@mabel I really hope it is good news for the both of us!

mabel9 · 08/08/2020 10:42

@Tasha1607 I’ll keep my fingers crossed for us 🤞 🤞 😘

@mabel9 we have another scan tomorrow and we'll find out for definite then. I have a bad feeling though as I can't imagine the follicles tripling in size over the weekend, even with increased dose of Menopur. I'm finding the process far more emotionally taxing than I anticipated and I'm considering going straight to IVF if I'm going to have issues like this... I need to have a chat with the consultant after the scan tomorrow and see.

Fingers crossed for you testing this week! X

Tasha1607 · 10/08/2020 07:37

@BananaHammock23 bless you! I think you're making the right decision though. You've got to do what is best for you. But I hope it is good news tomorrow for you!

mabel9 · 10/08/2020 09:07

@BananaHammock23 🤞 for tomorrow, I really hope you get some good news. I feel there is a little more control in IVf (if that makes sense) so maybe that would be best.

@Tasha1607 how are you holding up?

OP posts:
Tasha1607 · 10/08/2020 09:32

@BananaHammock23 I agree with @mabel9.

@mabel9 yeah okay. I'm still very positive. But very anxious. What about you?

mabel9 · 10/08/2020 09:51

Hi @Tasha1607 I’m feeling okay. I’m going between ‘
I’m just going to test/wait for period arrive/wait for missed period (🤞)
Will you test in the morning?

OP posts:
Tasha1607 · 10/08/2020 10:00

@mabel9 yeah testing in the morning. I'm so bloated right now. And I've only had minor cramping. I remember how stressful our first time was. It was back in February just before the lockdown happened. I hope you get the result you want but if not at least you are prepared for the 2nd round. You know what to expect and you can prepare for it. 😘

LifeIsBusy · 10/08/2020 13:37

Ahh I found this thread at the right time. Currently trying to navigate the 2ww (rather unsuccessfully). I'm 11 days post IUI, 5 days post booster ovitrelle (didn't need the first one) so mostly unmedicated and I accidentally took a HPT this morning 🙄.

mabel9 · 10/08/2020 17:12

Hello @LifeIsBusy! Your in the exact same situation as me, I’m 13dpo and I didn’t need the first ovritrelle but I used the 2nd ovritrelle shot as well. How have you been feeling?

Just a little update - we've had to abandon this round as there were no dominant follicles. Consultant said he recommends going straight for IVF which is gutting as I need to get my BMI down to be eligible. Feeling super sad and dejected. Keeping my fingers crossed for BFPs for you guys x

LifeIsBusy · 10/08/2020 18:25

@mable9 I am feeling fine.. Ish (feel a little sick today but I'm putting that down to nerves as with DS I didn't notice anything until much later). How about you?

LifeIsBusy · 10/08/2020 18:52

@BananaHammock9 you might be a little gutted now but it just means the goal posts have changed and you've got a new target to aim for but in the end you will barely remember this time. Did you ask the consultant whether or not you could try again next month?

mabel9 · 10/08/2020 20:29

Hi @LifeIsBusy I’m having waves of nausea and very bloated, but I’m sure I’m just making it up! Did you use donor for your son?

@BananaHammock23 I’m so sorry. Sending you all the luck and best wished in your IVF journey. When do you think you can start?

OP posts:
LifeIsBusy · 10/08/2020 20:49

@mabel9 yes we did, although a different one as covid changed all of our plans. My wife went through 6 IUIs then I tried and got pg after 1 IUI which we never believed could happen. I POAS multiple times over the course of 5 days and we still didn't believe it. He is now 19 months and only finally sleeps at night so we must be bonkers to try again.

Have you tried a HPT yet?

mabel9 · 11/08/2020 07:51

@LifeIsBusy That’s amazing it worked first time! 19 months is a fun age. 🤞 this cycle works too.
I haven’t taken a test yet, I’m scared too and believe my period will most likely come. I’m having to use donor because of my husbands severe Male factor infertility so I’ve been scarred from over a year of negative tests. 🤣

LifeIsBusy · 11/08/2020 08:01

@mabel9 im sorry for all the attempts. Was it a difficult decision to use a donor? Being in a same sex relationship you expect that if you want children fertility treatments are involved and most likely a donor so the idea was drilled in early on.

Is it your test day?

Tasha1607 · 11/08/2020 08:26

@BananaHammock23 I'm so sorry to hear that. But you've got a little more control when it comes to IVF. I'm sure that will work for you! Keep chin up and keep thinking positive. It will happen.

@mabel9 have you done your test yet? I did mine this morning.

BananaHammock23 · 11/08/2020 08:30

Thanks @Tasha1607 –it's been a rough couple of weeks but just got to crack on and hope we'll be pregnant by Christmas. We have had a good chat with the consultant who said he thinks IVF is best option but would be open to trying another IUI if I'd like to. My partner is interested in egg donation so we might end up egg sharing and getting the treatment free... It feels like we're back at square one!

Thinking of you and @mabel9 today. I really hope you got the result you wanted this morning x

Tasha1607 · 11/08/2020 08:37

@BananaHammock23 see that a good way of thinking. You'll get there. And it will happen! . I've always wanted to egg share and that was going to be our back up plan. But today we got the result. It was a positive! I'm still in shock. Don't quite know how to take it in.

Just keep thinking that it does happen and it will happen to you and your partner.

BananaHammock23 · 11/08/2020 08:39

Oh @Tasha1607that's amazing news. Congratulations! It's lovely to hear that it does happen (especially in same-sex relationships!). Eemind me, was this your first time trying?

Tasha1607 · 11/08/2020 08:59

@BananaHammock23
Hopefully this gives you a little hope that it does happen. And it will happen to you guys.
Thank you so much! This was our second time. I know it's impossible to know but I've got a strange feeling it's going to be twins.

LifeIsBusy · 11/08/2020 09:01

@Tasha1607 congratulations! You must be thrilled especially after all this covid rubbish.

mabel9 · 11/08/2020 09:27

Aghhh @Tasha1607 congratulations!! That’s amazing news. Delighted for you. Did you suspect?
My period is due today so I’m either going to test tonight or in the morning.

mabel9 · 11/08/2020 09:29

@LifeIsBusy thank you, it was a complete shock. Af first when donor was mentioned it was a complete no no and I was more for it and then the balance shifted and my husband became completely cool with it and I struggled, I’d say we are both now excited and prepared (and eager!), we started trying at the end of 2018! Where did you get your donor sperm if you don’t mind me asking?
