We are up to 1000 posts on the other thread, so thought I'd start a new one. And also because as of today my feedback rating is 1000 & I now have a red star

Please keep posting, I love this thread; it's so friendly and interesting!

Oo a last minute flurry of bids tonight and my total has gone up to nearly £90! I wasn't expecting that.

The Royal Mail is a law unto itself. Last year I was expecting 2 parcels and they did not turn up, went to the sorting office on the off chance and there they were though no card had been put through my door! I think the postman may have lost his job based on that mistake.

Nowadays, I often find the postman puts a card through the door without bothering to knock to see if I am in (I am). So having a parcel returned to sender does not surprise me one bit. Angry

Carrotsandcelery · 12/11/2011 23:00

We are so lucky here. Our postie knows all our little hiding places for parcels if we are out. He will also stop me in the street if he sees me heading out and he has a parcel.

He has also made an effort to befriend our rescue dog who is very wary of strangers.

Our previous postie sent us a New Baby card when dd was born.

Carrotsandcelery · 13/11/2011 09:11

That is the first 5 items scheduled to start tonight. I am gradually selling more and more expensive items. This week it is BNWT dressing up outfit and 3 BNWT pairs of jeans. I have also listed dd's outgrown ballet kit. Fingers crossed they sell.

I am having trouble, yet again, lifting the ban on international bidders. Can anyone help? The forms seem different every time I look at them. Confused

Carrotsandcelery · 13/11/2011 09:12

I am now about to start listing on the charity page. It may be a long day - although I will be limited to 10 items on that page as I will be considered a new seller and I haven't linked the bank account yet either.

Tortoise · 13/11/2011 09:18

I don't know carrots. I thought mine was set to UK bidders only then someone in Spain won an item. Then they paid before waiting for invoice! Postage was about 75p more than they paid.

TeWihara · 13/11/2011 10:50

It turns out to be eBay's fault, they had switched our postal address to an old house we moved from a year ago... wasn't remotely obvious from our account, and no explanation of why. Hmm

notcitrus · 13/11/2011 11:01

My listings

Can't find my camera to put another piece of furniture on. Apart from that I think we're running out of stuff to list - have some heavy books but they just don't sell because of the postage cost.

Glad you like the books toobreathless!

Dumbledoresgirl · 13/11/2011 11:05

Carrots, you have to use the advanced selling form to edit your listing so that it will change to allowing international bidders. I learnt that the hard way a year ago.

Carrotsandcelery · 13/11/2011 14:16

I have spent ages listing for my charity ebay page. I am only allowed 10 items. It is mostly jackets so there are lots of details to explain.

Please, please let them sell so I haven't wasted my Sunday morning.

I have given up on the overseas bidder thing for now. Ebay makes it so tricky sometimes. I will absorb and try everyone's advice when I am less sick of ebay later today.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 13/11/2011 16:52

Bloody hell, the karcher stuff is up to £23 and there's still 3 hours to run. Must ask my Dad if there's any more random crap in his garage he'd like to donate :)

Carrotsandcelery · 13/11/2011 17:07

School uniforms are still selling, even school shorts Shock Presumably the buyer doesn't live in Scotland like me Hmm

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 13/11/2011 20:22

Here are my listings that end tonight SUNDAY here

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 13/11/2011 20:36

Carrots - from revise listing go to > Give buyers P&P details section which is towards the bottom of your auction details then > Exclude postage locations and tick or untick the necessary location boxes.

If you want to remove restrictions globally for ALL of your auctions then from My ebay go to > Site preferences > Postage and packaging preferences > and then click EDIT next to > Exclude postage locations from your listings > to select the countries you'll accept bids from.

Does that help?!

Good luck with your charity stuff, will be no time at all that you'll be able to list more than 10 and then you'll look back fondly on the days when you were restricted!

Carrotsandcelery · 13/11/2011 20:40

I can't do it through the exclude postage section but I did manage to put her name on my exemption list and she has now bid so all is well so far.

How is everyone getting on with their listings? The most bizarre stuff has sold tonight. Really worn out tracksuit trousers, school shorts in November, a skirt I have reslisted for weeks has a bidding war... Ebay is just so strange!

And thanks everyone for trying to help me out again.

mogs0 · 13/11/2011 20:50

Grrr! I was going to list the playmobil mansion tonight. I have spent an hour and a half building it and have now discovered there a bits missing. There is also a box of Christmas stuff that I can't find. I wonder whether I should list it anyway tonight, describing the missing bits and hope that I find them or whether to wait for the next free listing and do it all properly.

Seabright · 13/11/2011 21:34

Holy cow! My sales this weekend come to £107.50! I feel a bit of a fraud; this was stuff just sitting around the house & in the loft. Am now very worried someone will be disappointed and leave me a neg!

OP posts:
DinosaursHateUnderpants · 13/11/2011 21:44

Well done Seabright :)

We've made £50 tonight from generic stuff that's been laying around for ages, I know what you mean about buyers being disappointed. And some of our stuff that sold tonight has been listed over 12 times!

I've got 15 things re-listed tonight, 11 more to re-list next weekend plus 4 new things and that's me done till 2012, fingers crossed :)

JarethTheGoblinKing · 13/11/2011 21:58

£247.
Couldn't be bothered with listing this weekend.. did Christmas related stuffs instead. Got an Alpine ipod car stereo to list, hopefully that will get £50+...with my coat and a few other bits i should just do the £350.

TeWihara · 13/11/2011 21:59

Crickey, Christmas factor definately works! Our re-listed Wii has sold for £34 more than it did 2mths ago...

Today's total £177 Grin Have also listed hopefully another £75 worth to end next week.

Surprising sale of the week is a tie between a glove and scarf set with missing buttons (how did that sell at all, I ask you?), and a sunshade for my old buggy which managed to make £6.50 despite it being November.

Hope you find the rest of the mansion mogs0.

Tortoise · 13/11/2011 22:03

Here's my current listings lots of re-listed items plus quite a few new listings. Not as many as last time though!

TeWihara · 13/11/2011 22:12

relistings and new items (mostly DVD boxsets)

Tortoise · 13/11/2011 22:12

Just quickly listed little people castle which i forgot to do earlier! Started price quite high so not sure if will sell!

JarethTheGoblinKing · 13/11/2011 22:25

Oh, so many box sets to sell.. better get them listed

TeWihara · 13/11/2011 22:37

... I have a love hate relationship with the boxsets. I love the space I get and that they sell reasonably well. But they're so heavy to cart down to the post office!

I have just totted up, and as long as everyone pays and we have no more cock-ups we've met target - £377.32

We weren't using any of this stuff. It's really Shock in it's own way. But nice too!

mogs0 · 13/11/2011 22:44

Only listed 5 items tonight but I hope they do well...can't do a link until I get on the computer.

I decided not to list the PM house until i've found all the bits so fingers crossed there'll be another free-listing soon. I will set aside all free time this week for PM searching!
