Anyone starting egg donation July/August?

Leala20 · 28/06/2020 08:48

We maybe starting our egg donation treatment (first time) July/August and I thought maybe there’s anyone here that would like to join me. Ive found this forum very useful and supportive and thought I would reach out as I cannot believe it is so soon and getting a bit nervous. We had a year of rollercoaster of trying for many years to being finally told my amh is too low and I wouldn’t qualify for IVF. We did our research and found DCN very useful and are really excited about it.

Donor Egg collection is booked for Monday. Hoping we get something to freeze. Keep your fingers crossed ladies x

greendress789 · 11/12/2020 21:30

Why do donor eggs fail? Does anyone know?

greendress789 · 11/12/2020 21:31

Fingers crossed @Pingupp 🤞

Cleozeta · 11/12/2020 21:38

@greendress789 I'd love to know that too. But as a guess, it's like the whole fertility thing, it's probably just luck of the draw.
I hope we both have better luck for the next transfer.

greendress789 · 11/12/2020 22:05

I'm getting really concerned as this is my 7th transfer and I'm worried it's something to do with me.

tikha · 11/12/2020 23:40

@greendress789 have you done all the tests such as thyroid, possibly era testing. Did your clinic transfer pgs tested embryos? Worth speaking to them about your worries.

tikha · 11/12/2020 23:40

@sharpster1 how is it going.

tikha · 11/12/2020 23:44

@Pingupp are you doing your transfer in December or January? Good luck for next week. Would you worth you joining the ivf/fet bus of December/January 2021 www.mumsnet.com/Talk/infertility/4068818-ivf-dec-2020-jan-2021-anyone-joining-me depending on when you transfer. Keeping my fingers crossed for you

Pingupp · 12/12/2020 07:02

@tikha depending on if we get any eggs to freeze stage then transfer date is 6th jan.
Thanks for the link to the new area- I'll take a look x

Leala20 · 12/12/2020 07:32

@tikha massive congratulations and all the best on the next steps in the journey. We know the 2ww is just a warmup, I think my patience has improved so much through this waiting.
@greendress789 I am sorry it didn’t work out this time. It’s very disheartening. Jumping from 1-3% in my case to almost 50 gave us such boost that we also were so shocked the first one didn’t work. As @tikha said it may be a matter of luck, maybe timing or embryo itself despite it being graded ok. What helped me as @Cleozeta put it is to have a plan going forward and think of it in steps, getting blood tests repeated for sugar, thyroid etc and speak to get consultant about the protocol. I also went for acupuncture and did meditation and this helped me mentally at that time.
@Pingupp this is very soon. All the best for Monday.
@sharpster1 good luck on testing in the coming days.
@cleozeta how are you keeping?

Cleozeta · 12/12/2020 08:09

@Leala20 I'm doing OK thank you. On the long wait for the next cycle to start. Again it's not budging so think I'll have to ask for the meds again to induce a period. Moving house next week so at least that should keep me busy. I hate all this waiting around, I just want to get on with the next cycle! The whole waiting for a natural cycle first is an epic pain in the arse. I have my follow up meeting on Monday so will discuss it with them then.

How are you doing? Things still progressing nicely?

Russkispy · 12/12/2020 08:42

I'm still lurking around, following your progress.

@Pingupp good luck for Monday. Hope it goes well.

@greendress789 so sorry it didn't work. I now the feeling too well. Albeit my 1st FET DE ended in a chemical 😔 and I already had 4 MCs behind but all with my OE. So I was gutted. Did more blood tests for various things and my prolactin levels were through the roof. And that usually caused by stress. High prolactin stops pregnancy from developing so I was put on meds for that. And my 2nd DE FET worked and my baby son is 5 weeks 💙 (I have a 3 years old daughter from my OE).
My embryos were PGS tested prior transfer.
How soon are you transferring again? Maybe ask your doc for various bloods tests?

@tikha congratulations! When is your scan? 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@sharpster1 good luck with testing

@Leala20 how's it going?

@Cleozeta sorry things are dragging on for you. It's bloody never straight forward

tikha · 12/12/2020 12:09

@greendress789 I didn't realize that your embryo was already pgs tested. If that is the case it could be a single gene problem that is not picked up by pgs but the big factor to consider is uterine receptivity, thyroid issues and immune issues. For uterine receptivity useful to a hysterosalpingogram to ensure no structural issues.era test to check for optimal time of transfer and possible infection etc.

I found this link useful

beatinfertility.co/why-pgs-normal-embryos-fail/

Not sure who looks into this in UK and unfortunately everything costs money. Just crazy

greendress789 · 12/12/2020 12:33

Hi @tikha no they weren't PGS tested this t time. Thanks for the link.

I always get triple stripe lining, all bloods fine, uterine cavity clear. It's so upsetting.

greendress789 · 12/12/2020 12:44

Thank you very much everyone for taking the time to help ❤️

tikha · 13/12/2020 12:59

@Russkispy the scan is booked for end of this year..
@Leala20 yeah for me since its always ended badly at scan stage, I tend to view it as an extended 2 week wait and rather not interpret too much into a positive test

greendress789 · 13/12/2020 13:37

Good luck @tikha ❤️

Pingupp · 13/12/2020 19:07

Hey ladies - so I was on the garden centre today and the clinic called us.. the donor has cocked up her last injection I think . Got timing wrong or something like that - and basically it’s all off for retrieval tomorrow.
Spanner in the works and upset on both sides. She was distraught according to our consultant - as was I - sobbing in the garden centre.
Looking like mid Feb now for us now as she has to have a period and start everything all over again.
So disappointed as had geared myself to for next week and early Jan.
Feel gutted ☹️

greendress789 · 13/12/2020 19:08

Oh my god @Pingupp I would be so sad and mad too. I'm so sorry 😥

sharpster1 · 14/12/2020 13:17

@Pingupp NOOOOOOO! How disappointing and frustrating. This whole thing moves so bloody slowly as it is...I feel for you.

So we were really determined not to test until the day before my blood test this time around (last time I tested regularly). However my husband cracked Saturday and begged me to test. It was negative. At 7 days post 5DT I gather you're at about 70% accuracy, so looking unlikely that it worked this time. We have one left in the bank, and then we're out.

TulipsTwoLips · 14/12/2020 18:55

Hello. May I join? I'm 43 and my husband and I have just decided to use donor eggs ☺️. It's good to read all of your experiences. Good luck to everyone!

tikha · 14/12/2020 19:40

@sharpster1 you are right that there is less chance if you don't see anything on 7dpt5dt but in my previous transfer it was only a clear positive on 8dp5dt and that also with FRER. Implantation can happen later for frozen. So you are not out yet

tikha · 14/12/2020 19:42

@Pingupp oh no what a kerfuffle. Hopefully things progress in January. Your donor must be gutted as well.

tikha · 14/12/2020 19:42

@TulipsTwoLips welcome to the group

Leala20 · 14/12/2020 20:55

@Pingupp I am so sorry. Any delay is so frustrating. The only thing is perspective that it will happen but a month later. When my cycle was delayed by one month I had to just focus on the new date and the countdown started, days flew by in the end and meanwhile treat yourself well.
@sharpster1 there’s still a chance, some of us start with early hcg and some later but the important is how it progresses.
@tulipstwolips welcome to the group
@cleozeta congratulations on the house. Thats great news that this worked out in the end! I am doing ok. Very cautious and awaiting 12 week scan before xmas.
