Anyone starting egg donation July/August?

We maybe starting our egg donation treatment (first time) July/August and I thought maybe there’s anyone here that would like to join me. Ive found this forum very useful and supportive and thought I would reach out as I cannot believe it is so soon and getting a bit nervous. We had a year of rollercoaster of trying for many years to being finally told my amh is too low and I wouldn’t qualify for IVF. We did our research and found DCN very useful and are really excited about it.

@Leala20 and @tikha congratulations!! Glad it went well!

TulipsTwoLips · 27/12/2020 16:01

Congratulations both of you!

Pingupp · 28/12/2020 16:00

Hi ladies hope you had a nice and safe Xmas.
Some good news on here and some not so good.
I am just waiting for our donor to start her cycle and praying Covid restrictions on tier 4 aren't going to mess everything up...
How's everyone doing? X

greendress789 · 01/01/2021 18:39

Don't you just love it when you see Mrs Hinch expecting baby number 2 literally a minute after emailing the implantation failure clinic? 🙄

Pingupp · 01/01/2021 20:59

@greendress789 I saw that - it seems so easy for everyone else :-(
Keep the faith x

greendress789 · 01/01/2021 22:03

And now I've just had a birth announcement from a friend. Would've been me if I'd have been allowed to travel abroad for my DE cycle in March but covid put a stop to it. Fucks sake! 🤬

Pingupp · 06/01/2021 16:03

Oh man so our donor was due to start everything again on 16th jan - but has told the clinic she can't now until schools go back after lockdown - really upset today.
It keeps getting pushed further and further out :-(
Hope you are all ok ladies x

TulipsTwoLips · 07/01/2021 17:26

😢 @Pingupp

Such a difficult situation all round.

tikha · 07/01/2021 17:37

@Pingupp that is a delay. Is it a nhs clinic?

Pingupp · 07/01/2021 19:53

@tikha no private. The donor has little one and can't get to the appointments as child is not in school - i think she's a single mum and c

Pingupp · 07/01/2021 19:54

And clinic told me that she doesn't love that close to any of the satellite clinics... so I get it but so incredibly disappointing as especially we should of had the transfer this week but she messed up the trigger shot :-(
Just hard!!!
How are you doing ??

greendress789 · 09/01/2021 23:20

How frustrating @Pingupp 😩

tikha · 10/01/2021 22:17

@Pingupp am good just busy with work after new year. Must be frustrating waiting for you

Question to all of you: does anybody have any experience of reproductive immunology? Since I'm on my last DE embryo my amazing dr (six years of trying to get me a baby!) has been looking at this, in particular an early-stage treatment protocol involving steroids and (if Covid does one) an immunoglobulin IV to suppress any immunological response.

At this stage I feel as though nobody else in the world understands why I'm continuing with this. I have - and I am so grateful for - 2 beautiful kids but I feel our family is incomplete. After all this time, these miscarriages, IVF treatments, the decision to use DE, why can't I let it be? I know this last embryo is the last try for me, but to be told that there is additional risk to the foetus if I conceive is hard. My husband isn't even sure that we should try this last time because of the potential risk to the hypothetical baby and me.

So, I could go on all day...but basically just wanting to know if you have any experience in this area.

greendress789 · 13/01/2021 21:43

@sharpster1 I am reading the book by Dr Alan Beer Is Your Body Baby Friendly:

https://www.fertility-academy.co.uk/reproductive-immunology/

He believes after 3 failed implantation failures you should have immunes looked at. I've had 6 now.Sad

I am having an ERA and uterine Natural Killer Cells biopsy before my next transfer.

Which clinic are you with?

Cleozeta · 15/01/2021 19:49

@sharpster1 my friend had these tests after failed transfers and it came back that she did have these killer cell things. She had treatment for the next round and it was successful. Don't give up hope.
Also I totally understand where you are coming from with wanting that 3rd. I am in the same situation and also wonder why I can't just let it go as we do have 2 beautiful children, but sometimes we just can't.

I had my 3rd transfer today, and blood tests to check for any reason why previous 2 failed. Will be interesting to see what comes back.

greendress789 · 15/01/2021 22:32

@sharpster1

Where are you thinking of having immunes done? I called Dr Gorgy's clinic yesterday and am debating whether to go with him or just have the era and uNKC tests at my clinic.

tikha · 16/01/2021 10:41

@Cleozeta good luck

greendress789 · 19/01/2021 20:20

I feel angry today.

Angry at the people who drink loads and get pregnant easily.

Angry at the people who said they'd be happy with 1 child but had another.

Angry at the people who have unhealthy lifestyles but conceive easily.

Angry at all the money I've spent and have to spend to get what I want.

I know I'm being unreasonable but I'm feeling it today.

It's so unfair isn't it. Hope you are feeling a bit better now.

Leala20 · 25/01/2021 20:57

@Cleozeta keeping my fingers crossed for you! @tikha how are you keeping? @greendress789 I hope you’re holding strong.
