Please tell me your iui stories and journeys? Currently in 2ww.

@GrettaGreen although DW's night shifts mean you don't see her, that's a great way for her to keep busy. I've had lots of cramps and discomfort and spotting yesterday so am feeling a bit negative. I don't think I have ever had something consume my thoughts as much. I hope you are OK x

Your comment made me smile as it shows it's all about perspective - DW was saying to me earlier she was feeling positive as she had twingey cramps last night! You'll both probably flip flop round tomorrow with you thinking it's positive and her convinced it's a bad sign .

Arrrggghhhh this 2ww is a killer.... 7dpiui tomorrow. I think next week is going to be so hard with AF due. How is everyone else doing?

I've had a weird month, straight into our 3rd and probably last IUI, I'm day 18 and usually would have had my IUI by now but my hormones just aren't moving this month at all. 1st month IUI was day 15, second months was day 17. Bloods last week, again on Tuesday, thought they'd tell me on Tuesday to trigger and come in Wednesday or Thursday but they asked me to come in for more bloods this morning. So praying today's call is that I can trigger and maybe come in over the weekend for the IUI.

@ally99101 another waiting game, have they said what could be the reason? Let us know if you get the call. Hopefully 3rd time lucky

Thanks @ODAAT260718, I feel like 95% of this whole process is just waiting. They haven't said much other than I may just be having a slightly longer cycle. Will let you know what they say this afternoon.

So there has been some movement in my estrogen levels but not enough so back in on Monday for more bloods and then hopefully IUI might be mid week next week.

My cycle is almost always 30 days, Monday is day 21 so definitely weird this month. I asked the nurse if it was anything to worry about and she said no I'm probably just having a slightly longer cycle this month.

@ally99101 that's frustrating but good that the nurse didn't seem worried. I'm feeling every symptom going... Bloated, nausea, sore boobs, cramping... Driving me insane as I don't know if I'm imagining it. Really want to test tomoro but it will only be day 9.

@ODAAT260718 yes every little feeling is intensified when you're in the 2ww. How long do you think you can hold off testing? It would be good to hold a few more days of you can manage, especially if you had a trigger shot if there's even a small chance you could still have some in your system.

Both times I've definitely found the second week of the 2ww hardest. In the first week I know theres nothing I can do but when it gets into the second week and ever closer to results day I find myself really impatient just desperate to know one way or the other

@ally99101 yes that's how I feel. I felt like I was just about coping last week but hitting 7 days today has made me loopy. I triggered on 14th so definately a chance it's still in my system. I've seen that some people test daily to see when I leaves your system.

Oh Ally that sounds so stressful. You must be at your wits end being stuck in limbo for so long!

ODAAT we tested too early last cycle and got positive results. Gutting when we realised our stupidity. Both HCG injections DW took last cycle definitely lingered for at least 6 days. Did you take a second HCG injection this week or just the first trigger shot? We're past half way and on the home straight now to knowing for definite one way or the other 😁

@GrettaGreen yes that's what I'm worried about... The trigger still lingering. Only the one, They didn't say about a 2nd? Did you guys have to do a 2nd Hcg? No symptoms today so convinced we will be doing round 2 x

Both our cycles DW was given a second HCG injection to take 7 days after IUI. I think it's because she has PCOS which makes it liklier to miscarry due to high testosterone. We'll definitely not be able to test for another 5 days min with it which is probably for the best! Sounds like you'd be safe to now. Still a bit early for it to definitely show so you could end up just POAS each day with no clear answer. It might make you feel like you're doing something though instead of just hanging around waiting 😂.

Both times I've also had a 2nd trigger, 6 days after the IUI, 8 clicks of the 250mcg syringe. When I asked the nurse why she said it was to 'support' the pregnancy. I don't have any 'issues' though and hormones 'textbook' according to the doctor so think the second trigger is standard practice in my clinic.

@ally99101 and @GrettaGreen now I'm definately panicking.... Why haven't I had a 2nd? I thought the trigger was to start ovulation?

@ODAAT260718 don't panic all treatment centres have different practices. The NHS doesn't use any medication at all and I conceived our first there and with our second I didnt take the first injection to ovulate but I took the second and now in shattered and almost 28 weeks pregnant.

How are you guys all doing? The 2ww is definitely the worst and longest part of starting a family.

@LifeIsBusy that's good to hear. Where you successful on round 1 both times? I think I may test in the morning which will be day 9 post iui. Like @GrettaGreen said, it gives me something to do rather than wait.

I took a test and it was invalid 😂 so think I shall wait until tomorrow.

@ODAAT260718 still a bit early! You're not out to AF comes. Until then you can while away the hours obsessing over tests to see of it's a shadow or faint positive lol

@ally99101 that's the exact dose DW was given of a second HCH so it might be a standard thing at our clinic too. That's interesting to know.

@GrettaGreen I ended up taking another test last night and this morning where I could see a line that wasn't there 😔 getting period pains now. I think this month is out!

Oh man, that sucks. When are you due on? DW has been super emotional and exhausted this week which is making me begin to feel a little bit more hopeful as she is usually a tough wee cookie. Then again, the exhaustion could easily be nights and the stress could be from trying to survive fertility treatment through a pandemic! It's just impossible to know.

@GrettaGreen are you guys testing Friday? It is so difficult to know isn't it. Do you find yourselves talking about it a lot? I think AF will come tomorrow so feeling pretty crap.

Not too much chat about it this time except every so often one of us says "Imagine if" or "What about this name?". Our last cycle it dominated every conversation and every thought and it was awful when we finally accepted it wasn't our month.

Yeah we're going to test on Friday so we don't get caught with a false positive again. I think it's easier as that decision is mostly out of our hands. We spent a clean fortune last time too which has been a positive this time too.

Not long now ODAT and Gretta ... Fingers crossed for some good news!

I'm finally ready to go ahead with my 3rd and final IUI. No trigger this time so I must be closer to ovulating on my own than I have been the last 2 times. In tomorrow and then let's hope the next 2 weeks fly by!
