Anyone starting egg donation July/August?

We maybe starting our egg donation treatment (first time) July/August and I thought maybe there’s anyone here that would like to join me. Ive found this forum very useful and supportive and thought I would reach out as I cannot believe it is so soon and getting a bit nervous. We had a year of rollercoaster of trying for many years to being finally told my amh is too low and I wouldn’t qualify for IVF. We did our research and found DCN very useful and are really excited about it.

@sharpster1 when do you do your transfer. Took me a while to get over my summer experience with mc etc but am now going through second attempt. Transferred last Friday a day before @greendress789

@tikha Transfer is Saturday 5th, so just over a week behind you. We did an ERA cycle in between. Hopefully this is the one, for us both and for @greendress789. I'm having really strong reactions this time - this morning I had vision issues, which apparently is a progesterone side-effect, and I've been totally rage-filled as well.

Does anyone else feel really crap after coming off meds from a failed cycle? Headaches nightsweats etc? Or is that just me and perimenopause?....

@Cleozeta dramatic hormone changes such as from stopping the progesterone can give headaches and pms like symptoms including fatigue and sweats. Hope you feel better soon.

Would have liked to have hubby in there too but at least the transfer could go ahead! Also they’ve scheduled the blood test for 11 days this time (14 last transfer) so less time to wait.

@Cleozeta are you feeling better from all the hormone changes.
Am getting headaches as well but I generally get them with any changes in hormones.. I find if I take paracetamol early on it helps.

I'm ok, how is everyone else getting on?

@greendress789 and @tikha, you must be due for your blood tests soon? Have you been home testing? Hope you're feeling positive.

@Cleozeta I have night sweats when I come off the medication too. This cycle I've had bad headaches, although I suspect that's psychosomatic.

Yeah I think the headaches are hormonal. Felt a lot better after that first night before AF arrived. Although natural cycle not going smoothly again. CD 8 and still spotting. I think the shutting down of my overies during the medicated cycles throws it all out. Might need to requests some more Northeristerone or whatever it's called. Anyone else had problems with their natural cycle after meds?

@greendress789 that is shit. As you know I totally understand where you are coming from! Try to think ahead if you can, I found that helped. Do you have any frozen left?

We have one frozen.

After 4 failed OE cycles I thought this was it. I felt dizzy on Sunday night and my boobs have been killing me. Think I'm still in shock tbh that it hasn't worked.

I've spent a good £40-50k, I just can't keep doing this.

I have my lovely DS which helps but I wanted a sibling for him and a big family so badly.

I'm sick of the transfers, lying there with your legs open, the speculum hurting, feeling tense and trying not to wet yourself. The injections, the meds, shoving those bullets up your bum. God I just so didn't want to have to go through it again.

So my clinic confirmed a bfp and now waiting for a scan. Yet another waiting game. Such a lottery.

@greendress789 fate does play a cruel hand. I was besides myself when my first DE transfer ended in MMC and took me a while to think about starting over or what my choices were. Lots of hugs

@greendress789. Gutted for you. I know exactly what you mean - it is dehumanising and demeaning. I thought my first DE cycle would be the trick after failed OE cycles; wrong! I have just discovered this whole infertility/Donor community on Instagram which I'm finding really helpful - in particular, @theinfertilitycounsellor, whose book I am now reading. She focuses on the psychological effects of IVF, which is an area I've felt completely unsupported in over the last 7 years.

@tikha, that's wonderful news - congratulations. It must be nervewracking after the MMC, but hopefully this one is the good one.

@Cleozeta yes, I have issues after each artificial cycle. Last time around I had a mega period after coming off the meds, which lasted about 10 days and was full-on. Then I had a 2nd period 2 weeks later! Yay, just to rub it in that the cycle hadn't worked....two periods for the price of one.
