We are up to 1000 posts on the other thread, so thought I'd start a new one. And also because as of today my feedback rating is 1000 & I now have a red star

Please keep posting, I love this thread; it's so friendly and interesting!

I don't believe it - I win my bet with MrNC as someone has bid on a 1980s copy of the Highway Code!!
A couple other items are now making 99p too.

Had a bit of interest on fish tank and desk via Gumtree but all dependent on borrowing transport to collect, so no joy yet - but it's only been a day.

Dumbledoresgirl · 17/11/2011 20:29

Hey, well done notcitrus. Should I hunt down my early 1980s copy too? Grin

Good news my end: the buyer who said my brand new wind up toy was broken has now left positive feedback saying it is "fixed". What a relief! I can settle down and enjoy the bids coming in on my other things now. I still have an unpaid case open but it is only for 99p so nothing to fret about. Then, I am going to follow fergoose's instructions on blocking inexperienced ebayers so I don't have to faff about anymore.

TeWihara · 18/11/2011 09:25

Wahoo, result from my non-payer reminders - one paid, the other is arranging collection with cash on arrival... crossing my fingers that they do turn up and everything goes fine after all the messing around stories on here!

Dino Thanks for asking about the charity listings. I have the first 10 things on - mostly jackets. A few seem to be getting a reasonable amount of attention but I have no bids so far.

I haven't said that it is a charity sale though and I am now wondering if I should for the next listings if it makes people more tolerant and giving Grin

I have been away and was excited to look when I came back and disappointed when I did as there hasn't been much action. The dressing up outfit has a few bids and lots of watchers and the brand new jeans have a few watchers but there is not much happening out there.

I have a question on a ballet outfit too but can't answer it yet as the stuff is under ds's bed and I don't want to wake him.

Hopefully ebay will be busy over the weekend and more bids will roll in.

Carrotsandcelery · 19/11/2011 09:37

My dressing up outfit has 23 watchers and 11 bids so far - very interested to see what will happen!

TeWihara · 19/11/2011 11:20

Last week's items all paid and dispatched now... just in time for the new lot of auctions to end tomorrow night! Just the thought of starting again is exhausting...

Carrotsandcelery · 19/11/2011 11:57

I just posted the last two as well TeW (late payers). I have just tried to make it part of our routine. Sell on Sunday and/or Monday, post most on Monday etc. I try to list a couple a day and schedule them so I can reschedule them all for Sunday evening. It doesn't always work, but sometimes it helps.

Dumbledoresgirl · 19/11/2011 14:29

Out of interest carrots, what dressing up outfit are you selling? I have just sold a pirate costume for £12.50 - I'm sure it didn't cost that much when I bought it new Blush

OTOH, my Lego Duplo playset is currently on £5 and I am going to be really miffed if that is all I get for it!

Carrotsandcelery · 19/11/2011 15:27

It's a Jessie from Toy Story outfit that I bought from the Disney Store years ago for ds, in a sleepy haze, thinking it was Woody. It was in the sale for about £7 or similar I think. It is currently £12 but it is BNWT (ds was not amused) so hopefully it will go up a bit yet.

I have finally got a bid on dd's summer dress that has been listed loads of times. I will be so glad to get it out of the ebay box. Grin

Dumbledoresgirl · 19/11/2011 16:09

Good luck with the Jessie outfit. It sounds like you are going to do really well with it.

I know what you mean about finally getting rid of something. I thought I was finally going to sell dd's old dressing gown last week. It is age 6-7 and dd is getting on for 12! But my bidder hasn't paid so it will get listed again when I can close the lack of payment case. She was only going to pay 99p but I would have been glad to see the back of it!

BrianAndHisBalls · 19/11/2011 16:15

oo oo can i join? i love ebay Grin

currently selling monster high dolls

Tortoise · 19/11/2011 16:48

All my items end tomorrow. Not doing amazingly well so far!
Must get more listed this weekend. Christmas is sneaking ever closer, to quickly!

Carrotsandcelery · 19/11/2011 16:52

Do sales slow/change approaching Christmas? I can see that toys and items which are new are going to do better. I am wondering if I should only sell items like that for now or if it generally keeps going right through the Christmas season?

notcitrus · 19/11/2011 17:18

I've managed to sell some really random junk in the last few days (no toys as dc2 is coming soon), and from the last couple years you get lots of people doing browsing of all sorts until the start of December, when it slumps to only BIN gift stuff selling to panicked last-minute buyers (and god forbid if weather means stuff is delayed in the post...)

Managed to get the desk taken away last night for the full £30, but all fish tank enquirers have failed to collect so far.

dumbles did the Duplo kit sell? I didn't see it in your listings but might be interested.

Dumbledoresgirl · 19/11/2011 17:29

Got another 3 hours to go notcitrus Smile

Lego Duplo Rescue Helicopter and Ambulance.

Dumbledoresgirl · 19/11/2011 17:32

Not a great photo but very honestly listed Wink

BrianAndHisBalls · 19/11/2011 20:02

I've been selling for about 6 years, I started it as a business when I was on maternity leave selling craft supplies but now I'm back at work I mainly use it to see dc's toys/clothes etc. I have a leksvik wardobe I need to sell but I'm not sure how well things which are collection only go, has anyone had any experience of selling large items?

notcitrus · 19/11/2011 20:55

Brian - with large items it helps to live in a city! And offer a BIN so people who can drive round one evening but not others can collect easily.
And make sure your listing includes exactly where you are as the Ebay location line often just says 'london' - and it's amazing how many people don't say where in London their lovely items are. I ended up asking loads of them where their items were and that often didn't help - one answered 'north of the river' - which could be 30 min from me, or a 3 hour drive!!!
I didn't bid.

If that wardrobe is Ikea, then oddly they seem to sell very well! Sometimes even for more than cost price!

BrianAndHisBalls · 19/11/2011 20:58

NotCitrus - thank you, that's helpful. Its a children's letsvik (think its letsvik) one and in vgc so will look at previous completed listings to try to judge a buy it now price, might add best offer too.

Im near Birmingham and Worcester so hopefully enough people around.

Im in Shock though, one of my monster high dolls just sold for £38!!!

BrianAndHisBalls · 19/11/2011 21:00

ok now Im really freaked out, my other one has gone for £48?? I don't understand at all.

Carrotsandcelery · 19/11/2011 21:03

Hi Brian are they no longer made? Are they the big thing this Christmas? Are they in short supply in the shops?

Whatever it is, post recorded delivery and sit back and enjoy the lovely cash Grin

BrianAndHisBalls · 19/11/2011 21:08

Carrots - they seem to be the 'in thing' but they're available at Argos/Tesco etc, but maybe mine are rare types? I bought them because I switched my Tesco vouchers to double to use in the voucher toy exchange thingy scheme.

Will keep you posted, if you see any when outr - buy them! Grin

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 19/11/2011 21:14

Here are my final listings Lookee. All done bar re-listing for me now, so far I've made £733 after fees so I'm very happy, bulk of that going to our fund raising too :)

Carrotsandcelery · 19/11/2011 21:18

Dino that is amazing. Shock Well done you!

I am excited as the charity listings I am doing finally have bids on 2 items. One of them looks like there might be a mini bidding war. Yay!
