Best of luck to you for tomorrow ally! X

ODAAT260718 · 09/02/2021 16:23

@GrettaGreen how are you both?

ally99101 · 09/02/2021 17:07

Thanks both Smile

@ODAAT260718 no we said we'd try 3 IUIs then move to IVF. I've ready that chances after 3 or between 3 and 6 tend to level out. When I spoke to doctor before and told him our thoughts on 3 he said that he thought that was reasonable. If donor sperm wasn't so expensive we might give it one more go but we're £700 a straw (probably a bit more actually) so even though IVF is way more expensive, at least we only hoepfully need 1 straw to get a few fertilized embryos (thats the hope anyway!)

Will let you all know how I get on tomorrow

ODAAT260718 · 09/02/2021 17:11

Thinking of you @ally99101

LifeIsBusy · 09/02/2021 21:09

@ally99101 sounds like you've made a balance choice between IUI and IVF and one I'd probably make given the financial implications between the two. All the best for tomorrow!

ally99101 · 10/02/2021 15:50

Today's bloods confirmed my fears that our 3rd IUI was unsuccessful unfortunately. Off to IVF for us now. Feel like I've just become comfortably knowledgeable about all things IUI, now back to the bottom to try and find out all things IVF! Hoping we can move quite quickly but trying to be realistic with how busy the clinics are at the moment etc and having to go through more tests and consents I would guess before we'll actually be ready for treatment. Treating myself to a big dirty McDonald's now and away to wallow for the evening, I'll be over it in a few days and excited about moving on to IVF I'm sure

ODAAT260718 · 10/02/2021 16:34

Hi @ally99101 I'm sorry to hear your news. Yes the excitement will kick in soon. Do you have a rough idea on timescale for IVF? Keep us posted with how things go.

ally99101 · 10/02/2021 20:07

Thanks @ODAAT260718, will do and will stick around here too and help anyone on their IUI journey if I can help from my experience.

No idea on timescales, I'm thinking absolute best case scenario earliest will be April as will need to use start of next period to do antral follicle count which I think has to be done on day 3 or your period or something like that. So earliest would be the next cycle in April. Thankfully don't think we have lots to do between now and starting, a few tests (amh and antral follicle) and I think we need to do hiv/hep B and C as well, and then consents again I would guess.

So with any luck maybe April/May? Hoping it's not months and months away. We went to the open night last January and first proper thing we did was my hycosy in June so hoping end to end we can get some good news within a year of us starting the whole process. Totally appreciate for others especially unexplained fertility, their journeys can take multiple years

Mumsinthemaking · 16/02/2021 21:29

We are in our TWW. Anyone else?

Ttc2017 · 16/02/2021 22:15

Hi I'm in tww to I'm 8dpiui x

Mumsinthemaking · 17/02/2021 07:54

Ahhh amazing we’re 7DPIUI today @Ttc2017. Any signs for you yet? Nothing here our end! Too soon though right??

Ttc2017 · 17/02/2021 09:39

Yeah think it's too soon. Nothing really here few odd twinge and cramps but they could be from anything and can't stop eating and slight nausea sometimes but all these are side effects of the progesterone I remember from taking them before. I'm just trying hard not to think about it even though I'm googling anything and everything lol and can't wait to test but holding off as I know I will be devastated if it bfn. Hope the time is not dragging to much for you! X

Mumsinthemaking · 17/02/2021 10:45

Ahhh well fingers crossed for you! Yeah it’s actually OK this time round. We are busy with spring cleaning so lots to do around the house meaning we aren’t thinking about it too much. I’m defo worse than my OH though!! Anyway sending positive vibes!

Ttc2017 · 17/02/2021 13:21

Aw that's good you have been busy I've had lots on too but keep worrying I'm over doing it also keep worrying every time I cough or sneeze incase I ruin it lol x

Ttc2017 · 19/02/2021 13:59

How are you doing @mumsinthemaking how many days piui are you now

Mumsinthemaking · 19/02/2021 14:34

Hey @Ttc2017 we are 9 days now! She’s feeling pretty tired, and the only thing we’ve noticed is her boobs have gone uber blue vainy!! Again could be anything...! How about you?

Ttc2017 · 19/02/2021 16:26

When do you think you will test ? I've been really tired to think emotionally this is all draining and also the progesterone is playing tricks on my body. I'm so nervous and worried for if I get a bfp I know I will be totally gutted x

Mumsinthemaking · 19/02/2021 19:37

Aww i know, try and keep busy! We are going to test on Sunday i think. Still no symptoms at all so we aren’t getting our hopes up which is helping with the stress. Feel pretty calm about it this time round, although seeing AF or a BFN will be crappy!! Try and stay calm about it, or just do a test! How many days are you until AF?

Mumsinthemaking · 20/02/2021 22:39

How you doing @Ttc2017?

Ttc2017 · 20/02/2021 22:48

Hi I'm ok thanks got a paint positive this morning on frer going to wait until Monday to test again to check line gets darker still early days so still a bit nervous and trying not to get my hopes up too much. Hope you are both ok and crossing my fingers that you get your bfp! X

ODAAT260718 · 01/03/2021 10:43

Hi all. So day 1 of round 2 today. Have my baseline scan this afternoon. How is every else doing. @GrettaGreen how are you and DW?

Mumsinthemaking · 11/03/2021 18:13

Hi All, anyone else in the TWW? We had our IUI today after a failed last time (if you hadn’t guessed from the radio silence) Just glad to be back in the TWW. As painful as it is each time when you find out no, it’s so exciting!! Dare i say we are learning to appreciate it?!

ODAAT260718 · 11/03/2021 18:17

Hi @Mumsinthemaking I am having insemination tomorrow so very shortly will be in 2ww. How many days post iui are u?

Amb1234 · 11/03/2021 19:41

Hi, I am currently injecting on my first medicated IUI cycle, have a scan tomorrow CD10 so fingers crossed things are going to plan. Has been really good to read all the posts on here and it's nice that it's still active so can see how everyone is getting on Smile

Mumsinthemaking · 12/03/2021 11:16

Hi @ODAAT260718 we are 1 day post IUI now. Happened yesterday! Hope today goes well for you and sending lots of positive vibes to everyone. This is our 5th try now (but only the 3rd in a row). We had to stop treatment because of covid after the first 2 so we feel like we’re basically starting again on these cycles :) hoping this one is the one!
