs Grin

I love the idea of it all going. I dream of minimalism but it is just not realistic with 2 dcs and 11 pets. I will do my best to empty the house though then start on the loft.

mogs0 · 27/02/2012 22:56

11 pets Shock I moan about the two snails in our family!!

It was quite a good feeling when I decided that I could actually be parted from these things (I'm a serious hoarder) but I'm sure I'll be sad when I do have to part with them.

However, I'm looking at having to find a 75% deposit because my earnings are so low so I'd better detach my emotional attachment to this stuff pretty quick! Grin.

carrotsandcelery · 28/02/2012 11:22

Mogs a house is much better use of the money than more stuff than you can use. Good luck! I find it quite liberating freeing myself from all the stuff and quite exciting turning it into hard cash. Grin

I have scheduled 9 Shock bottles of perfume for tonight.

Had a spray of a couple and brought back lots of memories of nights out from many moons ago!

Ds said I couldn't get rid of them because they smell nice...he's worse at this hoarding malarky than me and I'm pretty bad Grin.

mogs0 · 28/02/2012 21:07

Here are my listings. Not much change since Sunday. I did have someone ask for a BIN price for the Jane highchair so I replied with the price I wanted but they wanted that to include the £6 P&P. I declined but am thinking maybe I should have agreed.

carrotsandcelery · 28/02/2012 21:19

Oh Mogs just seeing the Giorgio and Eternity bottles has brought back loads of memories for me. I wore both when I was at Uni.

OP posts:
mogs0 · 28/02/2012 21:27

Ha, that's funny that just the sight of them has triggered memories!! I remember popping into my local corner shop on my way to a night out thinking I was the bees knees and the woman behind the counter had a rather dramatic, imo over-acted, coughing fit and demanded to know what the awful smell was Blush. I bloody loved Eternity Blush and couldn't quite bring myself to wear it after that SadGrin.

mogs0 · 28/02/2012 21:28

Go on, have a little bid...you know you want to!!

mogs0 · 28/02/2012 21:29

I have three watchers on the perfume already! Carrots, is one of them you?!!

carrotsandcelery · 28/02/2012 21:32

I met dh when I wore those perfumes

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 28/02/2012 21:32

Not me Mogs.

OP posts:
mogs0 · 28/02/2012 22:54

Someone's already bid on the sunflowers and I've been asked about a BIN on the Lacroix...told them to make me an offer as I have no idea what to ask for it! I might go and hunt for some more...I didn't realise perfume was so popular.

PinkPanther27 · 28/02/2012 23:21

I've listed 38 items since I joined this thread a few days ago, its really got me into gear lol. Have a few bids on some small things but have listed some bigger things too so crossed fingers we'll get a decent amount of money, and the space lol. Prob is I've jsut bid on some maternity clothes so prob spending as much as I'm selling oops!

jardy · 01/03/2012 20:14

Hi everyone,I have made 159 pounds so far and I am sure it will go up,as I have a number of watchers. The great news is that with the money I have bought a shed (off ebay)so the tent which takes up a full wardrobe will go in there.Hurrah! All through selling clutter through ebay!

mogs0 · 01/03/2012 20:43

Pink - freeing up space is the best bit of ebaying for me but I also end up buying as much as I sell...I am working on this little problem though!!

Hardy - it's almost as if the shed was for free!

I am delivering two big items on Saturday (a huge tent and a huge buggy with lots of bits) and I can't wait to get home and admire the space under my stairs...in reality, I'll be hoovering the dust up from under the stairs because I haven't been able to get under the for ages because of the stuff dumped there Grin.

I have just discovered a couple more bids on my items...9 out of 19 have bids now, yipee! One bid is on one of my old favourite bags but is for £10 so mixed feelings on that one.

jardy · 01/03/2012 22:20

Hi MogsSmile,it`s Jardy not Hardy, but having said that I think I will change my name to Hardy as I adore his books and I am reading one now!
Love your items for sale, and you have such fantastic feedback,I will aspire to your prowess!
