Anyone starting egg donation July/August?

We maybe starting our egg donation treatment (first time) July/August and I thought maybe there’s anyone here that would like to join me. Ive found this forum very useful and supportive and thought I would reach out as I cannot believe it is so soon and getting a bit nervous. We had a year of rollercoaster of trying for many years to being finally told my amh is too low and I wouldn’t qualify for IVF. We did our research and found DCN very useful and are really excited about it.

@TulipsTwoLips Welcome! I think a lot of us are in our 40s from what I've read previously. You get a good balance from this thread - I wish my clinic had been more up front about the fact that DE aren't magic bullets, but there are enough positive stories to give us the hope we need.

@Leala20, @tikha thank you for the positivity. It feels like everything that could go wrong, has at some point so I know I'm in a negative mindset. I had spotting today which, like everything, can be read as a good sign (implantation) or a bad one (period trying to come). Also getting nausea, which at this stage is almost certainly a progesterone side-effect, but obviously sets my mind wandering!

Cleozeta · 15/12/2020 00:03

@Pingupp oh no sorry your cycle has been postponed, how frustrating! Like the wait already isn't long enough. Urgh. Fingers crossed it'll be worth the wait though.

@sharpster1 try not to read too much into it yet, it's still early. My clinic made me wait a bit longer to test again as even at 10dp5dt it still may not show apparently, particularly in frozen cycles.
Also, for the spotting, this is less likely to be period when on progesterone, as even if the cycle is unsuccessful, the progesterone would stop a period (learnt this the hard way when I had a chemical pregnancy discovered at 7 week scan as no bleeding!)

@TulipsTwoLips welcome! Best of luck to you.

@Leala20 fingers crossed for your scan!

I had my follow up meeting today. The Dr is not concerned about my second attempt failing and is still hopeful that we stand a good chance for next transfer. However he does want to do some blood tests now to rule out any vitimin dificiencies (vit D I think) and the killer cell thing, and various other things that may affect implantation. He says if any of those things are found it's easy to treat. I have asked for some more Northeristerone to kick start a cycle in 10 days as ovulation is nowhere to be seen again.

TulipsTwoLips · 15/12/2020 09:14

Thank you for all of the kind welcomes, and for the good advice.

Can I ask about the cost of treatment? We've done one cycle of IVF and found a lot of things were added on so we'd like to be a bit more prepared this time!

Hi everyone, I’ve been popping in and out of this thread for a while now. I had my 2nd FET in October, BFP after only to find out we had a MMC at 8 weeks. Just getting over the shock and disappointment. That was our last embryo so we have to start all over again 😢 feeling completely exhausted mentally and physically.

I saw some questions about next steps and wanted to share our plan given by the clinic. I have to do an MRI, hysteroscopy and an endometrial culture on my uteras. I need to see an immunologist and also they want to do tests on my hubbies sperm. So more testing it seems endless...

Has anyone had these tests done before? Xx

Pingupp · 16/12/2020 04:58

Thanks ladies for your messages.
Clinic said we are looking at Feb time now so going to enjoy Xmas, maybe even sneak off s

Pingupp · 16/12/2020 04:59

As I was saying! Sneak off somewhere on hols and start again.
I hope you are all doing ok. Lots going on in the group.
Praying that there are some DE babies in 2021 for us all ❤️

greendress789 · 16/12/2020 20:09

Welcome @Parisinthesummer

Enjoy your break @Pingupp

DH received a baby scan picture from his friend today. So heartbreaking. They announced their first BFP when our first FET TTC #2 failed in 2017. So that's 2 babies for them while we're still trying to have our 2nd one. It hurts.

sharpster1 · 19/12/2020 02:30

Unfortunately it was another negative. Waiting for clinic to confirm that I can go again, presumably jan/Feb. That will be the last time.

tikha · 19/12/2020 12:31

@sharpster1 sorry to hear that.

tikha · 19/12/2020 12:32

@greendress789 i totally get it.. While I am pleased for my friends the other part of me just thinks of how many years we have spent on this.

greendress789 · 19/12/2020 12:34

I'm really sorry @sharpster1 😔

tikha · 19/12/2020 12:35

@Parisinthesummer its great that are investigating you thoroughly including looking at hubby's sperm as that can have an impact on embryo quality. Atleast then you know you have investigated everything for next time.

@TulipsTwoLips in some london clinics it costs around 10000 to 12000 depending on whether you go for 6 or 10 frozen eggs but @Cleozeta and @Pleaseletitbeme have package that lets you multiple cycles and also includes the FET for free which might turn out to be cheaper. As we have seen this with this thread, not everyone is successful at first go and might need a couple of attempts.

tikha · 19/12/2020 12:39

@Leala20 good luck for your next scan.. the waiting game continues
@Cleozeta its good that the clinic is being thorough.

Hope everyone has an ok end of year despite everything and manage to catch some downtime.

Cleozeta · 19/12/2020 18:45

@TulipsTwoLips we have paid 10k for 2 cycles all inclusive. No add ons. This first cycle I got 4 embyo's so their transfers are included. Not bad really! Its in Manchester, so we are travelling from the south, but London was much more expensive.
Sorry for my silence this week, we have just moved house, so finally something has gone good for us this year!
Fingers crossed we all get some luck next year.

Cleozeta · 19/12/2020 18:49

@Parisinthesummer sorry about your MMC, how gutting after getting so far. I am glad they are looking into things for you.

@sharpster1 sorry you got BFN too. Fingers crossed next go will be the one.

Parisinthesummer · 20/12/2020 11:52

@greendress789 I totally understand. Since we have been trying my younger sister has had two. I am dreading all the xmas announcements everyone seems to be pregnant at the moment.

I am sorry for all the BFNs on here hoping we have some luck in the new year. Thinking of everyone

greendress789 · 20/12/2020 14:58

That's tough @Parisinthesummer ❤️

tikha · 20/12/2020 18:56

@Parisinthesummer really sorry to hear about your mmc. Hopefully we can all just switch off for a bit 🙏

TulipsTwoLips · 21/12/2020 11:40

Thank you for the info about costs.

Sorry to hear of the recent BFNs Flowers

Again I know each place of different, but could anyone give me a rough idea of the time between first consultation to transfer?

greendress789 · 23/12/2020 23:04

Had my consultation. Dr said stick to same drugs regime and didn't offer anything new/different. Hmm

I spoke about all the other failed transfers / cycles I've had with my own eggs (7 Sad). Dr said disregard those and treat this as a new cycle. Easy for them to say when they aren't battered and bruised from so many failures.

I asked for NK tests and ERA before next transfer.

tikha · 25/12/2020 20:21

@TulipsTwoLips provided you have done all your tests it doesn't take long if you are using frozen eggs. Choosing a donor that feels right for you can take time. If you are going through egg share or fresh donor eggs it can take longer
@greendress789 atleast NK and ERA might address some of your concerns. Keeping my fingers crossed

tikha · 25/12/2020 20:22

So I had my scan yesterday and there was a heartbeat which feels like a milestone crossed. I dont think we can ever stop being anxious or actually really beleive it. Hope you are all having a restful christmas.

greendress789 · 26/12/2020 00:40

That's great news @tikha 🤞

Leala20 · 26/12/2020 09:02

@tikha massive congratulations on this milestone!
I hope you all are having a relaxing Xmas.
I had my 12 week scan this week and it went well. I was relieved for one day after seeing the little one and back to being anxious now. Everyone says the worry will never go away but I think it’s different if you’ve been through what we all have experienced. Additional layer of anxiety.
